I accidentally deleted the blue star on one of my book-marked items and am struggling to get it back. Its very useful so i can see immediately if somethings already been bookmarked. Plus I could remove easily and/or put into other folders. All solutions appear to be to go to customize firefox and to drag and drop in some bar at the top of the page BUT when i do this it STILL doesn't come back. HELP!!! (Please explain in total laymens terms and don't nauseate me with technolingo.)

I had installed FF version 78 ESR in a newly formatted SSD back in 2020. At that time, two profiles were created automatically under the Profiles folder: xxxxxxx.default, and xxxxxxx.default-esr. The first profile, the one without the "esr" suffix was never used - I don't even know how to switch into it.

The non-esr profile folder had always contained only 6 files totaling about 70 KB. The contents never changed - until a few days ago.

A few days ago I noticed the non-esr profile folder was modified. It now contains 28 files totaling 125 MB. 26 of the 28 files were modified on the same day (May 23rd), at 2 different time points. That folder and contents haven't changed since then.

I continue to use FF using the esr profile without apparent problems, but I would really like to know how/why the non-esr profile got modified suddenly. Any ideas, anybody?

Old non-tech guy, perplexed... Our 2009 MacBook Pro is physically perfect, but it has OS 10.11.6. Apple's server said "no" to OS 11 or maybe even 10.12; I cannot recall which. (The 2015-16 Mac is fine with OS 12.6.3 and FF 110). Apple long ago quit supporting the older Safari. The older Mac's Firefox works well but seems stuck on FF 78.15esr. In FF Preferences it says "Firefox is up to date." Bravo, _if_ enduringly true. But I sense, among the hi-tek jabber, that even security support for 78.15 is ending soon or already has (esr is also up to about #110). Someone said "You're stuck if you cannot upgrade OS to 10.12 or higher." We have no interest in new features but need email and ordinary browsing. I can afford the cost of new hardware and app-banditry, but not the stress of shopping, migrating, and struggling through the learning curve much less a security breach. What can we do?

I accidentally right clicked and hit "Remove from Address Bar" on the Reader View icon and now it's gone. I tried typing "about:config" into the browser and searching "reader" then selecting the "reader.parse-on-load.force-enabled" toggle to "true" and that didn't get it back. Is there a way I can get it back?

Hello. I share the exact problem had by [[magicienne|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/magicienne]] (posted 4/6/21, 4:08 AM)

I too, only have the choice of importing data into Firefox. Not exporting. I've version 78.9.0esr (64 bits) of Mozilla as well and work on an iMac OS X (El capitan). My desire is to import the information into Safari v15.6.1 installed on a MacMini v10.15.7.

I've read and followed the directions posted 4/6/21, 11:20 AM by moderator [[cor-el|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/cor-el]] to no avail. The export function still does not show in the pull down menu.

•••••

The directions read: The export and import logins menu items aren't present in Lockwise in Firefox 78. • Firefox 79+ comes with an export to CSV feature. • Firefox 80+ comes with an import from CSV feature.

The LoginExport.jsm module is present in Firefox 78, but hasn't been enabled and you need code in userContent.css to get the export menu entry in the cogwheel menu in Lockwise. Add code to the userContent.css file.

@-moz-document url-prefix("about:logins"){

button.menuitem-import, button.menuitem-export {
 display:block!important;
}

}

It is not that difficult to create userContent.css if you have never used it.

The first step is to open the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page and find the button to access the profile folder. • https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-troubleshooting-information-page-fix-firefox

You can find this button under the "Application Basics" section as "Profile Folder -> Open Folder". If you click this button then you open the profile folder in the Windows File Explorer. You need to create a folder with the name chrome in this folder (name is all lowercase). In the chrome folder you need to create a plain text file with the name userContent.css (name is case sensitive). In this userContent.css text file you paste the text posted. On Mac you can use the TextEdit utility to create the userContent.css file as a plain text file.

You need to close (Quit/Exit) and restart Firefox when you create or modify the userContent.css file.

•••••

Please see attached image of my userContent.css file within the chrome folder.

I'm certain you will be able to help. Thank you for your assistance.

