Windows 11 home computer with Mozilla Firefox version 122.0 from 1/23/2024 cannot be removed even in safe mode. When attempting to remove there are no errors, it just fails to go to next step when select uninstall. This version will result in a pop-up error of 'Couldn't load XPCOM.' A later version of Firefox worked with no issues. When the user accidently selects older version or at random times without user interaction the pop-up error appears.

Have not attempted to edit the registry.

Suggestions for steps to remove so a current version of Firefox can be installed would be appreciated

Thank you

Win 10 OS

Whenever a new version of Firefox is installed the number inside the parenthesis increments by one.

I was wondering why this number is there in the first place.

An example would be when you go to a shortcut for firefox, what you see is something like Firefox (x), x being a number. In my case it is 60. Firefox(60).lnk and if I try deleting it, I am then asked if I want to make it Firefox (61).lnk

Last February, I installed an update that wasn't compatible with my macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra. As a result, my bookmarks disappeared. For a long time, I've been getting popups on a daily basis, and sometimes twice daily, telling me to update again. Based on my last experience, I not about to install any more updates. I want these messages to stop.

Firefox 64-bit installed to a completely new installation, but did not update my existing 32-bit version.

How can this update to the 64-bit version be done and still retain all of the tabs, favorites and saved data already in the 32-bit version?

Please advise. Thank you.

Firefox appears as a different application on the Taskbar with some default icon (not the Firefox icon). This happens regardless it is started from the Start Menu or from the pinned Taskbar icon.

This behavior appeared recently, I used Firefox for years on this PC without this issue. I guess it is caused by an update (Windows or Firefox).

I was playing video on my website and using threejs to render the video over web. It was working on every browser until i opened firefox. On firefox the video is not playing or stuttering at multiple positions and i dont knew why.

I read somewhere on reddit post of how to fix it and got to a solid solution of turning media.wmf.dxva.d3d11.enabled false. media.wmf.dxva.d3d11.enabled When i turn this false, in the config of Firefox. The video stuttering is fixed.

But as am a developer and want a solid solution so that no user can face this issue on my website while video is played. So is there any solid fix other than this through code only so that i don't have to ensure for every user to make this thing false. Can i do this through code? Is there any fix to this issue.

Thankyou in advance.

When trying to use Firefox on WSL I'm getting multiple issues. There is no option to minimize or fulscreen, I can't click on Menus that pop up, like when installing Addons or when clicking the Hamburger icon in the top right and the scrolling is choppy and jumping around. I have tried multiple Versions of Firefox (Standard, Nightly, ESR) and even tried it on debain (I was originally on ubuntu). Has anyone esle encountered similar issues? Chrome works perfectly fine, and Firefox on windows as well. Thanks for any help or tips!
