Firefox continues to periodically and randomly crash resulting in the "GAH" message and requiring either restoring session or tab. Have done much of the troubleshooting but tho' problem seemed to be resolved for a couple of weeks, it is now back. This is really starting to get annoying with need to restore pinned tabs, most visited, etc. Help?!

Firefox RAM usage on M1 Mac has dramatically increased. Unfortunately, b/c the memory usage is in firefox parent process, I can't simply terminate a process corresponding to a "tab", meaning I have no choice but to restart Firefox (closing & reopening all tabs) every hour or so of usage.

This is a new issue from a long-time firefox user (on multiple operating systems). It happened after I upgraded the Mac to "Monterey", which may or may not be coincidence.

Hello,

I use Firefox 73.0 (64-bit) on 5.3.18-1-MANJARO GNU/Linux and constantly faced with the fact that Firefox takes up all available memory until the computer freezes (12Gb RAM without swap). If I restart Firefox, initially memory usage is small, but after some websurfing it constantly grows, as if it were not clearing.

According to the about:memory report, most of the memory is occupied by the "chrome://browser/content/browser.xhtml". What is it and why does it take up so much memory?

Example:

7 tabs opened: https://i.imgur.com/W8zWXQZ.png

Memory usage report: https://pastebin.com/raw/MsTk2pAg

OS memory usage: https://pastebin.com/raw/3D5EUm61

OS memory usage after closing Firefox: https://pastebin.com/raw/q65AvTpa

I will be very grateful for your help!

I'm rather desperate for help. I've been a Firefox user for years, and can't figure this out.

My installation of Firefox 76.0.1 on Windows 10 crashes daily. It crashes in safe mode, my Windows is up to date, my video drivers are up to date. Before it crashes, I usually have one or more pages crash ("Gah! Your tab crashed"). After it crashes, it may or may not invoke the Mozilla crash reporter. Below are a few of the recent crash reports. Can anyone give me some guidance that might help stop the crashes?

Thanks!

So, I started following instructions via this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-crashes-closing-or-quitting

I first made sure Firefox and all my drivers were up to date, which they were. Moving on, using Troubleshooting Mode, I have yet to encounter any issues. The screenshot below shows the crash reports between yesterday and today. For some reason it won't let me submit the crash report from yesterday, as well as the first one that happened today. I'm also not sure why there are 4 crash reports generated for 10:05PM on 9/30, because Firefox only crashed once to my knowledge.

Here's the submitted crash report ID's, though: bp-35800b96-f14a-488f-b94d-94fa10211001 bp-ad3476ee-2ceb-4de1-a824-a49a90211001 bp-94812bc3-6e24-4454-a479-a6fc70211001 bp-a238a0fc-37f9-4b5c-b883-eb2cb0211001

And the "Failed" Unsubmitted crash reports: b8ab5181-c940-4177-ad4b-00ef7b99f84a be5771aa-ccc2-423b-b94e-5acbd65ec765

Typically I have these extensions installed, and I've never had an issue thus far: 1. uBlock Origin (also in incognito) 2. Adguard Adblocker (also in incognito) 3. Honey 4. Translate Web Pages (though it's left disabled, unless needed)

Why do I use two adblockers? Because one or the other isn't typically sufficient, and I find those two to work together the best.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I used to not have issues with Firefox but in recent weeks Firefox has crashed so much that it's becoming increasingly unusable for me - I've had 63 crashes in the last 24 hours, including 6 in the process of writing this post. The crashes do not seem to be caused by any specific website or action, and they still occur in safe mode. It is becoming increasingly rare for Firefox to last more than a few minutes without crashing. Any information that would alleviate me of this problem would be greatly appreciated. In the past 5 minutes, MFF 73.0 x64 crashed 3 times. I've sent an error report, I always do, so quite a few should be at Moz. System: I5 6600K 16gb RAM GTX 1060 6GB 16tb disk space, of which 60% to 70% in use.

Crashes are irregular in time, but always with an instant CDT.

Tabs also frequently crash out on me, for no apparent reason. This too happens at irregular intervals. See picture below.

Please advice? Thank you. Xog.

Firefox continues to crash after every session ending when I close it out. I have an old computer with not a bunch of memory, but would that affect the closing of a session, and if so, why? I have the option selected to clear history when Firefox closes, as I don't want to have to try and remember to do this manually everytime I close a session. What is checked are all of the "History" options; the "Data" options are left alone.

Anyway, crash reports:

bp-6a558009-aeed-4b81-8aee-8bf560211210 bp-e946da15-471d-4f6c-8bf9-247540211210 bp-39505be6-9c4e-4e4c-a4e0-f8c930211210 bp-085e9350-9fe1-4386-a10e-1d06b0211210 bp-c4307805-87d8-4869-9c69-46d060211210 bp-fa9c9f16-08ab-442f-be8a-a92230211210 bp-f9e38252-824d-4900-bcf8-b5e1d0211210 bp-6fb377b3-f867-4924-ad07-1f2c30211210 bp-1ed78b16-8c33-4011-9749-2c4700211210

Not a huge issue for me, of course, but if I can stop the crashing, that would definitely be an aesthetic improvement.
