Hello, I am still using windows 8.1 64bit & refuse windows 10, due to high risk privacy, yes predictable hollow words are said, BUT is Microsoft, a greedy un-scrupled money making, money hungry corporate entity, wants us to willing give it our private details voluntarily or under thin layer of extortion.

Hence my sticking to windows 8.1 as I have certain control, mainly updates.

Will Mozilla browsers be specifically supporting older operating systems like windows 8.1 into the coming years, not just months, e.g. until January 2023

Yes is a blunt question, but is eluded against in other responses, maybe is Microsoft buy out to sacrifice mozilla loyal users or similar, same query is for Brave browser. Mozilla I think is last Bastian for decency & morality, a leader in justice & honour.

When I start firefox its stand loading for a short time, and then comes with an error that its was unable to load the window, retry or close it. No matter what wepside i enter to use its always the same. This happen a few days ago and have been troubleshooting my self since. now i need your own help. I have reinstalled it, reset settings, taking it off and on the firewall. Removed all plugins for it. and always come to same conclution. I got the latets installer from the wepside, to make sure its up to the newest version.

Before this issue, it ran fine, no issues what so ever. and one day i needed it was stuck on this problem.

I am useing it on a laptop. atm returned to chrome for help.

Need some help with Firefox crashing. System: Windows 8.1 64 Bit instilled on a Samsung SSD, 24 GB free space, 24 Gigs RAM, Firefox installed on conventional HDD (G:\) drive, 1.03 TB free space. This has been the standing configuration for many years, working with no problems.

Problems began with FF update 111.0. Any attempt to download files (.jpg or .pdf) would cause the “save” button to freeze, and after a seconds FF would crash. If an attempt was made to change a setting FF would again crash so quickly it was impossible to attempt any changes. Oddly enough, FF update 111.0.1 fixed the issue (or so I thought) and things returned to normal. I assumed whatever caused the problem had been fixed.

Unfortunately, every update beyond 111.0.1 reverts back to the same freezing and crashing behavior. I have attempted the following with all updates above 111.0.1 in an effort to correct the issue. So far nothing has worked. BTW, Brave and Chrome work just fine.

Cleared out all cache and cookies. Changed download folder Opening in safe (trouble shooting) mode Clean install(s) Disabled hardware acceleration. Putting the entire program on C:\ drive (apparently the newer FF installer does not allow custom installations any more). Checked and updated all drivers

Currently I have disabled automatic updates as none of them have the same freeze/crash issue. I am out of ideas and would certainly be glad to get any advice. At this point Brave is going to be my new default browser. Yes, I know 8.1 is no longer supported but I am not in a position to replace this PC at the moment.

It seems like no matter what I do, I can't get Firefox to download files from Google Drive. It loads for a moment, then it says "The page isn’t redirecting properly". I have confirmed that it's only Firefox because I can download files from Google Drive with Google Chrome. I have disabled Enhanced Tracking Protection, selecting the Standard Enhanced Tracking Protection Setting, and even refreshing Firefox. Though, I noticed that it only works on incognito mode for whatever reason.

When Firefox updated on my Windows 7 computer, I could no longer access my email on Outlook.com. I had to revert to an earlier restore point on my computer (and thus the previous version of Firefox) to use Outlook.

My laptop died but I have been able to rescue the SSD and turn it into a USB connected external drive. I can see all data from my old PC.

I have tried to copy all of my User, Local Apps Data Mozilla Profile data folders to my new Laptop but the data does not appear when I fire up Firefox on the new laptop.

The old laptop folder was c:\Users|Phil, the new laptop is C:\Users\Phill {setup of new PC added a second L to my name}

Is this an issue ?

Bought a new computer that was supposed to come with Windows 11, but came with Windows 10 and right to upgrade. Set up computer, downloaded Firefox, and it ran fine. after a couple of hours, ran the upgrade to Windows 11. Firefox stopped opening. uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox several times, but each time during installation get the following message (image below):

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f."

Have tried installing with and without defaults, and refreshing instead of reinstalling.

When I click the "restart to update" button it restarts but the button is still there and it's not working. I even restarted my laptop and still nothing. Is there anyway for me to fix it?

In trying to startup browser I get this message: The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. I tried to uninstall the browser, but it would not let me. Help!

bold textI am a longtime Firefox user and it has been excellent. Firefox is my browser. For approx. the last 2 weeks it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to load my outlook for my emails. I have reloaded Firefox and the problem remains. I downloaded Google Chrome and set it up as my browser and Outlook and my emails load instantly. What is the problem with Firefox?

Using Firefox. At present I am so confused. Often Firefox is not supported and I am told to use Google. I have used Firefox for many years. I like it. I feel safe on it. Now the computer world has me so confused. I am told by Vizio to sign up to get MAX which is thru Warner Bros.

I have A Fire Vizio adapter or plug in ??? on my TV. I do not understand what I am being asked to do. I find myself wanting to cry with confusion and feeling so overwhelmed with what used to be so simple. I really do not know what to do next.

I was trying to get MAX information with Vizio. I am asked to sign into my account. AACK!!!! I cannot find a VIZIO account. I go search on Passwords, computer takes me to a ROKU address with password. No VIZIO!! I want to cry. Too much of a good thing is BAD. Trying to download nord vpn and is says "failed" tried to download a receipt for the purchase of above and it says "failed" the browser on Win 10 is set to save files to downloads

ive scanned my system with two different antiviruses and nothing comes up, and nothing was being downloaded before ive tried to install firefox.

ive tried to install it twice, once with my setting migrated and once all clean and they both tried to download this, is this a false positive or is the install hacked?

HI! I've been trying to install Firefox on my new Acer Chromebook by following this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos. However, whenever i get to the last step, it says "no remote refs found similar to firefox". I have no idea what i'm doing at this point, any help?
