I.m an 81 year old man , and It is very difficult for me to use the computer, and now you make it more difficult for me with this new addition of Thunderbird that makes it more complicated for me,My question is: can I continue using Firefox with out Thunderbird ( that I don't like it ) ?

I am not sure what to do first. I already paid for the VPN subscription. I reinstalled Mozzilla VPN but have not yet put the sudo lines in that are listed in the help on Firefox. Can you send me an email with instructions and any special sudo lines I need to intall so I do not get charged a second time. I heve the recovery code. I am new to Mint. Windows 11 started knocking out my hardware with power surges. Had to come from the operating system itself since the machine is hooked to a power backup that smoothes the current out. A problem with an x.0 version? I've been using FF from "source code" for years on Debian Linux, but this is the first time such an update is failing after the most recent update to v133.0, as illustrated in attached image. How can I now update to the fix for this problem, please?

Help/About Firefox tells me I have - ver 112.0.1 (64-bit)

There is no option to automatically update.

I have downloaded this zip file - firefox-130.0(1).tar.bz2

QUESTION - How do I instal the update  ? - or can I not with my system - as below

Xtra-PC - Turbo 32 × 1 (purchased 2019)

Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS

Running on 2010 Acer 4741G computer. 4Gb RAM Intel i5 2.27Ghz

I'm very much computer-ignorant. I'm getting messages on various sites that I need to update my current browser. Downloaded latest Firefox, but lost as to next step. I'm on LinuxMint.

That is the first line in the Hippocratic Oath. All doctors have to swear to it. All software developers should too.

I made the mistake of letting Firefox on KUbuntu update. It obliterated all my tabs and all my history. There's nothing left. I had a lot of tabs open with intent to use them to update some astronomy instructional activities. I don't know if I'll be able to find them again.

I don't really have a question except to ask: What fresh hell is this? Is it really that hard to just leave things the hell alone? I'm afraid to ever update Firefox again. If everything else wasn't based on Chromium, I'd be out of here.

Also, it looks like something out of Windows 7.

It's all gone. It's a wonder you didn't delete all my bookmarks while you were at it.
