How to get rid of the half-dozen old search sites from very top of each new page, directly under browser box. Those sites are places I no longer use, e.g., from my old job; from a Wiki search done ages ago. I have searched for help. I never see "three dots" when I hover my cursor above the offending items.

I was using Chrome. My daughter recommended Fire Fox for my MacBookPro. I did. Now I need to clean up this problem.

Hi all. I'm trying to add Instapaper's 'Send to Kindle Bookmarklet' to the Menu Bar of Firefox on Mac and it won't work.

I've followed Mozilla suggestions when bookmarklets fail to add (essentially it's about making sure the places.sqlite-wal file in the Profiles folder is unlocked -- which it now is), but nothing changes.

Following other articles online, I've discovered that Bookmarklets in general (ie not just this one) won't install, though I have cookies temporarily off, pop-ups temporarily unblocked, the specific site marked as an exception etc, but nothing works.

Because it's not just an Instapaper issue, I'm hoping someone here more tech-minded than me might know the solution.

I keep most of my bookmarks under the "Bookmarks Toolbar"; I have quite a few of them.

I've always enjoyed the ease and utility of the "Add Folder..." menu item in "Manage Bookmarks", but now it fails on each and every attempt to add a new folder! For example, if I select a folder under "Bookmarks Toolbar", right click that folder, and select the "Add new folder..." item from the drop-down menu Firefox simply "freezes up" - becomes totally non-responsive (spinning beach ball!).

The only way I've been able to recover is using the macOS "Activity Monitor" to "Force Quit" Firefox! If I repeat the "Add Folder..." process described above - Firefox "freezes up" again. I've tried re-booting, and that doesn't cure the problem.

Without trying to confuse the primary issue, I have noticed other "bad behavior" from Firefox:

1. 1. Firefox "disappears" from the menu bar regularly. I can get it back by moving to another desktop, and returning to the desktop with my Firefox windows. However, it will disappear again in short order.

1. 2. Firefox is very slow loading some of the web pages I visit regularly.

When did this start? It started very recently. I have a new (about two weeks old) MacBook Pro. The "Add Bookmark.." issue began only today, but the other issues I mentioned have been around longer.

This is frustrating... I suspect this is caused by Apple's macOS software, but of course have no way to prove that! And in the "FWIW Column": my Chrome browser has basically the same function and interface for adding folders, and it still functions flawlessly.

Although I have my Bookmarks Toolbar set to "Always Show," none of the bookmarks are visible (and therefore, they're not functional, either). I have tried refreshing Firefox (it just hangs on "almost done") and downloaded /reinstalled the application. I have no idea what to try next (Mac Desktop).

I want to add a site: http://www.flexmls.com to my bookmarks for auto sign on. I can't seem to do this. can you assist?

Tell me how to stop advertisers from interferring with my rows of bookmarks since many times they take my upper left bookmark location which is the one I use most often. But weird bookmarks are showing up all the time and I continually have to remove them.

I would like to understand why Firefox places newly added bookmarks at the bottom of the selected bookmark folder instead of at the top.

In most cases, users want quick access to the bookmarks they have just saved. When a folder contains many bookmarks, having new entries appended to the bottom makes them harder to find and requires additional scrolling.

Is this behavior intentional? If so, what is the reasoning behind it? Has Mozilla considered adding an option that allows users to choose whether new bookmarks are inserted at the top or bottom of a folder?

I believe placing new bookmarks at the top, or providing a configurable option, would improve usability for many users.

I keep a lot of bookmarks, organized into folders. Many of those folders are in my bookmarks toolbar. And many of subfolders. When I click a folder (and subfolder), bookmarks present themselves from top to bottom in order of when they were added. But I'd like to see them in order of when they were last added! ...so the most recently added bookmark is the first option I see. Is there a way to achieve? Thanks in advance!

My question is how do I temporarily remove my bookmarks. I have many bookmarks, hundreds, and I want to disable them temporarily for a few days so they can't be seen by another person using my computer. How can I disable them, but then make them all reappear a few days later? Can someone help? Appreciate the help. Thank you.

The instructions on the page for fixing the error message about bookmarks and history not functioning refer to a Windows system, which I don't use on my Mac. Nor can I find anything under Virus & Protection in my Privacy & Security settings. I'm unclear what to try next, so are you able to advise? Many thanks in advance for your help! Meredith Rose

bold text My prior version of Firefox had a line near the top where commonly used links (e.g., google calendar) could be accessed. My current version no longer has that. Can I recover those links and is there a way of having convenient access to them with the current version?

As of yesterday, I lost access to my bookmark toolbar and have gone over Firefox instructions about how to recover it without any success. It sends me to the library link and everything I do from there doesn't work.

For the past week, my sidebar doesn't automatically appear when I go to Firefox. It doesn't show up even if I click on it. I will show up if I quit Firefox and re-open it.
