Firefox is stuck in a loop! After installing the 145 update, it just keeps asking me to sign into with my admin credentials to install "a new helper tool" over and over. After entering my password nothing happens and when I try to relaunch, the FF icon just bounces. ("Force Quit" shows that the application is not responding.) After multiple attempts, I rebooted my laptop, but it didn't help, as I still get the request for installing the helper too. I'm in the midst of multiple project deadlines and this is very frustrating! Thanks in advance for your help.

Bus error firefox $ echo $? 135 ``` Sometimes it can be started but not stable Maybe the problem is: problem with about:sessionrestore, everytime I open it, I can see about:sessionrestore page for short, and when it can start up (sometimes in troubleshooting mode), after choose a option, browser crash, and if I open another tag and close it, browser runs as normal.

I use translation A LOT. (I'm learning a foreign language.) It would help to be able to move or resize the results window. Right now, it covers the original foreign language text. I want to compare the translation with the original text and the fixed size and position of your results window makes that a lot more difficult.

I reinstalled it many times. I also force-quit the process in Task Manager. Basically, I did everything Google told me to do. But everything was the same. It says: Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, the running Firefox process must be terminated. please help

Firefox has begun to instantly crash after opening. This occurs constantly, even though fresh installs, even if I run as administrator. It is the only application doing this, which is beyond weird. It seems to have begun happening after I opened a notepad file. Which seems ridiculous to me but that's when it initially crashed. If more information is required, please let me know, but I cannot even access say, crash logs.

Hi, my Machine updated from 140.0.4 to 141.0 since then I cannot start up Firefox anymore. On startup after a short pause the Crash Reporter shows up - interestingly the Crash Reporter may enter a endless loop and opens up multiple times. While that the CPU load is at 100%. I tried

• `firefox --safe-mode`
• `firefox --ProfileManager`

as well, for those I get the same behavior. I tried downgrading to 140.0.4 - after that a profile dialog shows up which tells me that a new profile needs to be created due to a downgrade. After that Firefox comes up fine with the new vanilla profile. IF Firefox updates to 141.0 (in background) the next startup with the vanilla profile doesn't work gain. Which brings me back to the initial problem.

Workaround for now:

• download 140.0.4
• create a fresh profile
• immediately disable auto update
• live with the empty profile

My environment:

• Linux Debian 12 on x86_64
• KDE Plasma
• nvidia drivers installed
• I am using Firefox from `https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases`

Firefox has been working fine, but today when I clicked to start, I received an error message. "The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable." When trying to uninstall Firefox, Windows cannot find the uninstall helper. When I try to download a new version, I receive an error message: "Couldn't download - virus scan failed." Windows Security reports are all good. A scan found no viruses. Firefox will not open at all.

since 3 days, after initiation of the Firefox the empty page appears with order to close firefox. A have reinstalled the new version several times withour anu change in the program behaviour

I had two profiles, was in the process of trying to learn how to use the 2nd profile (as seen in the link below), which I still have no answer for. Somehow, maybe I held down SHIFT for too long and clicked on something by accident, idk, but somehow, I ended up REFRESHING the 2nd profile, causing it to delete everything I had done with it, and it backed up the old profile onto my desktop in the process. I figured I could just simply delete the new profile folder it had created and put back my old profile in the profile folder, but now, Firefox will not open at all, saying "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." How do I get it to recognize the profile folders again? OMG, I'm using Microsoft Edge, please, get me out of this!

Firefox tab crashes whenever I try to open Firefox. I have AOL and Firefox browser. I've tried the close and reload, restart laptop, and redownloading Firefox to no avail. However, I was able to open my AOL and email. I reached this help page using Edge.

When opening Firefox version 147 it asked if I wanted to install updates and after answering affirmative, then it gave "Error: Platform version '147.03' is not compatible with minversion >=147.02 maxversion <=147.02. Maybe try to reinstall Firefox?" The browser will not open. What is the workaround??

I wanted to refresh Firefox. When I downloaded the installer from the Mozilla website, I got this message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." I finally downlaoded it from the App store and now I get this message "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I can't recollect doing anything lately that would have caused such a problem. I don't mess with the registry, and I don't use rogue programs. I do have a Surfshark VPN, which I disabled to download the latest version of Firefox.

I am running Windows 11 on a Dell PC, which is about 6 months old.

I didn't have any problems until reciently.

How can I fix this?

where is the browser console? how do i fix it never had an issue with until the last two days?

After installing Firefox on a new Windows 11 computer, when I click on the Desktop icon, a Firefox window opens but it doesn't open previous Tabs and the Application menus does not work. I can open new Tabs though and it downloads websites. If I click on the Firefox icon on the Windows Taskbar, Firefox operates normally.

Why doesn't the Desktop icon start Firefox so it works correctly?
