I have avoided updating Firefox to keep Mcafee Webadvisor running, but recently I made a mistake and somehow Firefox updated and Mcfee no longer works. I see Mcfee Webadvisor updated in late April so they are doing their part. I have used this for years to keep my box running good and I trust them when it comes to sites and the proof is in the pudding. It has worked. I like seeing it block a site. I understand Firefox claims to now do a better job of knowing sites, but I trust Mcfee Webadvisor more. Please work with them, or have them work with us... or something.... but simply saying "Mcfee Webadvisor is blocked and that is that" is not acceptable.

Thank you for anything we can do on this.

All of a sudden, I got a notice that my Adblock Plus addon was disabled and needed to be updated. I went to their Web site and tried to download it again, but got a message that it was "corrupt". Following their Help, I found this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-install-add-ons-extensions-or-themes?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=unable-install-add-ons-or-extensions#w_corrupt-extension-files

I deleted the files mentioned, which were all extensions.json plus one extensions.ini, then closed and re-opened Firefox and again tried to download and got the same message.

I'm done using firefox until they are back on and if they aren't back by Wednesday firefox gets permanently uninstalled, and I hate using any service that is so indifferent to customer support that they rely on volunteers in a forum

I have Notifications blocking set to all websites. However, I was surprised to come to the website below and have a Notifications permission request pop up. What's the deal?

https://www.tckpublishing.com

Also, related - in Preferences, under Content Blocking, it says:

"Heads up!

Blocking cookies and trackers can cause some websites to break. It’s easy to disable blocking for sites you trust. Learn how"

But when I click on the Learn how link, it doesn't tell me how.

When I click on the Manage Exceptions button right next to the Content Blocking heading, I get a pop up that says, "Exceptions - Content Blocking" and "you have disabled content blocking on these websites." Yet there's no way to add any URL provided there.

When I go to a website that I want to not block tracking on, I click on the lock or shield symbol, and click on Permissions and am taken to the pop up and again cannot add this website address.

How am I supposed to set any Permissions if this functionality doesn't actually work?

I've been using two windows lately, each containing several important tabs. Yesterday I opened a couple of extra windows and when I restarted, only one of my main windows was available to restore from the History menu.

I immediately backed up my Firefox profile folder.

Things I tried which didn't work:

• I changed the about:config to show more than 3 previous windows, but the window didn't appear.

• I found a bunch of backups in the sessionstore-backups folder, I took one from a few days ago (titled upgrade.jsonlz4), I copied it into the main folder and renamed it to sessionstore.js, but when I started Firefox, it just loaded the windows and tabs from the previous session.

Last night I did the new firefox update and every since then I have been getting the following error on multiple sites. Including Tumblr, Google, yahoo mail, and many others.

"Network Protocol Error

Firefox has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the network protocol was detected.

Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

I have tried searching out the answer on here and most said to just clear out the cache which is what I did and I am still receiving the error at random times on different sites. I can refresh and the site will load but then if I got to another page of the same website or a different site the error will just appear again. Thanks in advance!

hi, I have an inputbox of type search inside a form tag and when I click on the inputbox the caret does not show up. If I start writing it works and the inputbox is filled and the caret appears but when I delete the characters written and the inputbox is empty again the caret goes away. In other browser it works as long as I click on the inbutbox I get focus and cursor blinking as usual, the same if I delete the input chars and the inbutbox becomes empty but still (in other browser) I have the blinking cursor waiting for the input text. thx

My Firefox Dev at work just updated to 67 beta. I noticed that username inputs that have the attribute autocomplete="email" are no longer autofilled (and right-clicking doesn't provide an option to pick a username from saved passwords). When I manually changed the attribute to "username" or "on", then it detected it as a username field. I don't see anything about this in the release notes. Is this a planned change for FF 67?

