I am running a local apache server for website development. I have always accessed these local sites with http://

Suddenly today firefox is redirecting to https:// and I receive the "Secure Connection Failed" error.

I have completely removed the firefox profile by deleting the ~/.mozilla and ~/.cache/mozilla directories, but the problem persists.

I have set browser.urlbar.autoFill to false, but the problem persists.

I am not running any extensions or add ons.

No changes to the apache configuration have been made.

No system updates have been installed since it was working yesterday.

Even with apache stopped, the local sites still immediately redirect to https://

The sites are directed to localhost via the /etc/hosts file, for example: 127.0.0.1 examplelocalsite.dev

I have restarted the computer and the problem persists.

The problem is not occurring in Chrome.

The problem is not occurring with external http:// websites.

I am not running any type of security software other than a basic firewall configuration with ufw

The problem persists with ufw disabled.

I have purged the firefox installation with apt purge firefox and reinstalled fresh but the problem persists.

Opening next to the previous-in-sequence tab absolutely does not work (I'm a stack type) so I end up dragging URLs to the far right of the tab bar -- which is a pain. This wasn't a problem with older Firefox versions e.g. 54, but it's broken now (61) and none of the available extensions address tab location.

Hi All,

I am working UI Automation. We are using javascript injection for automation. One of the features we need is to ability set / unset cookies.

I am able to set cookie using javascript, but I can't delete / unset a cookie. I am using below script to unset cookie.

document.cookie = 'cookie_name=; path=/; domain=.mycompany.com; expires=Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT';

If I try to alert document.cookie, it shows empty string. However, I can still see the cookie in browser after the javascript execution is complete.

Can someone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

P.S. I am on FF v17.0.3 esr on RHEL 5.

Thanks, Shiv

None of the question related, solved my problem, first, I don't use windows; second, questions related are from years ago, nad seems outadted, because much of that questions suggest to change the values of network.protocol-handler.external.magnet, but in Iceweasel 29 I can't find anything similar., should I create it? what kind of value is, boolean, string...? I don't have it some clear, or at least in your support is not clear at all.

And this link which is recommended in some relates questions : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol is broken, at least to me is broken.

so... how may open magnet links in this disspaointing browser?. I don't want to use Chrome/Chromium because they're worse.

I'm using Linux.

I looked at all the previous solutions, some of which were the same., but they didn't answer my question.

Firefox 17.01 Ubuntu 12.04

If I go to Edit --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Encryption

it looks like 'View Certificates' is the likeliest place to look for the Security Exceptions resulting from me clicking 'Confirm Security Exception'.

I have looked at the five tabs on the next dialog box 'Certificate Manager', and the most likely looks like the 'Servers' tab.

On this tab, I can see that there is a button to 'Add Exception...', but nowhere to 'Show Exceptions', and the 'Add Exception...' button only provides means to add a new exception.

I made my services account yesterday on Windows, to prepare to move to Linux (first time). I synced all my data (I waited until sync is done), I closed FF and said goodbye to windows. After I installed Linux I wanted to restore my data from services on Firefox (all bookmarks, passwords, plugins, history), but FF was unable to download anything. It said that sync is finished but none of the bookmarks or passwords were downloaded. Is there any history of syncs where I could recover my old profile?

I would like to set proxy settings to all the firefox process for non-root users, Earlier i used to do this by adding below lines in /usr/lib64/firefox/defaults/preferences/channel-perf.js

pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

and creating mozilla.cfg file in /usr/lib64/firefox directory as followd

lockPref("network.proxy.type", 1); lockPref("network.proxy.http", "127.0.0.1") lockPref("network.proxy.http_port", 3128) lockPref("network.proxy.share_proxy_settings", true)

How do i achieve the same in Firefox-26

I tried the following

In the /usr/lib64/firefox/browser/defaults/preferences directory, i created file channel-pref.js as follows pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0) pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

create mozilla.cfg file in /usr/lib64/firefox directory , then using moz-byteshift.pl i modified the mozilla.cfg moz-byteshift.pl -s 13 <mozilla.cfg.txt >mozilla.cfg

but it still doesn't work ,

Any information on how to make this work

Does the Network Monitoring component of the Firefox Developer Tools have a way to preserve its log upon navigation (which would otherwise be cleared), similar to the Chrome or Safari Developer Tools "Preserve log upon navigation" button?

I've tried checking the "Enable persistent logs" option for the Web Console in settings, but it does not appear to affect the Network Monitoring tab. I also didn't see any bugs filed for it, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something obvious.

Thanks, Kevin
