I've searched this topic since last week and I haven't come up with a proper solution. The "density" solution is still too big for me. I tried doing css, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong because there's no effect.

If you know anything how to make the tab bar thinner to make it less intrusive to the websites I always visit, please let me know. And btw, I'm not that smart in changing settings, and especially in coding like css so please do a step by step of everything I need to do if you know a solution. Thank you so much

On ubuntu 20.04, the snap version of firefox can't play some videos. Some youtube videos will play but streams won't, and then I get the message "to play video, you need to install the required video codecs". On telegram web and tweetdeck I also get this message while trying to play some video.

Since it's a snap, nothing I do on my system will solve the problem, I cannot install any codecs.

It's firefox 89.0

I run FF on both a Windows machine and a MacBook Pro. On the MBP the browser does not save my tabs, despite "restore previous session" being selected. I do not have this problem on the Windows machine.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the browser but it has not made a difference.

I'm running the latest version of the browser and the OS is Big Sur.

My tab bar and menu bar background is white. I have the latest FF version and I hear it should be black but it isn't. It used to be but I may have changed something and lost it?

How do I make it black for ease of visibility - but not the web pages (just the upper bars). I have searched for hours and none of the answers either match what to do, or work.

Hi - I have been using Kaspersky Password Manager for many months, and it has great autofill capability for many browsers. It has been working great with Firefox, but as of a month or 2 ago... it suddenly stopped working. I checked my extensions and it's no longer there. When I search for Kaspersky extensions... I don't see it anymore. Only "Kaspersky Protection", etc. Does anybody know if the extension isn't available for the current Windows version of Firefox? Of COURSE it works great in the (C-Word... CHROME!) Yuk. Thanks.

Hi! With the latest update to Firefox, the tab height is now taking up too much of my vertical screen space and the option to make them compact seems to be gone from where it used to be in the settings. I've tried to search for an extension to fix this, but haven't managed to find one. What do you all suggest I do?

(I don't want to use Chrome. It takes so much RAM that I can't really run both Chrome & Discord at the same time, let alone anything else with it.)

Thank you!

In most standard Windows applications, the title bar and tab colour follows the default Windows settings, e.g. (in my case) the title bar and tab colour of active application windows is blue. This is true even in Thunderbird. Since FF 89, title bar and tabs are something between white and light gray, which is extremely user-un-friendly. FF developer team should return to the previous colour scheme. Yes, I know the circumstances of free software but this is NO excuse to alienate millions of users. Developers that change fully functionable software just, well, just to CHANGE it should consider that they are doing WRONG. Could anyone tell them? I am just user, not developer and I am not willing to learn developer tools like BugZilla just for this simple guiding principle.

Since installing the latest Firefox update I have been unable to view Amazon Prime videos. I keep getting this error message: Digital Rights Error Your web browser is missing a digital rights component.

In your web browser's address bar, type about:addons, press Enter, and then on the left, click Plugins. For the Widevine Content Decryption Module, select Always Activate, and then refresh the video's page and try watching the video.

If the video doesn't play, go back to Plugins, click the gear icon at the top of the page, and then click Check for Updates. When the plugins have updated, refresh the video's page, and then try watching the video.

I had no problems with the previous version of Firefox. I am running in Linux Mint 20.1, Firefox 89.02, 64 bit.

About 3 weeks or so ago I started to have problems using Firefox to open my windows.live.com emails. I can open windows live (it is slow) and all my emails show but if I try to open an inbox email or even a junk email, Firefox tries for a minute or more the gives up and doesn't open the email. I have tried to re-fresh Firefox but that doesn't change anything.

If I use Google Chrome everything works fine.

I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad running Windows 10 Home, Version 20H2

Thanks - pj

In Ubuntu 18.04, I bring up a new page, click in the search bar in the middle of the page. Then when I start typing it jumps to the address bar although I have already placed and preferred the search bar to the right. No! NO! NO!

I use Duck Duck Go but Google does the same.

It is bad enough that the upgrade was automatically loaded but on top of that, changing preferences including dumping my home page. Change privacy settings without asking ( to a lower level on top of that ).

Really POOR form.

Good morning. My Firefox appears to have updated overnight and now my menu bar is a light grey colour instead of it's original black. I want to reset the menu bar colour to black because I now have no contrast between it and my tabs. I have searched the help articles but none of them tells me how to do this. I am directed down the path: settings> extensions and themes> manage your themes.

Unfortunately I can see no way to 'manage' this theme. I would mention that I am a native English speaker but any so called 'discussion' of this issue uses what I call 'geek-speak' which is unintelligible to a non IT professional.

I would be most grateful for someone to explain to me in simple terms (ie keystroke by keystroke) how to re-set my menu bar colour to black, whilst noting that the text for (file, edit, view etc) needs to then be white rather than the pale grey which it has become.

As an after thought, does anyone know which developer it is that thinks it a good idea to mess with my original view settings during an update. It is NOT helpful and, quite frankly, really annoying.

Many thanks in advance to you wizards out there Chris
