Dear Support,

Since ages ago I've always logged into Firefox and turned on sync so whichever device I was on (or if I have formatted my PC) I would still have acces to my browser history, tabs etc. Today I've formatted my PC to switch from win 10 to win 11 and logged into firefox as usual, but after trying to Sync nothing happens. My tabs, my history, everything is empty for some reason and I cannot find my original device (the one from a few hours ago connected in win 10) in my connected devices list either.

Please help me, my whole life is in that sync :(

Hi! I recently lost my old laptop and I'm trying to setup my new laptop without a backup. I was logged into my mozilla account on my old browser before I lost it, but I'm not seeing any of my old tabs, bookmarks, and extensions from my old browser syncing to my new browser. Is there anything I can do to retrieve this data without having access to my old laptop? Thank to anyone who can help!

I have just completed migrating my files and settings from my (not so) old windows 10 desktop computer to my windows 11 laptop. Everything seems to have gone ok, except that the Firefox bookmarks were installed and only work in the private browsing window. When I start Firefox normally, the window that opens does not have the bookmarks, and even if I enter a web address manually in this window, it will not connect. I can choose "New window" in the drop down menu and that window will have the bookmarks, but still will not connect. The only way to get the bookmarks and also be able to connect to the internet is to choose "New private window" from the drop down menu. The problem with that is that there have been occasions when I have had a need to examine my browsing history, which I can't do since Firefox doesn't save the history when in private window mode. I have tried the procedure to sync bookmarks, history, etc., but the procedure is somewhat confusing and didn't work for me. Can you simplify the procedure for me? Thanks, John Blakley

i recently had to get a new computer and had set up sync for everything however when i logged in to my new device none of my synced data was saved is there any way to get this data back i have passwords that i need that firefox forced me to use a secure generated and saved ones that i dont know

I reinstalled Windows and downloaded the browser again. I logged into my account, turned on synchronization, but none of the data was synced. I am absolutely sure that synchronization was enabled on my old browser. I tried turning it off and on again, but nothing helps. Please help me get my data back!

I have Firefox on Windows desktop and on my android phone. I have logged into both. When I click on "tabs from other devices" I only see tabs from another PC I use.

I tried logging out of Firefox Android and using the desktop browser's "connect another device" link to log back into it, but it still doesn't appear as a device. What am I missing?

EDIT: Ok now Android tabs are showing up, but not all of them. Seems to cut off after about 40. Anyway to get Firefox Desktop to show all Android tabs?

I wanted to synch my current settings in my browser to import them on my new laptop. When I tried to login to my account, I the message from the attached screenshot appeared. So I created a new profile, got my stuff back to what it should be and then deleted the "new" profile. But now every time I try to get into the correct profile and login into my account, I still get the message from the screenshot. I never ever synched with another profile before and never had an issue in the past. Right now I am rather pissed off, because I lost atleast some of my bookmarks during this whole ordeal.

I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I was under the impression that my bookmarks would be saved to my Mozilla account and I could then log in on the new computer and the bookmarks would come over also. Is this accurate or will I have to go about recovering my bookmarks a different way?

As of now when I log into Mozilla I get a message at the top saying "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. I clicked Learn more and tried the troubleshooting options, but no luck in fixing the message or issue. Thanks for your help.

My syncing my desktop to my Android phone has stopped. When I try to sync, nothing happens. I'm trying to sign in and you system keeps on telling me to check my Microsoft Authenticator, but nothing happens there (on the phone) and I don't see authenticator on my desktop. I've recently changed some passwords (not Firefox) and need my phone Firefox updated. Please help.

I reinstalled a new win11 and downloded fresh firefox. Sync is not working and I have no previous data to resume working. All tabs and logins are not showing in new firefox. Pls fix the issue.

Hi, I created mozilla account and turned on synchronization to save my passwords, history, etc. After I done it, I formatted my pc. Now I've just downloaded mozilla and log in to my account to see that NONE of my data were saved... How is it even possible? I turned synchronization on and then selected which data I want to save. Will you be able to help my with that?

after reinstalling the OS, Firefox stopped synchronizing most of the data. Bookmarks were not transferred, and passwords and extensions were transferred less than half

so i was using my pc (and firefox) normally, when i then turned off the machine as usual.

when i turned my pc on again and opened firefox, everything was gone, i wasn't signed in and all my bookmarks and several home url's were not there, you don't need me to tell you that's not normal.

of course, i followed the most logical course of actions, i signed into my firefox account (from which i am sending this ticket), and expected all my data to magically sync, which it didn't, so i then tried to sync in manually, looking for any backup file on my pc (i couldn't find any, though i can't say i know what one looks like so...)

hopefully this can be fixed because i had auto-sync on and it would be a bummer to lose everything and slowly rebuild my browser ui from the ground up

Hi,

I changed my password in my Mozilla account and now I can no longer sync my firefox for android.

I scan the QR code and on my android screen proceeded normal and asking me to confirm but in my desktop I get an error.

"General application error Something went wrong. Try again later."

I also tried in safe mode with no luck.

What to do now?

i had to restore windows 10 (some things weren't working at all after some maintenance) i performed the restore with the option to keep the files i then installed firefox logged into my google account via gmail page then in firefox itself to restore bookmarks and everything else (same google account)(i had to reset the password via google account) now i dont get all the things saved/synced: no bookmarks, no passwords, extensions, etc. please help

I have made a fresh install of Windows 11 from Windows 10, and after logging into my account everything syncs, apart from my bookmarks. As i have made a fresh install, i deleted all of my old files on the computer. Is there any way to get my bookmarks back?
