Hello,

I have used EVERY proposed step in this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems#w_the-problem-does-not-occur-in-troubleshoot-mode

Problem GOES AWAY when FF is used in Troubleshoot mode BUT, when I open FF on normal mode and make sure I UNinstall all addons, extensions, dictionaries, language packs, use default theme and DONT allow hardware acceleration, then the problem STILL persists!!!

It seems that ONLY when in Troubleshoot mode the problem is resolved: NOT by removing all obvious addons or cotrols.

The problem is : ANY download button, does not work! (it is clickable, and yes, the browser seems to respond to it -rapid flickering of browser window- but a download dialogue is never opened -nor a download file is found in any corresponding folder) -then, once in Troubleshoot mode, the same button is normally functional again!

What is a proposed solution to that?

What could control could be behind the problem, that IS NOT USER switchable, but IS INDEED controlled (disabled) when Troubleshoot mode is selected???

Could there be a .json file (corrupted, etc.), that associates with buttons/elements (like the download buttons) and prevents the download to be triggered?, SO THAT maybe if I remove the .json corrupted file the new one will work fine, (maybe such a .json file is NOT loaded during Troubleshoot mode, but IS THERE whatever settings i choose through the settings of the FF)

Thank you.

PS: I have 14 installed plugins, about all same as on my FF93.0 on Win10 laptop, that the packet works just fine!

I don't want the option to mute the tabs at all. I just simply want to switch to the tab when I click on it.

How do I do that?

Firefox just updated a few minutes ago, and since the update my background in every website I visit is white. Previously my backgrounds were all black due to my Windows 10 "High Contrast Theme" being activated. Well since the update it seems Firefox "ignores" the Windows Theme settings and overrides them with its own. As far as I can tell, there is no way to make websites display with a black background like they did before the update. I hope this gets fixed.

After assigning specific websites to always open in specific containers, the next time said site it visited again am faced with the question "Open in assigned container?" with a toggle to remember this decision.

HOW TO ELIMINATE THIS ANNOYING, UNNECESSARY STEP?

Obviously want it to always open in the assigned container, that's why it was already set to 'ALWAYS open site in assigned container.'

How to eliminate this redundant step?

Media keys are not working on Firefox though they're working just fine on Chrome. I can pause playing media in an active tab only with space. I'm unable to use the seek back, forward and pause buttons. It's kind of annoying that I have to open the background tab where the media is playing and pause it with space or my mouse when I could simply hit the pause button while working. I've tried disabling and re-enabling media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled in about:config but nothing happened :( Thanks.

I had Fast Close Tabs addon for Firefox 56 but it does not work in newer FF versions. The addon changed FF's window close button behaviour so that when pressing the window close button only the current tab was closed. This was very convenient and fast way to close a tab because it did not require careful mouse aiming (when window is maximized) or keyboard shortcut. Just move mouse pointer to top right corner of the screen and click.

My understanding is that it is not possible to do similar addons anymore. But I was wondering is it possible to get similar behaviour by using firefox autoconfig file?

There are two events that I have found: - quit-application-requested - browser-lastwindow-close-requested

I don't know which one is the correct one and how to change it's behaviour.

I guess I must use Services.obs.removeObserver method but no idea how.

Hi all,

I am a Linux user (Manjaro) and I've been using Firefox for ages now. I got hold of another computer recently, and I just installed Manjaro Gnome on it as well. I started Firefox, and suddenly I see a UI change, which I don't think is an update, but who knows. In this version of firefox the search bar (along with the new tab, refresh, pocket, etc buttons) are abobe the tab list (which spans the full width). You can see it here https://imgur.com/a/idqp5jb

Moreover, i tried changing themes via the Add-ons Manager and they can't be applied.

When using the Troubleshooting mode, Firefox is back to normal! But in normal mode it is not, so I am not really sure what the problem is. I would be thankful if you could tell me how to fix this.

Hi, I just would like that whenever I open the browser, it would open my saved homepages. If I turn off the computer without closing firefox then the next time I open the browser it will load my previous session. I dont want to load my previous session, I want it to open my homepages every time. I have already unchecked "restore previous session" in the options. It only works if I close the firefox before turning off the computer. Just, please, tell me which option I should uncheck in about:config.

I regularly capture screenshots of pages at 1440 x 900 on a 5K iMac. When I paste these images somewhere they appear as 2880 x 1800.

I've tried messing around with the settings, but can't seem to find a way to make the final image 1440 x 900. Setting the DPR only seems to work if it's at 2. If it's at 1, the screen shot is the right dimension, but is missing 75% of the image.

Even though I'm on a HiDPI screen, I would love to be able to capture a 1440 x 900 screen and have the image actually end up being 1440 x 900. Is there a trick to this?

I'm using a web app that uses this shortcut (alt+shift+s), but every time I press this to trigger that action annoying menu bar pops up with the history panel opened. I've already disabled menu opening while pressing alt by making [ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses to false] . Now how do I disable this? Also, It would be great if I could remove this menu bar altogether permanently.

Subsequent prompts after the first prompt has a Don't allow prompts from this host again checkbox. I want to remove this checkbox and always allow prompts from the host. The prompt is generated using JavaScript confirm box. Is there a setting in firefox that can help me achieve this? I have tried playing around with notification settings but that hasn't helped me

Attached is a photo with the prompt that shows the checkbox which I want to remove. Sorry for the bad quality

Hi!

I want to change the default serif and monospace fonts (Atkinson Hyperlegible and Hack, respectively) in Firefox. However, the fonts that are listed in the advanced font settings appear to be a specific list that doesn't update with the system-installed fonts, so I cannot pick the previously mentioned fonts. I tried working around by tweaking with the about:config values, but so far no luck. Any advice?

Thanks in advance, Lucas

I am reading many articles online that show how to adjust margins and print labels, but then when I try to apply this to actual Firefox the options are not there.

Why were these removed? This is yet another reason i CANT use firefox anymore. Because the interface is degenerating so fast nothing is useful anymore. Now I can't even print a simple label without it extending outside of the margins. FF please work on fixing your software, but please stop removing useful options. thx
