I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!) I want to turn off the hover preview feature. First I went in settings, but that disabled only the thumbnail (browser.tabs.hoverPreview.showThumbnails in about:config is set to false and saved). Then I went in about:config and manually set browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled to false as well, that disables the unwanted feature completely.

But every time I restart the browser it's turned back to true (just hover.Preview.enabled, not hover.Preview.showThumbnails). Can I save my settings? It's annoying that I can't opt out.

I am developing a django website.

The login on the default admin page is not working when I am testing locally on my mobile. I assume it is because the connection is http (and not https) in order to protect the users (which is a good thing).

I assumed this is the problem, because on chrome, I got also blocked, but I got this hint.

Therefore following 2 stories:

• As a user, I wish I receive a feedback when something is blocked by the browser, so that I understand what is happening.
• As a developer, I wish I could allow login on whitelisted sites (local websites like 192.* ?), so that I can test my website on android without creating self-signed-certificates.

If my assumptions are wrong (but the server did not receive any call), do you know, how I can visualize the network calls on android?

Hello, directions to change locations on weather app, At the top left of the New Tab page, hover over the weather information and click the configuration icon IG page actions.

   Click Change Location.
   Enter the new location in the field and select the desired location from the drop-down. 

I don't get a change location option in the menu.

What to do?

It's hard to describe what I mean without an example. I type "tart" into the search bar, and instead of the recently visited Wikipedia page on tarts, the autofill suggestions are full of pages in my history with "start" or "starter" in the title, or even in the URL but not the title. Is there any way to change it so the suggestions only contain the exact words I've typed?

I realize Facebook doesn't have a spell check feature,but is there a way my browser, Firefox, which I already have spell check enabled can somehow spell check Facebook when I chat? Can someone help? Thank you.

I have about 30 user/password accounts logged when I use my Firefox account on Windows PCs but here on my new Apple Mac tablet, I do NOT see/get any of those accounts. Is there something I need to do to enable this to work?

Is there anyway to configure network.http.rcwn.enabled to false via the policy located in the ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution'' folder?

This issue is happening with every newly installed add-on, but not with add-ons installed on or before Aug 3, 2024. The add-ons are installed via addons.mozilla.org. To rule out the possibility that it's happening only with specific add-ons, I also installed one of the random recommendations on that page, Augmented Steam which has 54,248 users, and it happens with that one as well.

I'll click Enable, but the prompt appears every time I restart Firefox.

What I've tried (with a restart after each attempt):

• Clear the startup cache
• Delete extensions.json
• Delete compatibility.ini
• Via about:config deleted extensions.databaseSchema and extensions.getAddons.databaseSchema
• Excluded Add-ons from syncing

I've noticed the following in extensions.json for each of the recent add-ons after restart:

• syncGUID changes to presumably random new value
• active changes from true to false
• userDisabled changes from false to true
• seen changes from true to false

I have 2 laptops, one for work and one personally. I was looking to set-up firefox on my personal laptop as well but noticed I cannot open developer console on a specific element by pressing 'q' anymore after right clicking.

This is a significant feature and I would like to keep using it. Is it possible to enable this feature on my personal computer as well? Since it is still enabled on my work device.

Is there a way to make backups of my session every 30 for example? The sessionstore-backups folder only saves the last session... I'd to have it saved often and not automatically deleted.

I recently explored the backgrounds on Firefox. I choose one of the, because they look really nice. But after I changed my Firefox Data Collection and Use settings the background disappeared.

Why do you have to keep "Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla" and "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" enabled?

Regular download works fine, but when I try to download attachment in outlook.live.com website, it didn't ask me where to store it, but simply places it in my default location, while at the same time opening the attachment even though I only want to download the file.

I just received my new Windows 11 computer and I'm setting up Firefox to my liking. I have sync turned on, but some of my settings didn't sync, (possibly because none of my other PCs are turned on?). Anyway, that's not the issue I'm writing about; I was checking the DNS over HTTPS to see what the setting was. The status showed "active" and the setting was set on "default protection".

I changed it to "max protection" but later decided to switch it back to default protection. When I did, the status now showed "inactive". I switched it back and forth between max and default, and the status change from active to inactive each time.

I read that DNS over HTTPS can show inactive under the following conditions: Firefox detects errors or certain network conditions like VPN, parental controls, enterprise policies that tell Firefox not to use DoH. I have a VPN turned on, but it is only active when I'm connected to an unsecured network, and the on/off toggle for the VPN shows "turn on", indicating that it is off and waiting for a network that has a weak security key.

Did I mistakenly think I saw active when it was actually inactive when I first checked the status of the DNS over HTTPS? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Mozilla added Accuweather to my New Tab page today. I can't use it because my VPN uses other locations. I attempted to remove it using the "solution" from another user's post 9 months ago. However, none of those things worked. There is no "Tools" option in the menu and I unchecked and blocked every item on the "Page Info" tab under the "Permissions" header. Zero result.

The Accuweather feed shows up in the upper left corner of the computer screen and does not have a "dismiss" option. I did notice that it has some entries in about:config. Is the solution to be found there?
