Firefox Nightly cannot be found in the 'Software' store, so probably the only way to download it is by going to the website and getting a tar.bz2 file. I got that, extrated it and placed it in the/opt folder, made an application shortcut, added an icon, and now it's working like a normal app. The problem arises when it tries to auto-update. Firefox Nightly updates very frequently, sometimes more than once per day, and on windows, I used to get a notification saying that a new update is released, and if i wanted to install it. Clicking yes, Firefox would update and restart within moments, and restore all my tabs and windows seamlessly. Here on Linux, I have to manually download the new tar.bz2 file, extract it, replace it in the specified folder, and launch Firefox Nightly again, and again and again usually once per every alternate day, whenever the new update comes. Is there a solution for this? Will Firefox someday release a .deb file for easy installation and updates? My PC : Dell Optiplex 3070 OS : Zorin OS 16 Core (based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS)

For example, http://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html gives the error Status: WebGL creation failed: * tryNativeGL () * Exhausted GL driver options. (FEATURE_FAILURE_WEBGL_EXHAUSTED_DRIVERS)

I'm running Firefox on Debian on ChromeOS.

On about:support, WebGL 1 Driver Renderer: Red Hat -- virgl WebGL 2 Driver Rendered: Red Hat -- virgl

There are no WebGL errors in about:support

I've tried the Troubleshoot Mode but that made no difference.

I use Firefox on two different computers. On one, I'm logged in with bookmarks syncing enabled, and on the other one, no Firefox account is added. I do bookmark and tagging on both. I wonder what will happen with the bookmarks and their tags for the same bookmarked websites after I sign-in on the other computer?

For example, on the signed-in computer mozilla.org is bookmarked with tags: Firefox, mozzila and on the other computer without account mozilla.org is bookmarked with tags: browser, application

After I enable syncing on the second computer, will I get a result of the merged synced bookmark: mozilla.org with tags firefox, mozzila, browser, application or it will get overwritten?

Hi! I use Firefox on Ubuntu 20.04.3. I tried to speed up video on Sharepoint. Right click -> speed -> 2.0 and nothing happend. When I right click -> speed again, I saw that speed still 1.0. Then I went to google, found that Sharepoint allow speed up videos only in HTML5 player. Then I knew that to do that in Firefox I should disable Hardware acceleration, so I did it, but it didn't help. OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco add-on is activate.

Then I decided that's Ubuntu. I install ubuntu-restricted-extras, ffmpeg packages (to support h.264 video), restarted, but again that didn't work.

youtube.com/html5 saying that everything fine.

Firefox 92.0 breaks title bar and all windowing decorations (including focus and key input) running under fluxbox on Linux

Hello all.

I am reaching out since even the fix I had found recently to get v92 functioning again has ceased working.

Since the upgrade to the UI changes in v92, firefox is no longer displaying any of the native windowing toolbar or resizing decorations that are present by default in fluxbox.

I had found a workaround when this new UI came out by manually copying in a userChrome.css and userContent.css files into my firefox profile folder. This restored firefox's old/normal/default behavior of actually displaying the windowmanager titlebar and controls for the application-window so that I could select the window and drag it between my multiple desktops. (the files I sourced were found here: https://github.com/black7375/Firefox-UI-Fix )

Unfortunately though, it appears that even this fix has ceased functioning as I am now stuck with a firefox window that is literally stuck in place where it fires-up. I am no longer able to bring focus to the application, so cannot type into the window. A mouse select only partially selects the application as I am able to navigate mouse-controlled menuing, but am unable to type anything into the application. I am also no longer able to grab the application window and resize it, move it, etc.

This is running on a NOC display with 6 screens, so it is quite critical to be able to grab and move individual windows between multiple screens.

I am a 20+ year user and evangelist for mozilla software and simply need firefox to behave and look like it did before these v92 "fixes" that jacked up the UI.

Whenever I open a new page in firefox it automatically loads a page from the recent history in the new window. This is partly annoying because there is a delay waiting for it to load a page you don't want, but is also quite a big problem when it loads a page from the history that was a pop-up with a reduced size, and sometimes with settings that prevent you from changing the page address.

I don't know why it is doing this but it is unusable behaviour. I've tried restarting the computer (and firefox) but it is still doing it. This is version 92.0 for ubuntu.

I would like to search the bugzilla database for known issues.

While there is a builtin search tool, that does not work: if I search for a string and limit the search to one specific bug where I know it contains the string, then that bug is reported. Doing the same search over all bugs, it (takes long and then) reports that no bug at all contains the string - not even the one where I know it contains the string.

So this search tool is proven defective and cannot be used. What alternatives are there?

I read that Firefox will using the Snap version by default on Ubuntu 21.10 and beyond. Will the non-Snap version still be available in lets say Ubuntu 22.04 and beyond? The reason I ask is because I use Firejail to sandbox Firefox and Firejail doesn't work with Snaps and yes I know that Snaps and Flatpacks both sandbox apps but I prefer Firejail because of the Private Home profile (nothing is saved in this profile settings, bookmarks, add-ons etc) its way more secure than the sandbox offered by a Snap.

In the attached image, the code is indented with 4 spaces, but it displays as if it's 2 spaces because the spaces are thinner than the other characters. In the second image, I've highlighted a single space, which is half the width of the character above it. I also downloaded the latest nightly and this still happens with it.

Github's current `font-family` rule: `ui-monospace,SFMono-Regular,SF Mono,Menlo,Consolas,Liberation Mono,monospace`

In devtools, firefox underlines `Liberation Mono` as the active font-family, but I uninstalled that from my system and it switched to `monospace` (Noto Sans Mono) with the same issue. If I change it to remove the `Consolas,Liberation Mono,` it gets fixed, but when `Liberation Mono` is installed+highlighted and I only remove `Consolas,` it doesn't work til I remove `Liberation Mono,` as well. Note that both `Consolas` and `Liberation Mono` resolve to "Noto Sans Mono" "Regular" in fc-match, which is my default monospace font.
