Recently found a problem of high GPU usage when watching videos. I have encounter this on other websites but YouTube is the most prevalent. Currently running is a NVIDIA 4060ti and the percentages I am getting range from a low of 15 to the high of 28. Hoping to gather some information on the topic and would love some explanation. I have already tried with no extensions enabled but had no luck in stopping the issue. Version 132.0.2 (64-bit) on a Windows 10 desktop.

How to Disable "Click" Sound Effect In Firefox and Thunderbird?

Firefox version 132.0.1 Thunderbird version 128.4.0esr O/S: PCLinuxOS Debian Edition (Debian 12 Bookworm) with KDE 5

I am getting a "Click" sound effect when I click Menu Bar items in both Firefox and Thunderbird, Bookmarks in Firefox, Folders in Thunderbird and some other items in both. I can not find a way to turn it off. It does not happen in any other applications, including other web browsers that are forked from Firefox, so I think it is a Mozilla problem.

This is a relatively new installation that was set up copying settings from Firefox on Windows 10 using Firefox Sync. I did not copy anything from Windows Thunderbird because my email is IMAP which brings in everything from the server. I am not getting this clicking sound in Windows Firefox and Thunderbird.

I am GUESSING that the sound effect is due to an Accessibility setting that is buried somewhere, maybe in one of the text-based "about...." configuration files, but I don't know where to look. I have gone through the Linux KDE System Settings and the Settings in Firefox and Thunderbird several times trying to find it. I will note that I set up Firefox and Thunderbird in the same Linux distro on a laptop also using Firefox Sync and do not have this problem with the laptop. Can anyone tell me where to look to get rid of this irritating noise?

Thank You!

I have two installations of Firefox. One windows10 and one Linux. BOTH are doing the same thing on this site https://www.rapidonline.com/

I cannot scroll using the mouse roller. Page up/down doesn't work. Middle click and drag doesn't scroll either. BUT, for the briefest of time, BEFORE the Firefox shield in the address bar, I can scroll.

Hovering over the blue shield shows the text... Blocking social media trackers, cross site tracking cookies, and fingerprinters. Turning the Firefox protection OFF makes no difference, other than the shield is white and struck out. Disabling uBlock origin, or malwarebytes makes no difference. Both my installations do the same BUT, I called a pal who also uses Firefox on Linux and windows and he reports all is well and he uses uBlock, but not malwarebytes.

I have not actively messed with my settings on either platform. Oh, I was told to clear the cache. No joy.

Why does Firefox think it is blocking stuff but turning the protection off makes no difference? Why should two separate installations behave identically? Why does my pal's Firefox using Linux work on this site 100% ? I feel like I am going insane...

I see this as a performance problem, and one that I'd hoped would be solved by now, since others brought it up in an Apple Forum.

When using iCloud Notes, the list always used to have empty circles/radio buttons to click on when done. They have all become black squares instead. Apparently this happened, according to a poster, with version 131.0. If so, it is still a problem with version 132.0.2, which I currently have.

Please see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255794426?sortBy=rank where this appears in the Apple Forum.

Over the past several days, Firefox has been randomly shutting down. When reopened, my previous tabs have disappeared. While setting up my laptop on a docking station today, I had to reboot several times. Every time it reopened my previously opened tabs are gone. Yes, I have Settings set to re-open Firefox with previously opened tabs. It has worked beautifully for me for years. Does anyone know what is going on? What I can do?

Firefox does not seem to be properly configured for Wayland on KDE Plasma 6.x systems. The generic "Wayland" logo appears in task switcher instead of the Firefox logo. Firefox is the only program I have with this issue. Setting desktop name (org.mozilla.firefox) as a property in the Window and Application Manager settings does not resolve the issue.

Yesterday I uploaded a bunch of pdfs on my wordpress website and they display the title, image captions, byline and other miscellaneous text, but NOT BODY text, incorrectly on Windows Firefox and ONLY on Windows Firefox. Mac works fine, Windows Chrome, Edge work fine but Windows Firefox displays the affected text as individual boxes with letters in them. This may be broader than the font settings on one computer as I have replicated the issue on several PCs. Interesting though that when I download the embedded pdf, and it's displayed in the page, the fonts ARE CORRECT!!! You can see the issue here: https://davegibsonimages.com/air-force-vs-navy/ or you can look at the screenshot I took. I've contacted the developer of the embedder plugin and they are seeing a 404 error for the affected pages, which is NOT replicated elsewhere, but since it returns a 200, they're convinced that it's not a problem with their plugin. Godaddy is of course saying all is well on their end. I've cleared all the available caches, to no avail, and of course refreshed pages.

Several sites I use regularly (for instance, The Guardian) use recaptcha as part of the login process. It fails on Firefox, though I can log in on Chrome. I dislike Chrome, and prefer Firefox for several reasons, including that it is easier on my eyes. I note that there are many complaints describing the same thing that I experience: recaptcha fails to load, or there is simply a blue circle turning in perpetuity with nothing happening. I have removed recent cookies etc, but no change.

There are some sites that use recapcha that I can sign in on using Firefox with no problem. I am wondering if there are different versions of captcha? This started the same week both Microsoft and Firefox updated. Firefox has updated several times since then, but recaptcha is still nonfunctional: FF is not loading it, at least on some critical sites (perhaps the ones that use the most recent recaptcha?

I have reported this frequently for last several months. I notice that this is a continuing problem for many people. Why is it not fixed?

I'm not sure if there was an update around the time, but I believe I checked and saw there was. Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to get them back? This is my wake up call to completely stop using the password manager feature of any browser ever. Totally disappointed

Firefox was crashing so I found the folder in C:Program Files and renamed it before a new install. I downloaded the new Installer and installed Firefox again thinking all would be saved, but now, my bookmarks are missing and the history from the last few weeks are gone and started with the date I re-installed it. I have an old AT&T email that is now Yahoo and been using it for years. I tried to log in and I get a different screen asking about an ID which I don't have. Firefox always launched showing this icon to start yahoo as well as Chase Ect...ect and all are gone.

Is there a way to point to the old folder, after changing it back to original name and get back to previous version?

I did find another Mozilla file under Users,ComputerName,AppData, Local. I don't know if it was created with the new install or there before and just updated because I renamed the first file I found and now it's using C:Users to start Firefox. Any help getting back to where I was is appreciated.

Thank you

Tony

Firefox history contains youtube videos I didn't watch (and that aren't in my google youtube history). I've realised they go back May, roughly when I got my new linux machine and installed Firefox. However, they also seem to have been watched outside the time any of my devices apart from my phone are on. They're mostly just junk videos about minecraft etc.

See attached pic - the ones this morning between 5.48 and 7am I didn't have the laptop turned on. My phone was on though, but by the bed.

How has this happened and how can I track down how to stop it?

I'm writing this on my Windows desktop, can send details of other devices if useful.

Hi, A few weeks ago, I wanted to sync my open Firefox tabs between my old laptop and my new one. I signed in to my Mozilla account on both computers, and the sync process worked just fine. For weeks, my synced tabs appeared in my Firefox sidebar on my new laptop, and all was good. However, the other day, I had to restart my computer a few times, and when I open Firefox again, my synced tabs were gone. On my Mozilla account page, it still says that I am signed in to my old laptop. How can I see my synced tabs again? Thank you very much for your help!

Hello! My download settings are (and have always been): always ask where to download files (in all options). In the latest versions, Firefox automatically opens downloads in a new tab without asking and downloads them to the default folder. This is an inconvenience for me. Thank you for your attention
