It's hard to describe what I mean without an example. I type "tart" into the search bar, and instead of the recently visited Wikipedia page on tarts, the autofill suggestions are full of pages in my history with "start" or "starter" in the title, or even in the URL but not the title. Is there any way to change it so the suggestions only contain the exact words I've typed?

I tried the troubleshooting mode, which turns off all the add-ons. Despite that, my Firefox still lags. For example, when I click on a new tab, it takes a couple of seconds to open. On Opera and Chrome, I am logged in as a google user. I make a diary available from a web page which is limited as to how the viewer sees it. If I (or another authorised user) is viewing it then they see all the detail. If anyone else sees it then they only see 'busy' against all the bookings. This has worked fine for years.

On changing to Firefox, though, when the web diary is accessed - even though I am logged in properly - it only shows the 'busy' view. It seems as if it's not maintaining my google login, hence showing the 'incorrect' view.

Is there anything that I can change to make this work properly?

TIA

If you are currently using a normal window then there are ways to open a bookmark or link in a private window. But if you are currently using a private window then how would you open a bookmark or link in a normal window?

I have tried several things including pressing shift+enter or choosing "Open in new Window" from the context menu, but this just opens the bookmark or link in a new private window.

My current method is to copy the address of the bookmark or link then paste it into the address bar of a normal window.

But is there a more direct method of opening bookmarks or links in a normal window, if currently in a private window?

Thanks.

Hi folks

Until about two or three days ago the www.bt.com website opened as usual, with first of all its cookie panel taking over the screen asking whether to accept cookies or manage cookies, and after handling that the site was perfectly usable.

As of two or three days now the cookie panel does not come up NOT AT ALL [but see also the last part of this message], and the screen is lightly-greyed-out. The screen scrolls but nothing at all is clickable.

However, in Chrome and Edge the site opens and works as expected.

The site also opens on the iPhone using both Safari and Firefox and works as expected.

It is just FF on my W10x64 Desktop where I have the unclickable lightly-greyed-out screen problem.

Perhaps something has chaged in FF, so I went into Settings-Privacy & Security- and then did the following:-

  • Went to Site Data then "Manage Exceptions then I specifically typed in and Allowed the www.bt.com website
  • Then went to Permissions and Block pop-up windows and in Exceptions I typed in and Allowed the www.bt.com website
  • Then cleared FF cache
  • Then reloaded FF

After all of this - no change; the www.bt.com screen is still in a lightly-greyed-out and unclickble, but still scrolls, however, after taking the above bulleted steps, the cookie panel now momentairily only flickers onto the screen and then disappears, and, sadly, the screen remains lightly-greyed-out and unusable.

Am I missing some sort of blocker for this website?

All other websites work on the Desktop PCs FF as expected. It is just this www.bt.com website that is the issue.

I have spent 30 mins with a BT Support Agent on the phone and we both agree that as Chrome, Edge and Safari are all fine it must be an issue with the Desktop version of FF.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

I just noticed after an update today that the Mobile menu entry (with bookmarks from my mobile Firefox instances) no longer appears in the browser's Bookmarks menu. After 129.0 update, Hulu streaming quit working. I have other streaming services that still work fine. I tried it on older version of Firefox 115.14.0esr (64bit) (old pc Win 8.1) and it works fine there. Can I go back to an older version of Firefox or is this a known issue with update?

This is the issue, Hulu website loads and allows you to log in. When you try to stream a show, it plays a commercial then freezes.

Hi there, after turning on my computer in the morning, Firefox has been suddenly rendered utterly inoperable and pulls up a PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR for all websites. No matter what I do, including all other fixes previously suggested on the Mozilla forums and elsewhere, nothing seems to work.

Things that I've already tried and did not work include: - Pausing Kaspersky Internet Security - Resetting WiFi router - Switching to a different WiFi - Turning on troubleshooting mode - Resetting Firefox entirely - Creating a new profile - Reinstalling Firefox (several times) - Installing Firefox for Developers - Flushing DNS - Turning off proxy settings

I really don't want to be forced to use Google Chrome. Is there anything else that I can possibly do that can fix this?
