Updated web browsing. Generally, tabs don't have a clearly defined visible outline. Bookmarks, too much space between rows, so e.g. less bookmarks are visible - have to scroll down to find. Make firefox easier to use, not harder. Need to have defined contrast on the page for each process or thing that you're doing e.g. buttons, lines, whatrever should have a clear contrast so you can see quickly. Time should be spent doing what it is you're doing, not spent trying to see firefox properly etc.

I've looked through every question on the Support site regarding saving pinned tabs, but can't find a specific answer. I have a pinned tab, and in my Settings under Startup, I have the "Open previous windows and tabs" box checked. However, every time I re-open Firefox after previously closing it, the pinned tab is gone. Is this because I close Firefox using the "X" in the upper-right-hand corner or simply close all the open tabs?

Hello, I've had this problem before I believe and I had to change something in about:config to rectify this issue but cannot find it nor know exactly how to search for it.

I have two Microsoft Online accounts, Account A and Account B.

When I go to a website I am prompted to pick an account and I can see Account A and Account B. I then enter my credentials for Account A and I'm in, great.

I then go to another site where I need to use Account B, but I don't have the chance to pick Account A or Account B because I'm presented an error because the new tab is trying to use Account A.

How do I stop this?

I have a set of tabs (web pages) that I use when I open Firefox. Over the past 4 - 6 weeks the tabs all go away after I shut down Firefox. When I reopen it has a single tab. It is frustrating since I am working on a project and have to reopen 8 tabs.

It worked for many years and now it has stopped.

Help, please!

If you use userChrome.css to customise the tab toolbar, you might see the height of the tabs increase with Firefox 96.0.2. For me the fix was to add an entry to userChrome.css:

   #tabbrowser-tabs:not([secondarytext-unsupported]) .tab-label-container {
     height: initial !important;
   }

This counteracts a change in 96.0.2 which sets the height of that element to 2em.

Why did my inactive tab automatically move and open a new Firebox browser window simultaneously when I clicked my inactive tab from my active tab in my original Firebox browse window? In fact, I prefer to see only 1 instead of 2 Firebox browser window. There is no reason for me to move my inactive tab from my new Firebox browser window to my original Firebox browser window manually.

Hi, I work in GNU/Linux + Gnome with several tabs (around 100). They have different context (research, personal, related to a course, and work; are some examples). I use several windows with several tabs each. I would like to have one group per window, to be able to close a window and not losing the tabs it had, (to close all the windows and be able to reopen them).

I cannot find a way to organize my tabs in such a way that windows don't isolate their tabs. There are plenty of add-ons to group tabs. But all of them end up hiding/unhiding the tabs of only the current window.

It looks that the underlying architecture is this: OS has Firefox. Firefox has Windows. Windows have tabs. Tabs are manageable only in the window they belong to.

Therefore, every window is only aware of its own group of tabs.

What I am looking for is a different approach, or at least the illusion of it: OS has Firefox Firefox has Tabs. Tabs are manageable, from any instance of a window.

Therefore, the window is only a viewer that is aware of all the tabs.

The plug-ins: Panorama Tab Group, Simple Tab Groups, and similar work a bit, but if I open a new window, and do some browsing, the old window does not know anything in the new window.

Is there a setting/plugin that can solve this problem? maybe I am missing some setting or I just don't know how to use the plugins... Thanks for your time. Best

Situation: I have a private and a non-private window (with multiple tabs) and want to close the non-private window (and thereby store the session of it, as it is my last non-private window)

I configured Firefox to store the session on close but this doesn't work if a private window is opened somewhere. Instead of saving the session of the last non-private window and closing, I get asked whether I want to close this many tabs, as it would ask me If another non-private Window were opened.

Can I configure my Firefox (Im on Desktop Windows/Linux) to store this session and "ignore" the fact that a private windows is still opened (as I'm not able to store the private window's session anyways)?

Thanks :)

I often use the trick of right clicking on a link and then open in new tab to keep the original web page open but now nothing happens when I do it. I wonder if there has been a Firefox update today which has caused this.

It started this morning and I'd be most grateful for some assistance with this as it's particularly useful with Facebook.
