I see on others' computers that they have an orange window that says firefox in the upper left hand corner but mine doesn't. And when I checked to see what version I am running, it said 18.0, yet I see questions only to version 4 and 5? I am not computer savvy so if I do have a fake version, will it be hard for me to fix? And if this is a fake version, how do I know that this is not going to the 'fake' company for support? When I try to search for something from the start page, in the center of the screen, it will not search. I have seen 2 different solutions regarding 'safe-mode' and default back to the beginning, but they both seem a little scary and I am uneasy trying either one. Is there any way you can help me get this figured out? I just got this laptop for Christmas and I am already having this problem with firefox. I play farmville on facebook everyday and my son says that is the reason I am messing up the laptop. Please help me fix this. This is my first laptop and I do not want to screw it up right away. I'm not very tech savy so plain English please. I have a Dell Studio desktop with Intel 2 Quad Processer. I used IE for 15+ years. Started using Google Chrome for speed and better security about 6 months ago with no issues. Shortly after the first of the year Chrome starting crashing daily and as of 1/14 it was crashing 10-12 times a day. I don't like loosing stuff and having to stop, re-load or re-start or re-store which Chrome was doing more that it was working correctly.

Will Firefox work within my OS System. I've ready about your safety, password protection and the other things that are touted on your website about Firefox, but I'm mainly concerned about the crashes and what causes them. Is the problem within my own system and not the brower issues?

I simply want to surf, read, watch you tube, facebook with friends and family. I'm 65 and retired and I'm really disguested with all the problems I'm having.

I think Firefox is a good product, but I need answers to the questions I have raised.

Hope to hear from someone very soon regarding the issues I have rasied. If I download Firefox, do I need to un-install IE. I have already un=installed Chrome.

I simply want to be able to go to email from my Firefox pages or receive notice that I have mail to read?

I was going through the favorites and accidently deleted the tab favorites. I don't even know if 'tab' is the right word?! But how do I get it back? Since I cannot search from the main page, I have to go to favorites in order to go to facebook. Please explain (in an easy to understand instruction) how to put it back up! Thank you!!

I'm not using a mouse on my laptop. Every once in a while the window zoom in or out because a finger is hanging over the touch pad. How do I zoom in and out in order to control the size in the window?

When videos show up in Mozilla there's a grey box that says I need to download Flash to view the content. Flash already exists on my computer and runs videos in IE Explorer. Is there any way to get Mozilla to see and use that version of Flash?

When I go to the start page, after clicking the Mozilla Firefox icon, if I type something in the box and hit "search", it doesn't do anything. I have to go up to the address bar to search anything. It's not like Google, where I can type in some words, e.g., CBS (the news station and hit search and get results). Any ideas?

I was just working on an eBay listing and I pressed the "delete" key when the cursor was not in a field and it made my browser go back a page. In doing this, I lost an ENTIRE LISTING WORTH OF WORK! This is such an annoying feature! I don't want my delete key to do anything except delete text. How can I disable this feature that makes the delete key perform the same function as the "back arrow". For example, if the cursor was out of this box right now and I pressed "delete" by accident, I would have to re-type all of this text! This is a stupid feature. Please tell me, how do I disable it?

I'm trying to create an HTML document with Notepad, and my text book told me what to type, to save the file, and then to open it with the Firefox browser. I can't figure out how to do this.

The ‘Welcome to Firefox’ page that shows up after an update is installed has been coming up when ever I start up Firefox since I did the last update to 18.0.1, several days ago. How do I get it to stop?

In the past by typing in a letter or two the name of the addressee would appear and by clicking it the address would be recorded for sending message. It quit working and I would like to know how to get it to work again. Help!!!
