Crashes repeat for long time using different versions of FF, on two similar computers type Dell D830 with slightly different hardware, both having windows 7 OS, though again different versions & installed by different persons.

There's a clear dependance on quantity of windows & tabs in FF regarding how soon/frequently crashes occur - the more load, the more likely is a crash.

Recently, still in FF ver31, crashes became more frequent (from about one to several hours in between to just several minutes) as a few more windows were added, then, after updating to ver32 expecting some improvement things got even worse - FF couldn't even fully start in normal mode (though crashes occurred at the very end of loading, when almost all windows were ready), so after some attempts I succeeded in starting FF in safe mode (holding "shift" is frequently missed so several attempts are needed) in which it still lasts for some time - again, depending on actual browsing activity - the more actions (tabs switching/re-loading), the more soon crash follows.

Notice about resources (amount of RAM used) I also have some old machines based on Intel 815 chipset running Windows 2000 which have inherent RAM limit of just 512MB (versus 3-4GB in Dells) - though these sometimes experience terrible lags with my browsing style (all RAM exhausted, page file used instead), but FF (of respectively older version) never crashes/-ed there on its own, so then I suspect that crashing on much never computers is related either to Windows 7 or to FF itself (critical to increasing ABSOLUTE amount of windows/tabs - btw, to make this aspect easier, I have "load tabs on demand" feature set in all cases).

Recent crash ID, together with a few previous ones: (see time intervals, usually 2-4 minutes is for normal mode, up to 10 minutes for safe mode)

I'm attempting to use the latest firefox (v32) on Debian/testing/64bit using the 64bit version of FF.. This machine is a laptop and is only used with wifi. The wifi that is generally used is either a Starbucks or McDonalds which requires a click on a webpage before the connection is enabled.. When I start FF to be able to click this checkbox, it does not start. a look at the ps -xua shows firefox as a defunct/zombie process.. The way I've been working around this, is to use Google Chrome to pull up the webpage, click the box, then almost immediately the FF instance I tried to start comes up.. If I clicked the FF icon more than once I get more than one FF window.. It appears FF needs an open pipe to the internet before it will start. I MUCH prefer FF over Chrome, but if I'm going to have to use Chrome to "kick-start" FF, I might as well remove FF and just use Chrome.. Any ideas??

Today just after the latest auto update to 32.0.1, firefox keeps crashing on certain websites. For example signing into gmail.com it crashes every single time.

I tried a complete reinstall with a complete wipe of everything firefox related in program files, various appdata folders and ran a registry cleaner in the middle as well. I disabled all plugins and extensions and tried safe mode also. No luck.

Firefox does not give any crash report. I checked about:crashes and the actual crash report folder in the appdata/roaming/mozilla/firefox/crash reports. Yes, crash reporter is enabled. I only get the windows crash report, which is as follows:

I'm running a 64-bit Windows 8.1. Firefox used to work flawlessly, but immediately following the update it does not anymore. I'm all out of ideas. Thank you for any help.

Hi, I use Firefox portable and use it for work. I do moderation of videos. I open a page with 5-20 videos that load with Flash Player and view them. Today there was a Firefox update to 32.0.1 version. After update when I open a page I only get 1 video loaded and the others are blank. When I right-click on area where a video should be I get "Movie not loaded..." greyed (can not click) and "About Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.152..." I checked and I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player plugin. It was updated few days ago and worked fine until Firefox update. I also checked to open a page with SRWare Iron (also portable browser) and everything works.

In the blink of an eye, both Thunderbird and Firefox have BOTH STOPPED connecting to the Net. let me share with you what I have done... and what has been unsuccessful this far.

System & Software Pertinents.. Windows 7 x64 System running a i7 Intel CPU, with 8 GB of RAM and a 500 GB Drive. Thunderbird is Version 24.2 Firefox is Version 27.

Here are the specific things that I have done, POST problem, to try and solve..

A) Check firewall settings... BOTH programs are cleared for Bit Passage

B) Check Anti-Virus.... Anti-Virus Disabled.. UNINSTALLED and Registry Cleaned.. still has the problem persisting..

C) Deleted and Reinstalled Thunderbird & Firefox Working Directories (without deleting User Profiles)... Problem still persisting..

D) Created NEW Profile with Profile Mgr in Firefox.. no go...

E) RAN WHOLE System VIRAL/MALWARE Check... .. No infections..

F) FRESH REINSTALLS of Thunderbird and Firefox... NO go...

G) Checked Processes using ENUM and DNS Checks... both check out fine!

H) OTHER browsers connect... OPERA.. Chrome and IE even... Also, Sea Monkey... but not Firefox.

In TRYING to create an e.mail account, Thunderbird's Account Creation interface sits there attempting to connect... no connection achieved...

Any help that you can offer is appreciated!!

Thank you all, in advance!

Hi,

I have tried to use the plugin update, unfortunately only two plugins show and one of those give the wrong info: - it says that adobe acrobat is not up to date and i don't actually have Acrobat installed) - Only one other plugin appears (Silverlight) despite the fact that I know I have several other installed.

Could you let me know if there is a solution to this as I would like to keep the plugin up to date but will need a complete list of them to manually update them.

Any solutions/explanations/suggestions welcome.

Here is an image to help explain because i'm told i'm bad at it.

http://i61.tinypic.com/24ytimu.jpg

As you can see, files with the .midi extension open in the plugin in firefox fine, but .mid files don't. I've followed several advices over the past several hours, including deleting the .mid entry from the mimetypes file. Nothing works. it won't let me associate it with the plugin so when i try to click it just downloads them.

Can someone, anyone, help me fix this?

New installs of fedora LXDE with FF-32, no addons (I've tried several times). Crash may occur while watching youtube video or when it is paused. Sometimes it crashes when opening an e-mail and the next time, same e-mail, it won't. I have reset FF to default, used new profile, reinstalled and upgraded FF. No difference. I have tried to run a backtrace per Fedora's guidelines but have not been successful.

I tried going on to vocaroo.com to record something and it isn't picking up my mic.

For some detail, the mic is built in to my webcam. My webcam is recognized but not the audio. As in, the video works, but there's no audio.

I have checked the sounds/hardware devices and it's not that. Everything is how it should be in terms of volume levels and default devices.

I've also updated the drivers, and they're up to date, but it still won't work.

The audio is detected on the webcam software but not on Firefox. :/ It's like this on all sites.

Please help!

Edit: Also, disabling/enabling hardware acceleration didn't do anything.

It seems like in the last month or so YouTube's HTML5 player has slowly been broken on firefox, whether this is due to changes in Firefox or YouTube I don't know. The biggest issue is the "infinite buffer"; this is often caused by seeking the video, the loading animation will come up but the video will not play even after a long wait. The major issue is that this will persist throughout the session and attempting to close firefox will not close the process forcing you to kill it before restarting. A more recent problem that has come up is frame dropping, it seems it will drop frames at a random rate as long as the video buffer is still being filled.

I have already taken the necessary steps to make sure no plugins, extensions, or personal settings were causing these issues.

edit: Switched to aurora 34.0a2 and enabled media.mediasource.ignore_codecs, frame dropping issue is fixed. The infinite buffer issue is still occurs 100% of the time when attempting to seek but it no longer persists though the session and the process properly closes though there is now a small chance firefox will crash while seeking (though may just be a result of aurora being an alpha build). This is true whether or not the video is actually using MSE & h264 so I do not believe it is a factor.
