I have been trying to clear out the cache under settings (cookies & site data) (everything is checked under clear data) everything clears out except for 440 now 454 KB of disk space. I cannot get it to clear out. I even uninstalled fire fox and it was clear for a couple of uses and now it is back and instead of 440 it is now 454. ••• Cookies and Site Data Your stored cookies, site data, and cache are currently using 454 KB of disk space. Learn more Based on your history settings, Firefox deletes cookies and site data from your session when you close the browser. ••• How do I zero it out. I find this annoying.

Thank you, Teri

When I click on Privacy & Settings and then Cookies and Site Data and select Clear Browsing Data and the select everything. It does not seem to clear the cache when I select Clear

This is what shows up: Your stored cookies, history, site data, and cache are currently using 108 MB of disk space.

I had expected it to be close to zero.

What's the scoop?

One of the recent updates changed Firefox's behaviour. It now remembers my login status to various sites when I close the browser. For example, if I was logged in to facebook when I closed the browser, I will be logged in when I open the browser and navigate to facebook.com. This was not the case until very recently (a few weeks at most). Is there a way to change this?

I have strict privacy settings, and Firefox should delete all cookies when it is closed. There are no 'exceptions'. I have 'always use private mode' checked for history. Also: I haven't changed any settings recently - something changed in Firefox.

Any advice? Thank you.

Hello, I have been aware of this issue for about a month now. I have, for example, added 3 sites to my "Block" list under "Manage Exceptions" in "Cookies and Site Data". They are not only repeatedly disappearing from the exceptions list without my input (which I suppose is the bigger issue), but even when they are present, the websites still end up storing cookies and site data for the session. These sites are Wikipedia, Bing, and DuckDuckGo.

In addition, I've also added a finance website to the "Allow" list, as the browser is set to delete cookies on quit. This website has also repeatedly disappeared from the exceptions list without my input.

My version of Firefox updates regularly via the Linux Update manager. I am also wondering if the "Forget about this site" option in the History menu generates this (at least to me) unexpected behaviour. I would expect that using the "Forget about this site" option would delete site data, cookies, and history, but not remove it from my Cookies exception list...

In Firefox, I have several windows open, each with many tabs. (And BTW, I love the Firefox tab-organization feature.) I would like to empty the cache and delete all cookies. Will that close the open tabs? Is there a way to delete the cookies, empty the cache and preserve all windows & tabs?
