Greetings,

I've noticed that since the recent update to 85.0.2, right clicking in the search bar to paste information on Google no longer functions properly.

If I've just opened the browser, and not done a thing with it, it will work. If I've visited any sites at all, and used the 'home' button to get back to Google, or opened a new tab to do so, right clicking the search field does not open the contextual menu as it should.

Other search engines work fine, and oddly enough, if I type something random into the main Google search page, the search field on the results page (at the top of the page) works as it should. The only issue appears to be with the 'main' search field on any but the initial opening of the browser home page.

I'm not sure of the cause, beyond noting that it began right after I updated to 85.0.2.

Hey,

I've been having a problem for the past few weeks that has persisted across updates and across editions (stable, nightly, developer edition etc.). When trying to open a file picker either for uploading a file on a website or for using "save as..." in context menu nothing happens.

I've launched it via console to check for any possible errors and tried in safe mode but it just fails silently.

Another thing I've tried is running Firefox with "GTK_USE_PORTAL=1" and installing xdg-desktop-portal & xdg-desktop-portal-kde to make Firefox use KDialog but same problem.

Drag and drop still works fine and the issue is limited to Firefox, other browsers open file dialogs normally.

Thank you very much for your help in advance!

After dragging firefox icon to dock on mac, unlike safari, it asks for user id and password each time I want to use it, sending notification by e-mail about the log in. Is this necessary as safari doesn't need this, and if so, is it easier just to use safari as default browser instead of firefox? Or can this be changed in settings without harming my security, as I'm using it on my mac from home. Some things work better with Firefox, but it I have to login and enter a password each time to use it, then it makes it cumbersome to use Firefox as a default browser. Thank you, First time user of Firefox on Mac.

I am using Multi-account Containers and I have two Gmail accounts. One is a personal account. The other is for work. I get them into their own container but when I bookmark them to put them on my toolbar, they both go under the same label that I have given to the last bookmark that I created. I have reversed them, deleted them and started over on the bookmark(s). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi-- I saw a banner while changing my Firefox settings that warned me about my organization controlling the browser. I found it strange since I don't belong to any organization and this is my personal computer, so decided to click and saw a certificate for "ImportEnterpriseRobots" (see screenshots).

Does anybody know what this could be referring to? Is it a privacy breach or something legit from Mozilla/one of my extensions?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone, I created a "positive list" of websites, I want cookies to stay, any other should be deleted after browser shutdown. I have a problem with the website de.pons.com It is in the exception list but everytime, I go to that website the cookie accept procedure starts again.

Could you add the exception list to the things to sync?

How can I make a backup of this list?

Thanks for all comments.

My tabs keep crashing (Gah! Your tab has crashed) when browsing. I have not discovered a particular pattern or specific website(s) that may be causing it. Crashes started happening around 2/21. Occasionally, the entire browser would crash and I would need to restart it.

Here are a few of the most recent crash reports.

I installed Firefox onto my third device, and it synced my data, including my extensions. The only thing is, they don't show up in my tool bar like they do on my other devices. I tried several different things, but the icons for the extensions don't even show up in the customization tab. They don't autofill or work at all, despite saying that they are installed and active.

When I try to print anything in Firefox, the print preview window comes up with a spinning cursor where the page preview belongs, and it takes two minutes before it goes away and the actual preview appears. Only then can I actually print. Whatever process is taking two minutes even prevents me from quitting Firefox -- if I try to quit within that two minutes the FF window does close, bu* Bulleted list itemt the app itself doesn't shut down (as seen from the icon in the dock) until those two minutes have elapsed.

I can bypass the wait by clicking Print Using System Dialogue at the bottom right of the preview window, so I have a workaround. (Although whatever process it's waiting for is still going on, since I still can't quit FF until those two minutes elapse!)

Thanks for any help!

I know this is a longshot. I used Firefox for the last couple of years with Seagull Scientific's BarTender software on my Windows 7 pc. Now my PC was wiped out and Windows 10 as part of my company's initiative to get everyone up to Windows 10. BarTender uses a driver to talk to your print drivers and provide a status back to the BarTender server and webpage that we use. After the move to Windows 10 Firefox will not work with BarTender. It works in MS Edge and Chrome.

I've got a ticket into Seagull Scientific and I can foresee how this will go. They will point me back to Firefox and then I'll get pointed back to the vendor. I know it will be hard to find someone with a similar issue. But maybe someone had some issue with another driver, etc that stopped talking to Firefox.
I've tried to turn off all of Firefox's protection stuff that might be interfering and still not working.
I have used Firefox and prefer it over any others. But I also don't like the idea of having to change browsers depending on what I'm doing. Besides, this software I have to regularly use. So if I can't find a solution I may have to abandon use of Firefox.

Hello, I use a popular website hrca.net (Hornby Railways Collectors Association). Since about 12th February this year attempted access just times out saying the site is busy or down. I get the same problem using other browsers. Firefox flags a certificate/name/address error warning which can be bypassed but not very convenient and possibly unsafe. The owner of the website asked me to try the IP address as a test and it works perfectly. Why is Firefox suddenly flagging this problem after 6 years of using this site without any issues? The website owner says no other users have reported any problems. There are 2000+ users. I have tried clearing the cache, disabling add-ons and resetting Firefox. Using CMD tracert I have discovered the IP address called by hrca.net on my laptop is not the same as the one supplied by website owner. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to view a list of Purchase Orders in my web-based ERP system (Unanet) but when I go to search, only 1 out of the 5 PO's appear. I have contacted Unanet support and they logged into my account and were able to view all 5 PO's, so we're certain the issue isn't within the ERP. It's either with my computer or browser. See attached image for reference, there should be 5 Purchase Orders listed. There seem to be a few errors in my console (on the bottom of the picture) but I'm not sure how to fix them. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Upon startup, firefox opens multiple windows and instances, essentially utilizing all of the resources, and freezes up the computer and keeps me from accessing any other functions. An error box(es) pops up stating that Firefox is already running but not responding, and as quick as I can hit the "close Firefox" button (when it lets the mouse work), more just pop up behind it. I keep clicking (when resources let me) and they just keep multiplying, until eventually everything just freezes up and the only thing left to do is a hard power down using the power button.

For reference, this is an older laptop (HP dv6-6135dx running Windows 10 Home) that is seldom used. It had been sitting for several months, and when I first turned it on it was fine. There were several windows updates downloading, and I had opened Firefox, which gave me a pop up that said something to the effect of "it looks like you haven't used firefox in a while, would you like to refresh" or something like that, so I selected yes to refresh. Firefox shut down briefly and then came back up and seemed to be working fine. The problem occurred when I restarted the computer to complete some of the installs. As soon as it came back up, Firefox went on the warpath, behaving as described above, and completely taking over the computer rendering it unusable. I have shut down and restarted several times using the power button, but each time it goes back to the same behavior.

So, my ultimate question is: Since I can't access anything on the computer due to this problem, is there any way to boot up around this issue and perhaps remove/disable Firefox? Again, just to be clear, once the computer has booted up I can do absolutely nothing as all of the resources are sucked up by Firefox and I can not get anything else to open. Occasionally it will allow me to move the mouse slightly, but only for a split second or so.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
