My Foscam FI8910W, opens after sign in, with three modes to choose from. Only the ActiveX mode, in IE, works to allow recordings to be made. Sometime back, just after I bought this new laptop, a free AT&T program with McAfee, is available for AT&T users. But this app, can only be loaded into Internet Explorer, and something wrong with IE, prevented it from happening. I contacted AT&T Tech support, allowed the tech onto my machine, and even he could not solve it. He then opened Firefox I already had, and installed some program, that made Firefox actually act like IE, so that McAfee software, could be downloaded and installed. It worked, using Firefox to replace IE, to download and install, but the print spooler on my pc, went bad, and would not work to use my printer. Dell tech also took control of the pc, found a complete Windows 7 reinstall was needed, and he did so. Now, the print spooler works, but the fresh install, did away with the software the AT&T Tech added to Firefox.

IE is a pain, but we need it, for some sites, like for the Activex mode, with my camera. I tried pening it in Firefox, in the ActiveX mode, and it opens, but with no picture. When I click on Device Management, to go to settings, I can't. What I get, is a small pop up balloon on lower right, that says 'javascript:administrator0'. Thinking maybe Javascript was disabled, I checked in options, and it is not, it's checked, thus enabled. I am on my pc, as administrator, so now I am stuck. Is there someone who can explain how to make it work, so I can use my camera in ActiveX mode, so I can actually record tings, if need be, when I leave? Thanks in advance. Oh, My Win 7, has the 64 bit OS, not the 32 if that helps.

Amazon Smart Search not only took over Firefox, but Google Chrome and IE. I tried uninstalling anything from Amazon other than the Kindle reader which was installed many weeks ago. This did not happen immediately after I installed Firefox. I was looking at some PC cleaners, and driver updaters, but do read carefully and have no idea how Smart Search took over. I am really pissed at Amazon and will let them know. In the meantime, I have to get it off my other two search engines. I did the somewhat "dangerous" method to get it off Firefox. This may not be the forum for how do I get it off my computer, but if anyone has any ideas of how not to get into this situation again, I would appreciate feedback.

Hello,

I used to move firefox cache folder to my secondary (350 MB) ssd drive. However since a few firefox versions back the way I did it (using about:config and finding cache parent directory ) doesn't work anymore. And by doesn't work I mean there is no setting like that. The question is: is it possible to move firefox cache folder? If so - how can I do it?

Thanks in advance, Tomasz.

Firefox adds account names when you log into different accounts. If you make a mistake then the mistakes will show up as well each and every time. I would like to edit the file to stop this. In the past I have deleted Firefox and re-installed it to fix this problem. I'm sure there's a better way than that.

I just got a new AIO with windows 8; not may favorite thing but I'm learning. I use Firefox as my browser exclusively but Window 8 help, of course, won't explain how to pin sites through other browsers. I had to set up my desktop on my start screen so I can open Firefox from there and then I can start browsing with Firefox - but there has to be an easier way....I've tried to search through the Firefox support but I'm an accountant, not a techie and this is getting very frustrating. lol I hope someone can explain to me how to do this. And in very small words please - remember I'm bean-counter. :) Thanks y'all.

It has been a long time since I have used Firefox (got a Macbook, and for some reason just used Safari for a long time), so please forgive me if I am just missing something in the Firefox settings.

Anywho, I have Firefox set up to not remember my history because I like the privacy it offers. I think it is odd that I have it set up to delete my history, yet when you go to "History", it keeps a list of all my closed tabs... Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of having the browser not save my history?

Is there a way to prevent Firefox from keeping this list of my recently closed tabs?

So every once in a while, I have a bunch of tabs open, FF freezes up and it restarts or Windoze forces a restart. Fine except when an an FF update is staged, or like this time, I lose my 30-40 tabs because I apparently need to know that Pocket has come to Firefox. Restore previous sessions grayed out, I seem to be toast. Getting sick of it now, losing most are fine but I really wanted some of them sitting there without having to be bookmarked, Any way of getting my tabs back when this happens almost once a week now?
