Hello, I just got a new laptop with windows 11. I just did the latest update to Firefox. Everything is a little large but an internet search addresses these: BUT.... The 'bookmark this page', the star in the URL line, menu is small and the fonts are micro. Zooming or changing fonts in the hamburger menu doesn't correct this. Attached. Thank you.

Hi there - Every website seems to come up in English, ie Firefox seems to be translating other languages automatically. (My version is Firefox for Mac 123.01 64-bit.) I am wondering how I can prevent automatic translation of websites. I have had a look in preferences etc, but I do not see anything there to prevent automatic translation. Any help gratefully received! Many thanks :-)

Is it possible to spell check the entire web page using both Hunspell built-in dictionaries and user-defined dictionaries *.dic, already prepared text in Firefox. As it is done in text editors like Libre Office (also uses Hunspell) but for web site, checking the text from top to bottom with errors in a separate window, so spell check is not only in the text input/search field.

Firefox has started making a piercing high-pitched screech when the "save image" and "file update" panels appear. This is a confirmation or alert sound I suppose. It occurs when saving an image from a right-click menu and when downloading a file. Formerly Firefox used the system default sound for this, and that sound is still working in other programs for similar operations.

How can I fix this? Or alternatively how can I disable the sound during such operations in Firefox (or alternatively system-wide)?

When attempting to install an extension and clicking on "Add to Firefox" the button is replaced with a "Cylon" throbber and the popup dialog asking to confirm the install never highlights the "Add" button. The browser will stay in this state indefinitely until the tab for the extension install is closed.

Could this be a permissions problem involving the ".mozilla" directory tree in the home directory? I've been having this problem regardless of the FF version for some time (going back to at least v110.x). The recent issue involves that 115.9 ESR version installed in Debian Bookworm.

With previous versions of Firefox (before 108.0.1) I was able to make changes with about:config to allow a default domain id .com to be added to my Internet query. Example I enter cnn and would get cnn.com and assess the website. WIth 108.0.1 I enter cnn and Firefox cannot find the site. The about:config changes I made are:

 set browser.urlbar.autofill to false, set keyword.enabled to false and set browser.fixup.alternate.enabled to true.

With 108.0.1 how can this be implemented like in the past versions? Thanks

Is there any reason why the menu item text in the URL popup menu is so spaced out in FF 115 and 125?

It's the only menu I've found like that.

See attached screenshots. The one on the left is FF 115, and the one on the right is FF 88 (more normal).

Is there a way to fix this?

And also remove that "Add" menu item at the bottom?

When I open Firefox these days, the window is so big that the toolbar is barely visible. I have to put the cursor in just the right little spot to pull the window down and resize it. It is NOT full screen or maximized, it just opens a huge window that's too far up on the screen. I just want to resize the default window that it opens with.

Since an update from a few days ago (May 2024), my address bar/search bar is now basically outside of my PC screen, see here: https://vimeo.com/948314161

It's not a local problem, it's also happening on other PCs/Laptops I have.

How can I fix this? PS should the answer be that I need an add-on or anything like that, then it's bye bye Firefox, hello Chrome

Just updated a friend's computer from Windows 7 to 10. Installed firefox over previous ESR and now there's no way to remove the search bar from the new tab page. On my W10 system, the search bar isn't there, not sure how or why, but on her's there's no option NOT to show it as there used to be.

I found some VERY old (2014) info on this but doesn't seem to be up to date.

PLEASE give us our options back and stop taking them away, sheesh, getting as bad as Microsoft.

Is there a workaround for this to remove the redundant search bar from the new tab page since you can search from the address bar?

Ridiculous with the new update page saying " A browser that's truly yours My Firefox: More Speed, More Security, More Fun." WHEN YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE IDIOTIC popup spam for the updates NOT EVEN GOOGLE CHROME DOES THAT. And ridiculous it has to LOAD THE UPDATE after restarting the browser lag time and IDIOTIC BRIGHT SCREEN FLASHING even if you have darkmode on, JESUS CHRIST this browser seems ridiculous and FAR WORSE THAN THE OTHERS WHEN EVEN CHROME IS BETTER with these settings and not being pointlessly ridiculous rofl. Hi, i have problem with uninstalling uBlock Origin i cant remove them from extension tab. I tried refreshing firefox, reinstalling, opening firefox with troubleshoot mode and still nothing i dont know why is so difficult.Even when i reinstalling firefox this addon onstalling by itself even when im not logged in.Please help me. I've just updated to Firefox 125 and now, when I start to type in the URL bar and get my suggestion dropdown of previously visited pages, I no longer can see the actual url for each entry. All I see is the top level name for each entry.

This is not helpful, as I may have perviously visited a number of pages on that site and the information shown does not give me a way to differentiate sufficiently between those pages.

How can I get the exact url displayed on the suggestions dropdown.

How can I get those top level descriptions NOT displayed, so that only the urls are shown?

After applied Chinese Language Pack, the menu didn't change ,even after restart firefox or the system. I tried refresh firefox and re-install the language pack, the same situation appeared.