I've been accessing the following website for years on Firefox with no issues. It uses Flash, and I've never had a problem playing the game until Firefox updated to 64.0. Now when I click to play the game, it says it is loading, but it never does. I have disabled any ad blocker or other similar add-on, but it doesn't help. I keep Flash up to date, and have even unchecked the box in the plugin that says "Block dangerous and intrusive Flash content" in case that was the problem, but that hasn't helped.

I can access the site and play the game on Chrome without a problem, but not on Firefox. I'm not the only one who uses this website who is having this problem.

Any ideas what is going on? I don't want to revert to Firefox 63.0.3 if I don't have to, but I'd prefer to play this game in Firefox if possible.

Thank you!

Just going to shit up your boards every now and then until the option is restored. -Don't care if I can do it with a policy file. -Don't care if this is the way *you* think it should be So, if either of these is going to be the response, kindly suck down shot of shotgun mouthwash, you will not be missed.

There is absolutely no reason for this checkbox to be gone. There is absolutely no reason that I should have to edit some fucking json file with a "lol third party text editor" to prevent something that was formerly done with a checkbox. That's right, I cannot configure your software-- your giant, bloated, RAM and soul-sucking software from within the program. That's pathetic by any metric. Fire everybody responsible for suggesting and implementing this """""""""""BUG FIX."""""""""""""" Want to update Windows? Hurrr quit windows and edit windows.ini and then restart Windows duurrrrrr. It's like Back to the Future except we only went back to '93.

Restore the check box to disable updates. Stop obfuscating shit intentionally, and stop trying to look down your nose while telling people that it's somehow better because you did.

PS: As far as I can tell, all the original """bug""" report said was, "I'm too retarded to live, save me." Instead of doing the Spartan thing and simply saying, "No"-- we find ourselves here. With countless long-time users dropping your product so that one or two retards might continue using it.

I look forward to this complaint being thrown into the trash can, the account banned and the software remaining broken while at least $20 of Mozillabux spent on a safe space teddy bear to coddle the feelings of an incensed mouth-breather. Perhaps some sort of mandatory PTSD counseling for the staff... Anything but call the retard a retard and go back to making sane software defaults.

I am aware of the change in settings for the latest versions of Firefox. They work just about everywhere but on Yahoo.com. In addition to the global settings, I have explicitly disallowed autoplay on many Yahoo domains(e.g. https://news.yahoo.com). However the videos with sound still autoplay there, and sometimes on Fox.com (not sure whether they all do, since I seldom use that site).

How can I make Yahoo.com respect my desire not to see or hear their videos?

I've seen other topics like this, but they all are marked as solved, yet people like me keep posting in those threads, that this isn't solved. I filed a bug report, but nothing has changed in a couple releases since then.

I run debian 9.8, and rather than using the distro version of firefox, I run the mozilla version. This works just fine, but when firefox detects that it needs updating, the only way I know to do it is to log into Xwindows using the root account and do it from there. I don't want a *user* account to own the browser, but I can't seem to find a way to update without Xwindows. There are some old links about using .MAR files, but the most recent one is a couple of years old, and due to appearances, i suspect - although i didn't confirm it by following the links - that only older versions, not the current one, can be loaded that way. Enough people have looked at this that it would appear worth putting in a flat warning that this cannot be done, so that people don't waste their time looking for something that doesn't exist. Help!

I would like to pin some sites to Top Sites via mozilla.cfg. I have mozilla.cfg file, every changes and modifications works as expected, but after adding browser.newtabpage.pinned string copied from about:config, loading of mozilla.cfg end up with syntax error. The line in mozilla.cfg looks like this:

lockPref("browser.newtabpage.pinned", "[{"url":"https://1.site1.de/","label":"S1","baseDomain":"site1.de"},{"url":"https://2.site2.com/","label":"S2","baseDomain":"site2.com"},{"url":"https://3.site3.fr/index.pl","label":"S3"}]");

I don't know, where to add quotes and where/which brackets.