Once you get the DATE written correctly THEN you can hope to fix the multitude of aberrations in this confused so-called feedback loop. You are STEALING our data and nothing more. 2022 09 06 13:41:59 is the correct and ONLY way to write time. Every other method is childish and not acceptable. Ask a scientist. So to my original complaint: 1. On my macbook trash from usa I have the latest version of Firefox. 78.something 2. On my airbook trash from usa, I have the latest version of Firefox 103.something The later is COMPLETE trash and I even doubt if it is from Mozilla, but on viewing these pitiful "help" pages perhaps that is the American way. Because A. I DON'T want ANY dates written in a Son-from-sicko manner. B. I don't want more space wasted with - zoom + controls on the menu bar and beside "New Tab". C. I want to help you poor b*ggers, but if you can't speak nor write in English then clearly you will have difficulty explaining what you are trying to establish. Americans are KNOWN for not being able to express themselves using the English language. So WHY would anyone let them have ANY say in how things are organised? D. I don't want to automatically check if Firefox is the latest version and as one person complained "It keeps asking you if you want to update ten times a day". I want it (the firefox prompt) to be able to inform me a maximum of

     1. Once a day
     2. Once a week
     3. Once a month

with frequency set at a rate which is adjustable. D. I LOST all my data stored in the various TABS because on reboot (on the mac air), the Firefox (102) changed to a later version (103) and LOST all my Tab information and History!!

As I am not a typical American pervert who is ashamed of looking at various sites and thus is afraid of someone finding out what he has viewed: I do NOT need to erase History. WHY would anyone wish to erase all the evidence of the work they have spent the day doing? I NEVER erase history as I wish to keep a record of the various methods I have used in educating the uninformed, so that we ALL at some point can become enlightened. THUS, the clear DATE (WHICH INCLUDES TIME!!!) should show the very second that I logged on to each particular address. It is hence SIMPLE to see where we have wasted most of our time and therefore LEARN to avoid those sites (typically American) in future, since they have a common SOURCE (USA land where most people live in wooden huts yet use the most resources).

Now, set that in front of your team of experts around the globe to play with for the next year and come back when you have got the BASICS right!!! I've no idea how ANYONE could even THINK of asking an American something unless they wanted to know if the Crossball Rangers had done well in the SuperBall basket ball rally. J*sus f*cking chr*st get sorted. And from the first message which I had started but was delayed with your complicated sh*te wasting our time....

<There is only ONE way to display the date or time.

2022 09 06 13:26

the rest is trash from usa, which no one needs.

Ask a scientist.

"You must be signed in to add comments" should be written FIRST so that we don't waste our time writing when we have no intention of going through the tedious process of "signing in" when you guys can't even get the DATE right!!!!>

Now this whole message goes into my own records of "dealing with yanks" folder under Firefox and not mozilla, since you don't even have the ability to send us a copy of what we have written for our own convenience. Clearly almost an hour spent on trying to educate at least ONE individual (who perhaps reads this), just one hour of thousands of hours I have spent seeking to get the message across for the past thirty years. Peter Jennings (yes ABC News) was thankful that I informed him and 300 million other Americans of the earthquake back in the late 1980s but that is beyond the scope of this present matter.

I've been using Firefox browser for Facebook and other online purposes for several years. Over much of that time I periodically (several times per week, minimum) get a small pop-up box, usually while I'm on Facebook, which is headed "Apple wants to make changes. Enter your password" The "USERNAME" box shows only my first name, John, (which is my admin password for the laptop) and the "PASSWORD" box is empty. No indication of what changes Apple wants to make, so I've never put my password in, and when I hit "cancel" I have to cancel three times before it goes away, only to show up sometimes within minutes, or sometimes days. Until today I'd not been able to get a diagnosis from Apple, but their help person, after a screen-sharing session today said it doesn't come from Apple and she suggested I contact Firefox Support and ask about it. So I'm asking. The screen shot below shows what it looks like, although I closed Firefox before i took this screen shot, just to see if the box would remain, and obviously, it did. Any thoughts as to whether this is somehow coming from Firefox? Thanks, John Jessup
