There are times that when I open firefox that some of my tabs that does this weird thing where my tabs from the previous session that I left doesn't load up, from what I see is a blank tab that doesn't access the sites I left. It's been twice since I encountered this and I can't replicate the issue. When it happens I try checking out the recently closed tabs or window it doesn't show the ones that didn't show up.

Since yesterday, I suddenly had to recreate my Firefox account, which I have used for a long time. For no apparent reason, my email was not recognized as an existing account when I tried to synchronize my browser. As a result, I created a new account using the same email address. Consequently, all my email masks have disappeared from relay.firefox.com. Is there any way to recover those masks?

Hi, Today 8-7-25 Mozilla automatically upgraded to version 141.0.3. Now all of my bookmarks are gone. I can't find them on my pc. There are two profiles listed in the profile section. Neither seem to have my bookmarks. I have a lot of bookmarks and some are very needed. Please help me recover all of my bookmarks. Thank you, Geo

I don't know whether this happened after an update - there was one a few days ago, but I only realised this morning, after switching on the computer, that all my bookmarks are missing. The toolbar is there, empty, only reading "For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar"... I wish! I tried to restore the bookmarks - but it seems there is no backup to restore at all. Then I tried to check my profiles, but there is only the one currently in use. Then I tried to move a tab to the bookmarks toolbar - and nothing happened. Then I began to panic: toolbar apart, we're speaking about years of bookmarks, most of them related to my research for my books... All the advice in the support seems to point towards profiles and backups, but, as I said, it's clearly not my case... Please, please, please: help!

I accidentally refreshed Firefox when I was having problems and didn't realize Refresh meant wiping everything clean. I found another thread about this, but it's 8 years old and things have changed. How do I use the "Old Firefox" folder on my desktop to restore all my bookmarks, history, etc.?

Firefox on my mac has been acting buggy lately. The last time I quit and reopened it, all of my windows and tabs were gone. there is no restore previous session available and the recently closed tabs and windows options are grayed out. How can I restore?

My PC died and I could not boot from bootable flash drive.

I had been backing up the system with Acronis to a WD Passport.

I purchased a new computer, and when I did a restore, upon starting Firefox, I did not have my old bookmarks, which are many.

Aren't they stored in a backup? If so, how do I get them back. I'm sure that some of the bookmarks came over from Netscape Navigator.

I lost all my personal data on Firefox as soon as I changed the password and I did not know that you can lose everything that I had registered in the download box and the previous archive. Now I am very, very mentally disturbed and I do not feel safe and I am very sad about what happened to me. I am crying now. What should I do? My psyche is really broken due to the lack of information....

I've just booted my machine and opened Firefox, only to be presented with a completely fresh install.

All my settings, bookmarks and history gone. It was fine yesterday when I closed it and powered down.

I'm running Kubuntu, I've checked the .mozilla folder and nothing...it's like my profile has just been overwritten.

Not happy at all, I'm starting to dislike Firefox.

Can anyone offer any help or advice please?

My wife's Firefox was triggered from an e-mail link and in the process got updated to release 141.0 The result is that the tabs from the previous verion have not loaded. Can I still recover them?

I got a new PC and tried to sign in to my FireFox account to synchronize. But, foolishly, I ended up resetting my password! Don't know why did that, as I was able to locate my password stored elsewhere. I think this action erased all my data in my online profile & I cannot access my account data (bookmarks, user IDs & passwords) online.

Since my data was still in my old PC, I followed the directions for finding my Profile folder. I copied the folder contents to the Profile folder in the new PC. This has not worked.

I realize I wasn't supposed to copy the entire folder contents, which could be the reason why it's not working. Also, the profile folder contained a large amount of data (3 G). So, it's possible that not all files have been transferred correctly.

Please help me!

100% of my bookmarks have disappeared. I tried backing up to older version a month ago and still no bookmarks were found. I had over 2000 bookmarks. any suggestions?? Marty

Hi! i was wondering why my firefox reseted after reboot. i have all the important tabs and bookmarks for my university work, chores and articles, platforms that are mandetory on my uni. also, i was tinkering with partitions before the reboot because my steam didnt want to run any games. i was guided by the chat gpt with terminal coding to do get steam working even tho i didnt solve the problem. is there any way you can help me?

Firefox did an automatic update today. But now all of my saved bookmarks, saved passwords and items are gone in the new version. How can I retrieve them or return to my previous version of firefox?

The initial problem I was dealing with was FF kept directing me to Youtube every time I clicked on a NORMAL link in my google search. 🤷‍♀️ I tried several different links but same result....Youtube again!

This is where I went down the rabbit hole. 🙄 My first step was to get some help with my Firefox browser for this 'redirecting' issue. Under the help heading, "More Troubleshooting Information" I found "Give Firefox a Tune-Up using Refresh". Hmmm, maybe this will fix the issue?? I carefully read the following before proceeding....

"Start fresh to fix performance issues. This will remove your extensions and customizations. You WON'T LOSE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION LIKE BOOKMARKS AND PASSWORDS."

WRONG!!! MISLEADING!!! LIES LIES LIES!!! 😡😤😡

I lost almost ALL of my saved bookmarks except for TEN (the most recently used) that still remained after the refresh was completed! I literally lost over a hundred of them that I had accumulated while using Firefox for so many years!! 😲😣🤦‍♀️ 21 different folders, Home, Travel, Shopping, Banking etc, each containing 10-30 OR MORE bookmarks to sites I need to SAVE to be able to revisit later when needed. ALL GONE!!! 😡😤

I have been loyally using ONLY Firefox as my browser for 2 decades!! Now the only thing I can say about Firefox is a whole lot of curse words!!

WHY WOULD FIREFOX INCLUDE SUCH A #$@&! STATEMENT??? "You won't lose essential information like Bookmarks and Passwords"......YES YOU WILL!!!

This NEEDS TO BE REMOVED!!

Why not be an honest and reliable browser?? Include information that if you perform a refresh, you WILL lose these essentials but you might possibly be able to recover them from hidden files somewhere, but you won't easily know where to find them!! 😉

The next time I have ANY issues using Firefox I won't be 'refreshing' nothing at all!! I won't troubleshoot NOTHING!! I will just copy and save all of my bookmarks and SWITCH TO GOOGLE CHROME!! 👍
