I was using Firefox on my PC for a long time, but after one of the more recent Windows updates, Firefox began to cause my computer to crash over and over again, blue screen of death, multiple times each day.
I eventually began to use MS Edge, and did not have ANY crashing problems with Edge.
After finding that Edge worked without crashing, I eventually removed Firefox completely from my machine.
BUT, Edge and Microsoft are WAY too intrusive.
Edge kept using Bing as the search engine, no matter what I did to disable it.
I changed the registry entries, based on several different online documents that I found.
I removed Bing as one of the search providers.
I went to the Bing website, where I turned it off.
I am sick of BING. I hate it.
So, I recently searched for the latest 64-bit version of Firefox, and installed it.
Low and behold, it worked great for about 1 week.
Now, it's starting to hang several times each hour.
What I mean by that, is that the cursor freezes, then after a few seconds, my PC makes one sound, signaling that it's seen the freeze, and after 2-3 more seconds, I get a second sound, and the cursor frees up again.
This behavior is getting worse and worse, but it only occurs when I am moving the cursor, or trying to move and click on something inside of the browser.
I do not remember it freezing on any other external apps.
I am running the latest version of Windows 10 Professional, and everything is current and up to date.
I am running on a Lenovo P70, with 17-inch touch-screen, 8-core Xeon processor, with 64GB of RAM.
If I could get BING off of my laptop, I would consider using Edge.
But, I much prefer Firefox, because of it's privacy.
However, it does not do me any good, if it keeps hanging, or causes my WinBlows OS to crash.
