When I try to save an image to my Mac - I have the option of saving it to my Desktop, my Docs folder or a few others, but not to a specific folder for different things I'm saving. I can't scroll through my Documents folders for example and save it to one of them.

So i end up saving things to my Desktop and that soon gets out of hand.

How can I save to a specific folder, and a different one each time if I choose. I can do this in Safari, but prefer Firefox.

Thanks.

This is probably not the right place to note this, but so far it is the only place I've found.

Many times, a more-or-less self-regulating forum like this one eventually is taken over by a bunch of spoiled, self-indulgent megalomaniacs. From what I can see, this form is heading that way.

I suggest some sort of appeal process be created and published for cases where 'mere users' get banned by one of the ego trippers.

For example, a few days ago, I got banned because a guy who calls himself "THE-ED" (or something similar, I don't feel like tracking down the exact name). My fault was THE-ED calling me a jerk, ass-hole, and related things. I repeat: he called me those things.

bye

Does anyone know how to lock the Find Bar so that it doesn't disappear each time I press CTRL-F?

Also any ideas on how I can get it to stop auto-wrapping to the top of the page, or at the very least, make a "ding" after it reaches the bottom of the page?

Thanks

I went into Firefox in safe mode by using cap locks to fix Java Plug in.

Next it says to try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. However, it doesn't say how to do that. So, I'm stuck.

I'm not well-versed in computer tech. A brief explanation would be helpful. Thanks.

You can add keywords, but I don't know how to use them. Typing the keyword into the browser followed by a query just uses the default search engine. I can't change the currently selected search engine in the search bar using the term in any obvious way I've figured out, like Keyword:

I've gotten so used to the "Press Tab to Search" functionality of Chrome that it always seems like an additional step in Firefox to go to the actual website and begin searching from that page's search box.

For example, whether it's YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, or any other site with its own search function, all I have to do is start typing "yout," Chrome will automatically fill it out to youtube.com with an option to press Tab to automatically start searching youtube from the address bar. (See attached screenshots).

Is there any way to replicate this functionality in Firefox?

Thanks.

Is there a way to do this? An add-on that would do it (I couldn't find any)?

For a paper I need to use the Polish alphabet a decent amount, but it's not enough for me to consider downloading a Polish language pack. To the rescue come the ALT codes. Outside of Firefox (say, in the outlook email client I use for work or in Microsoft Word) ALT + 0322 gives a ł, inside Firefox (address bar) or in Google Docs in Firefox, Google Keep, Facebook or any other website) the ALT code gives a B, so just a regular capital b.

Maybe this is not an issue that pertains only to firefox, but I was wondering if there was a workaround for this. I can always copy/paste, but it'd be neat if I could use the ALT codes, as it is just a lot simpler.

I didn't go through the time to check my specs specifically, but it's Windows 10 and on a laptop. I can't imagine it'd have an effect on something like this, though.

Thanks in advance!

Some websites take up a good deal of room when I go to their pages. I don't mind an icon, or even one word, but someties there's little room left to see the URL when I want to check it or type another. How do I get rid of those pesky long IDs?

Also, I've managed to get rid of several of the icons, but I know there's a way to combine them all with only the star showing unless I mouseover or actually ask to see them. The last FF update took that away and I can't find mention of it anywhere and can't remember where I found it. Can someone direct me there?

Hello: I recently discovered about:about, about:config, and i love these hidden bits of info. But i will forget about them... (as im just not a technical so i dont remember stuff like that) --- please note: I dont want to add to bookmark as i will even forget there as i have 100s.... and these are classed as firefox things for me... so not in my bookmarks (my bookmarks are my things v technical ffox things) --- similar to PageInfo option that is provided under Tools menu

So i would like to add to my Menubar Tools/About:About Toolbs/About:Config and Tools/Customerise Toolbars (rather than right clicking in grey space between icons on the toolbar)

is it possible? if so, how do i?

I would like to change the background colour of the 'about' pages to #EFEFEF or a named colour if such code cannot be used and, if possible, the font colour as well. The white background is my main focus.

I am hopeful that the colour(s) can be changed using the userChrome.css file.

I have been unable to find an answer to the specific question or any source providing a comprehensive list of element and attribute names.

I am using Firefox 20.0.1 on a Linux operating system.
