When I right-click an image, the context menu opens with an option to set the image as a desktop background. For almost all web images, this action makes no sense whatsoever, and for the others, I personally never want to use it.

How can I drop this action from the image context menu?

I have searched settings for context, background, and image, and I have searched about:config for desktop, background, context, etc.

Superuser has an answer making use of about:config `legacyUserProfileCustomizations`, which I would prefer to evade given its 'legacy' nature.

I expected an about:config flag but have not found one.

Firefox is opening on startup even though it is disabled in the settings.

I try to change the settings in Firefox and it prompts me to open my windows startup settings page.

The windows startup settings page does not have a Firefox on the list.

Both methods of disabling startup is inaccessible.

It looks like startup is disabled according to Firefox's settings, but it is not.

This is super annoying and a stupid problem.

After a recent update, firefox has sometimes started shifting my currently-active tab to the end of the list when I click on it. It's messing up my organization, especially when I click on something in a tab group, because when it gets moved to the end, it removes it from the tab group. Any idea how to disable this? I can't find a setting for it.

I have been using Firefox for the last 5 years, I have been content with their services and for that reason I keep using it. Lately I had computer issues so I had to reset my computer and start over this includes Firefox as well. Anyhow because of my lifestyle i do different things like school work, farming, and other stuff. Windows has a feature called "Desktops" this feature is very handy to me as it lets me organize my tabs and windows base on the topic like school or work, (To illustrate this I included a picture of how I have it organize.) well, sometimes my computer shuts down by accident or intentional. Regardless if it was shut down by accident or not, I would boot my computer up and lunch Firefox, and Firefox would open my tabs and windows in the Desktop that It was previously at. For example, I would have all of my school related tabs and windows in the School Desktop, and all of my Work related stuff in the work Desktop, after booting Firefox would automatically place my tabs windows in those compartments, well now Firefox doesn't do that anymore and it is frustrating because every time I boot my computer up after an update or a restart, when Firefox is lunch Firefox will place all of my tabs and windows in the first Desktop, and this is frustrating because every time that happens I have spend time on sorting my tabs out to the right compartment, and to be honest I'm getting sick and tired of doing it because i lose time. So to anyone who reads this, can you please help me figure out what is wrong, because if it is a setting then that's is understandable but if it is Firefox then it would break my heart because as an user and a fan It would break my heart to stop using Firefox as my primary app.

Hello: Thanks for creating Firefox. This is my first question after more than a decade using it. I couldn't find proper information about this. This week Firefox started to show a tiny shopping cart icon over the task bar icon of Firefox (image attached). I don´t know what it's and I can't find the functionality that make that appear. So, How do I disable it? I use Firefox everywhere, and I don't like it, specially in my job's laptop as my boss can occasionally see it and it's obviously not work-related in my case. I use chatgpt to get answers and it points to a "Shopping Assistant" feature, but I don't find it. Is it related? The term is so common that I couldn't narrow down to my specific question (what is it and how to disable it)

I use windows 11 and 138.0.4 (64-bit)

Thanks in advance for help

Updated recently from (I believe) 138.04 to 139.0.1, and immediately noticed that the size of font (and icons) had changed in the folders I have in the bookmark toolbar, that is they are much smaller and thus also less space between. Why this, and is it possible to change the size, without changing something else?

It's possible that many don't have folders in the toolbar and thus don't notice, but I have 2-3 apart from bookmarks.

I remember a change many versions ago that increased the space between entries in the bookmark menu, and also in the bookmark toolbar folders. That was too much and I found a setting [in config] that could be changed to decrease the space back then. (I haven't looked for that solution now, probably have some doc somewhere, and won't bother searching since this is different. Same with this case; I did some quick initial search but found next to nothing and older. BTW, this is one of the downsides of changes like these and similar; the day you have too move to another OS version, i.e. reinstall everything you also have to keep documentation of all these little changes, apart from all the other things you'll have to export or save.)

I'm only seeing this on a (Windows 11) laptop that connects via a proxy server. The proxy settings are greyed-out (unmodifiable), set to use system proxy settings.

When there are changes to the network, Firefox closes without me doing anything. When I re-open it, there's no indication of a problem. Is there anywhere to view events that might have triggered the browser closing?

Aside from troubleshooting mode, which I'll try, is there anything else I should do/check?

I'm trying to configure Firefox using AutoConfig as described in this support article, Customize Firefox using AutoConfig.

However, I can't get Firefox to read the firefox.cfg file.

Details:

Here's what I've set up:

1. autoconfig.js is in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\" and contains (LF line endings):
  pref("general.config.filename", "firefox.cfg");
  pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);

2. firefox.cfg is in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\" and begins with "//".

Questions:

  • Does AutoConfig still work in the official Mozilla Firefox release (not ESR)?
  • Is there a launch option or environment variable required to enable it?
  • Is there any way to troubleshoot if firefox.cfg is not being read?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I updated (latest Firefox for desktop, but feels like I downgraded) and now my home shortcuts seem to have 4 acres of land (padding), each! Mozilla must think my shortcuts are thinking of starting their own space program or something.

Mozilla needs to stop doing these little things, and just leave them as options. Annoying to have to look through the terrible list to find what they changed. It's why I disabled updates in the first place. Too many changes by someone that doesn't physically interact with people in the real world.

Mozilla makes me mad how poor their design changes are. - Bad Mozilla.
