I'm a native Dutch speaker, and also read and write a lot in English. Hence I have two dictionaries installed for spell checking: Dutch and English.

I often find myself using one language on one page, and the other on the next, thus having to switch the spell checker dictionary between Dutch and English all the time.

What would be VERY convenient, is either

1. The possibility to use two (or any number) dictionaries at the same time.

Or better yet:

2. The possibility to 'auto detect' the current language, and use that dictionary.

This auto detect thing could simply consist of seeing what dictionary results in the least number of detected spelling errors, and use that.

Thanks for your consideration, this sounds like a rather simple feature to me, yet I've been missing it for many years, and I have in fact found quite some similar requests from other people throughout the internet as well! It would make a great addition to Firefox!

My home page is my companies home page which requires authentication. Before the latest update I had no problems, but now it won't let me log in. I enter the credentials and hit OK and the box just keeps coming back up. I can log in via Safari with no problem so it appears that it's something in the security settings but I can't figure out what. I've tried a number of fixes that I've seen for similar issues, but none seam to work.

As an aside... it is way too difficult to ask a question through Mozilla Support!

I had been using numerous sites where I my username and password was appropriately retained using Firefox 36.0.4. With the update to 37.0.4, all this failed. My stored usernames and passwords failed. Deleting these credentials would not work - I would enter them, the dialogue about whether to store these would flash in the upper left of the browser window, and I would be asked for my credentials again. Happened on multiple sites on different servers. Deleting profile and reinstalling V37.0.4 did not fix. The only solution was to scrub out V37.0.4 and reinstall the prior V36.0.4. How to communicate this to the Firefox developers.

Everything works when I start/restart firefox, then I can no longer scroll using the trackpad or my magic mouse after some time. The scrolling works in other applications, however.

Fixes I've tried that didn't work: disabled autoscrolling, smooth scrolling, and hardware acceleration. Turn on screen saver for a while and then log back in (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5557954?start=15&tstart=0), always show scroll bars in mac system preferences. Fixes that work temporarily: Resetting firefox, quitting and restartting firefox

Add-ons and Extensions I use: Adblock Plus, Firebug, LibX, Google Scholar Button, and Google Scholar Search Using: Firefox v. 38.0.1, Mac OS v. 10.10.2 Yosimite

Sometimes, but not always, I will download something from the Internet. It might be an .exe or a .dmg or a media file. Instead of coming through in a usable format, though, it will arrive as a binary file.

Today, there was a warning about a Skype "bug" that caused crashes. The recommendation was to immediately download a new version of Skype. This .dmg came through in binary - I had to use Safari in order to download the new version of Skype.

I'm unable to find a setting to cure the problem, so I'm hoping you can help me out. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

We are creating a new national portal in Norway, which is for victims of violence. This portal provides helpful information for the victims.

When we started to create this portal an important issue came up. How can we provide the best anonymity possible for these victims?

A suggestion is that we open links in a incognito mode, but we cant find a way to force open incognito mode. Is there a way to do this? We are open for suggestions. The main issu is to have a clean history.

Fan runs high & hot watching youtube videos. Have new macbook pro retina 15" mid 2015. 2.5 GHz intel core i7. Started happening after second to last Firefox update. Updated to most current thinking it would be fixed. It doesn't happen if I use Safari. Apple support senior lead tried to resolve issues. Sorry, I'm not very technical. Tried shift, control,option start. Tried option, command,R,P start. Tried logging on as a new user. Tried so many options, I can't remember them all. Uninstalled, reinstalled,and uninstalled again. ran disk repair(?). Followed Firefox troubleshoot all the way to the end. Started in Safe Mode...everything. She told me to contact Mozilla to see if you had any answers to my issues. I also had issues last week with Firefox crashing 3-4 times in a row while watching youtube. I sent reports to Firefox. I hope someone can help me. I prefer Firefox to Safari! Thank you!

After years of using Firefox, it now crashes on my iMac (OS 10.10.5) - even in safe mode. I've tried starting my desktop in safe mode too and nothing works. I've downloaded a new copy of Firefox several times and each time I get the message "Firefox crashes when opening. " When I try opening Firefox in safe mode, it starts for a few seconds but then I get that darned spinning wheel again, and again, etc. So I have to "force quit" Firefox and try again. Today is the first time I've had such difficulties. I haven't installed any new software or made any other changes that would affect Firefox. Could it be that my Xmarks that stores my Firefox ookmarks is a problem? Or is there some website among my 'favorites' that could be crashing Firefox? Any help will be appreciated.

if ( document.styleSheets[i].rules !== undefined ) {

                   cssRule = document.styleSheets[i].rules[ii];
                   }
               else if ( document.styleSheets[i].cssRules !== undefined ){
                   cssRule = document.styleSheets[i].cssRules[ii];
                   }

the above code causes a security exception when the tab is already open and another page from the same domain has already been accessed. Note that the original access does not cause a security exception. The security exception is on the "else if" rather than the "if" statement. If I kill the browser and reopen the same page the security exception does not occur. I have tried everything I can think of the prevent any CORs based exception from happening.

To recreate this behavior use: https://www.fanaticmasks.com/test/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=7 The page should not throw the security exception

Alter the url to: https://www.fanaticmasks.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=7 And it does throw the exception.

To my understanding of COR this is the EXACT SAME DOMAIN.

But for some reason, firefox gets upset about css rules access for no apparent reason. I have also used the built in functions to a. clear cache b. clear history (ALL history)

but unless I restart firefox the security exception still fires. This appears to be a browser issue since I used php to prevent CORs exceptions at the server.

My research via google only turns up old solutions that I can demonstrate don't solve the problem. I can trap the exception, but I need the rule in order for my animation to work.

If necessary I can make a small example show the behavior.

I have had problems with a html BASE tag in the zen cart package but I can't see how that would affect this problem, since the BASE tag is in both pages.

Whenever I use the Hiragana input method for Japanese (Mac) the keyboard freezes up every other time I try to type. After typing one sentence or phrase in Japanese, I need to manually switch to another language, then switch back to Japanese to unfreeze the keyboard for use in Firefox. I seems to get stuck when I am offered to choose between homophonous logographs i.e. 用紙 and 要旨, and although the arrow keys work to toggle between different choices, 'enter' nor 'space bar' will register, thus preventing me from naturally exiting the drop down scroll and moving on. This problem only occurs inside Firefox, and only with Japanese Hiragana (Chinese Pinyin works fine ironically). In Safari and other browsers the input method also works fine. Thank you for answering my question.
