Recently transferred from Chrome. My understanding was Firefox private browsing was supposed to work similarly to chrome incognito mode; once you close the browser, all local files are deleted and cookies are cleared.

However, with Firefox it maintains my logins. If I log into an account while private browsing and the close the browser, I’ll still be logged in next time I go to the website even if it’s days later (and I have never logged into this account in a non-private browsing window!)

I never had this issue using chrome incognito, so it seems to be a Firefox problem.

Is this just not something Firefox supports? Is there any way to prevent storage of cookies and private data?

I keep getting pop-ups in the right lower corner from "mozilla firefox" (not sure if they are legit). They will say: "zeus.2020 trojan detected" or "virus detected" or "system is infected", etc. All have "Mozilla Firefox" in the upper left of the pop-up, and "via rgfirewall.xyz" at the bottom. Is this truly legit, or is it just a nuisance? I've just been closing them with the x or dismiss buttons.

I clicked on a link in an email and FF began opening it. It then stopped and gave a message that the site was causing FF to run slow. That was an understatement, as FF never continued and didn't fully open the site. I copied the URL to Chrome and it had no problem quickly opening the site. What do I need to fix in FF to make it happy again? I am looking to turn on review checker and cannot see how to do it. I don't have the price tag icon displayed nor do I have any reference to Review Checker in my settings. I'm wondering if my version of Firefox supports it (133.0). Any ideas?

A few minutes ago, when I closed one web site the following poped-up (nextsmartlawyer.com) and I can't get rid of it. Every time I close a web site, this is on my desktop. I even restarted my computer, no help. Is there something I can do to eliminate this?

After last update Firefox will not open my Weebly website editor.

It keeps telling me that Firefox will not allow the page to be displayed if another site has embedded it. It advises me to open the link in a new window.

I keep getting notifications, supposedly from Mozilla and/or Microsoft on lower right of my screen, telling me the system is infected. How do i determine if these messages are valid, or a scam ? Turned computer off and back on--messages keep popping up.

outrageous, i moved from windows to debian for the purpose of exceling my ram capacity on this low spec netbook with 4GB 3.7GB usable with emmc chip and a celeron n4000 cpu turns out ff eats just like in windows.

I am not an expert just savy, remember the time when upgrading from 32MB to 64MB was a big leap? well where the hell did 4GB of ram became obsolete? so there's no windows conspiracy just exponential ram usage?

Is there a different version of FF i could use for this 4GB machine? non-upgradable I could always try vivaldi or look else where but i trust FF for base security. I am using ublock origin on the machine too and 1 custom theme but i doubt that fixes the root cause. Is all the internet in the 2020s this ram voracious beast?

upon loading a empty tab FF uses 500MB for itself forget about the 64MB system ram from the 90s is FF 2025 really so complex or is this a conspiracy? then i load startpage.com and it uses 200MB!! of ram just on that search form man.

So why? You see I have asked questions before..... I have replied before...... It occurs to me that if Mozilla is using Gmail as their sender then perhaps this is a good way for Google to extract information about me.

Perhaps i am somewhat cynical and Mozilla is just trying to be nice...... I have used Firefox it seems like forever.......from Netscape navigator through all the iterations to the present apparent converging on the layout/format with those other browsers. Is this going to be another Thunderbird moment where decisions made about the formatting just happened to follow Gmail & Outlook....well I no longer use Thunderbird, so perhaps its time to say goodbye to Firefox.

I oppose both, and have no use for Firefox if it joins those already disrespecting and monetizing user privacy in those regards. How do I a) ensure I'm getting the plain language notices of further policy updates, and b) register my dismay with Firefox for this betrayal? While you're coming up with an answer, I'll be discontinuing my monthly support for the Mozilla Foundation. I have HAD IT with the greed people ruining everything.

Hi, I saw the post and answer about starting Firefox in Safe Mode in order to get a video to play when it gives an error message about the privacy settings.

This works but I would like to find a solution that doesn't require me to start in safe mode. I recently updated to the new version of Firefox that stops some cookie tracking and I suspect this is why the videos stopped working on a site I use often.

Is there something I can change in settings to allow videos to play on sites where it gives me a privacy/security error message?
