I have set up Syncing on Firefox and it was simple but I can't figure out how to do it in Thunderbird. I am recovering from a PC Reset and want to ensure I do not lose anything if I have to have my Iaptop sent away to be repaired.

I spent a long time looking for an email today. I sent it earlier in the day so was looking at the latest messages with todays date. I eventually found it after srearching for the Subject. The message was threaded but the message showing was from a few days ago. That was when I noticed the little arrow. That was when all was revealed. The version of TBird I used until I Reset PC last week did not have settings like that.

Hey guys, as the title states I Can’t find any setting to set a default camera or microphone across the whole browser.

Firefox automatically chooses the wrong ones when I live stream. Former chrome user and all chromium based browsers allow you to set a default camera and microphone from a list of the available ones for the browser to automatically choose every time a site accesses them.
I just want to set it to always automatically use my obs virtual camera and always automatically choose my virtual audio cable, persistently. Is there truly no way to adjust this? It is such a basic setting that’s been around forever on the other side. Is there at least some complicated hidden way to adjust this?

I am trying to help a colleague who is trying to use Microsoft Teams join links, but it only opens in the Firefox browser (default). Microsoft Teams support says to select the always allow box.

When I open a Teams link on Firefox, I see a pop up that asks "Always allow— she does not see it. Any idea what may be preventing this? I have "Block pop-up windows" checked on my browser settings, so that can't be the issue. Her browser is up to date. We both have Apple computers.

Appreciate your help with this mystery.

About 2 weeks ago, I stopped being able to 'send'. I have found two solutions. Which is less bad? (a) or (b)? I prefer to use the SSL/TLS option for security. But my choice is between (a) overriding the default port vs (b) using STARTTLS for out-mail (with SSL/TLS still for in-mail). a) SSL/TLS for both in and out-mail In-mail port 993 default Out-mail port 587 ... by overriding default 465

b) SSL/TLS for in-mail In-mail port 993 default STARTTLS for out-mail Out-mail port 587 default

Schwab login has a "remember this site" option but FF always "forgets". How to set FF to actually "remember" a particular website. For instance Schwab.

Searching help finds solution: click "shield" in address bar but that only brings up Pocket which I have no use for at all.

Hello, I cannot find the refresh icon on my Firefox browser. It used to be visible next to the address bar, but it seems to be missing now. I would appreciate guidance on how to restore it. I've tried looking through the browser settings and customizing the toolbar, but I couldn't locate the option. Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Not long ago all my search results (Google is my default search engine) using Version 130.0.1 (64-bit) came up in English - as they should.

Then all of a sudden, all my search results came up in French. I never twerked with any of the settings to change it. When I type in the search bar all results are in French plus I get a pop-up window

When clicking to change to English I am taken to Google Search settings and am taken to page with Activity, Content, More options b Clicking under More Options the Google account settings I'm taken to the Google Account Home Settings page. Clicking on the Paramètres de langue (Language parameters) => Paramètres de recherche Langue et région (Language and region) I click on English. Works fine then .....bold text until next time I start up my PC.

Why can't I seem to long into Google account it keeps telling me my cookies are disabled I cleared browsing history closed most tabs but I would like to check data in timeline also would like to look into my metro account with phone but not able to with Google account.

How do I disable the automatic reordering of typed tags in my bookmarks? Fore example if I add tags "programming, javascript" its automatic change to "javascript, programming". I want to decide the order of the tags myself.

I recently downloaded Firefox on my Android device. It's been fine. However today, there was an issue. I have the settings set on my phone so bookmarks appear on the homepage. However, today, for some reason, the bookmark on the homepage was glitched. I'm not sure why, but I figured I just had to reset it. So I go rid of the bookmark on the homepage, and redid the bookmark. It was working again, but now, the bookmark isn't appearing on the homepage anymore. It's just a blank homepage, even though my settings are still the same. I've turned the settings on and off, reset fire fox, cleared cache, and the bookmark still isn't showing up. Pleas help me.

Just as the title goes. I've been using Mozilla Firefox on desktop since 2005. The best hands down browser ever. I started using Firefox on android back in 2019.

I still love the android version, but my only problem with it is tabs. They stay open constantly. In the desktop application you close out and all the tabs close. In the android version I swipe up and there still there next time I load in. I don't like this at all. Unless I quit out of Firefox from the submenu, the tabs will stay open indefinitely.

I was hoping Mozilla could add an option to auto close tabs in 6 hours or something like that. Or close out tabs when I swipe up in android.

I have moved about 20 friends and family to Firefox and it's always going to be Firefox from now on. You guys rock!

Sometimes when I drag a browser window, the window expands to full-screen, or otherwise resizes, like some control-freak is trying to decide that my window should be a different size. Beside not using Firefox, how can I prevent this from ever happening?

Hi Ive just noticed today that at the top of the settings Firefox page it say 'Your browser is being managed by your organisation'. It say that its 'Active' when I click on the link it states the following

Active Policy Name Policy Value Certificates ImportEnterpriseRoots true

And when i click on documentation there is a very long list of topics under the heading Documentation Policy Name

Can someone please help? firstly what is this ? What is it doing on my laptop? I have never noticed it before. Is it spyware - is it dangerous do i need to get rid of it? Ive attached a screenshot

I have tried the suggestion to change private browser mode but this doesn't not help at all. Nothing is restored to normal functionality for non private browsing. I also reinstalled Firefox with no resolution. What else can I do?

I have a closed Ubuntu installation I use to clone and quickly setup a VM. The closed system uses a proxy with restricted access to the internet, as such I would like to give it systemwide settings that will effect new and existing users.

I have attempted to use /etc/firefox/syspref.js, and apturl.js in /etc/firefox/pref/apturl.js. I have setting in EnvVars for HTTPS_PROXY and HTTP_PROXY pointing at the proxy http://proxy:8080. It seems by default firefox does not look at that.

Secondly I wanted to turn off the site warnings for intranet sites using the following options: pref("security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled,false") pref("security.certerrors.permanentOverride,false") pref("network.stricttransportsecurity.preloadlist,false") pref("security.enterprise_roots.enabled,true")

Seeing as nothing I try seems to be working, and the potentials solutions were for older versions, is there a way I can do this?

When I open or edit an event from the calendar the new window is always too small. (Actually, the same is true of Cardbook contacts) Is there a way of setting the default size when things like events are opened in a new window?
