The camera won't turn on in the Firefox browser for Google Meet or Zoom. It says it can't find the camera or that it's turned off. I have checked my Windows 11 settings and desktop apps have access to the camera. I have also checked the settings for each of the sites and use of the camera and microphone are allowed. Autoplay is enabled too. The camera works fine in other apps and in other browsers.

I use firefox as my browser of choice because it seems to be the only large browser not yet completely flooded with AI slop and bloatware. I'm incredibly disappointed that the new direction seems to be "becoming a modern AI browser". I don't care if I can opt-in or opt-out of AI tools for my personal browser experience - simply their presence presents a safety, efficiency, ethical and privacy concern.

The ONE THING that puts firefox above other browsers and why it is gaining more users recently is because it hasn't jumped into the AI-toilet along with Chrome etc. Yet. If Firefox moves forward with the implementation of more AI tools, regardless of individual opt-in options, I will have no choice but to stop using firefox. I am simply not interested in wading through excrement.

I'm not certain if this question comes under Firefox or not:

How do you stop a specific computer software program-app pop-up notification (popping out from the lower right corner of your computer)?

As an example, I have a utility program, IOBIT Malware System Care that pops-up various notifications such as "update notice," "renew," "discount sale" or whatever notice or ads that is 'pushed'.

-I went to my Windows 11 list of installed app "notifications" and this program is not listed. -I tried contacting tech support but they haven't responded. -I went to Firefox 'Settings' -> Privacy & Security->Permissions and then I opened up 'Exceptions' to see if I can block something. It wants me to put in a specific website. The issue is not a website but coming within a software / app program.

So how and where do I stop a "pushed' notification? I assume it's coming in via my browser / Firefox?

I have tried the suggestions as described in the following article: https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1273784 However, am still having the issue. It's as if the settings are totally ignored. I am using version 108.0a1 of Firefox developer edition. Ideally what am trying to achieve is away to disable all features of ETP. I figured setting it to custom with all values unchecked would have done the trick but it's not working. What works is if I add the site to the list of Exceptions for Enhanced Tracking Protection, then I will see all Ads loaded just fine on the page. However, this is not viable for me as I have a large list of sites that I visit, and I need to see the ads on them.

Does anyone know of a way to get around this feature in FF?

Is there another setting am missing from the previous article?

I just want to say that if Firefox goes through with this AI bs, I will promptly be finding a new browser. The whole point of me using Firefox is it is the best browser for privacy, which I care about greatly. AI integration and personal privacy are mutually exclusive; they can't exist without each other. So do not become an "AI browser," or whatever the CEO called it. It is only going to kill a great product that is basically the only thing stopping google from having a web browser monopoly.

If I were to delete my Mozilla account, would I be automatically signed out of both my Mozilla account and my Mozilla Support account across all devices?

Also, when deleting my Mozilla account, is any and all information related to both my Mozilla account and my Mozilla Support account deleted?

When I visit the web site virtueonline.org using Firefox browser, the Disqus comment section does not appear below articles on the site. Sometimes, when I go in and out of the article, the Disqus comment section will appear, but not always. When I use Microsoft Edge, the Disqus comment sections appear.

Firefox releases email addresses and our data to third parties!

I installed the Arc browser and Arc offered to load my bookmarks from mozilla. Out of curiosity, I let it, and it loaded my bookmarks and folders smoothly. Arc didn't navigate Firefox to the login page, so Firefox released my information without asking me.

What probably happened in the background was that the Arc browser told Firefox which email address it was requesting data from, and Firefox handed over the data to it "on notice". Firefox was not even convinced that the real owner of the email address asked the Arc browser to synchronize the folders.

I do not have any ad blockers and have disabled "Block pop-up windows" in Firefox and turned off "Enhanced Tracking Protection" for sites but I still get the message that I am blocking ads.

So, for several reasons I decided to completely disable SSL and the old TLS 1.0 and 1.1. I still didn't decide if TLS 1.2 is still important or it's enough with 1.3 so for now I am leaving them both. I did this system wide, with PowerShell, following the instructions in THIS THIS article.

But then there's Firefox. I don't know if Firefox can establish SSL (or old TLS) connections despite the system "ban". But I came across THIS THIS article about how to enable TLS 1.3 in Firefox and when I went in about:config and I typed "security" I saw that there are a lot of voices with SSL and a lot more about TLS than just the security.tls.version.max mentioned in that article, so I am here to ask you what to do to be 1000% sure that all SSL and older TLS are completely disabled in Firefox, and that only TLS 1.3 is enabled.

If you have reasons to believe that disabling TLS 1.2 is not a good idea, let me know, but in THIS THIS article I've read that 1.3 is much better and it's anyway backwards compatible with 1.2 in case some server only supports 1.2, so I decided to leave only 1.3.

I am trying to let Google Translate use my microphone. I haven't gotten a pop-up asking for it to use my microphone, and I've looked in settings on the site permissions panel and it isn't coming up. I recently purchased a Sandisk Ultra Flair flash drive because I wanted to password protect some files. The flash drive requires me to download the Private Access software from the Western Digital web site. When I try to do this the Mozilla browser states "Malicious Download Detected" and cancels the download. Does anyone have any suggestions? I went to the Privacy and Security part of Settings, and unchecked the Deceptive Content setting, but Firefox still would not let me download the software. Perhaps the change to the setting I tried did not register in Settings, but here I am asking for your help. Thanks.
