Firefox has been opening multiple processes and is slowing down my computer.

I have read that this is because of an update. So, I want to completely remove all of my updates back to the one which caused the problem, and prevent Firefox from harassing me to install the new ones.

How do I do this?

Thanks for any help.

I'm currently using Firefox Quantum 64.0.2. Basically, I'd like the X that lets me close a tab with just a click to stay visible. Currently, it's only visible on the active tab. Is there an add-on, a tweak in about:config, or some userChrome.css code available to keep that X visible all the time on all the tabs?

My Firefox browser on my Windows 10 Surface Book is being extremely slow at loading web pages compared to my other browsers like Chrome. I have tried running exclusions on Firefox for both the Windows Defender antivirus & firewall. Moreover, I've tried reinstalling Firefox, disabling add-ons, configuring the performance settings, and restarting it in Safe Mode. Now that I think about it, this issue has been plaguing me for months, but Firefox will go back to running perfectly for weeks at a time, and then goes right back to being horrendously slow at loading web pages again. Heck, even a simple Google search seems to take ages to load! I really don't want to switch to Chrome or any other browser so I really hope the community can help me out since I'm not sure what else I can do. Thank you for any help on this!

My system: Windows 10 Version 1809. Firefox version: 64.0

HI.

I'm looking for code I can insert into a userChrome.css file to change the color of the top of the Firefox browser to a light/medium blue. I have the menu bar toolbar and also the tab bar on top of the browser that need to be colored this way. I also need the menu bar text (file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help) and text that appears in tabs and the minimize maximize close buttons all colored black.

I would like to make it appear like in the image below.

This actually used to be the way that Windows 10 colored FF when you select the windows 10 background and let it choose an accent color. But starting with Windows 10 version 1809 it has changed the way it colors it... making it a very dark blue. Trying to customize the color lighter via personalization settings yields problems in other elements like start menu since it makes everything lighter. I could also just use a Firefox theme but I'd rather not and try and do it via userchrome.

This is what I have so far:

toolbar#TabsToolbar {

   -moz-appearance: none !important;
   background-color: #30A8F0 !important;

}

  1. toolbar-menubar, #menubar-items, #main-menubar {

background-color: #30A8F0 !important; background-image: none !important; }

This makes the menu bar and tab bar blue but the text on tabs, the menu bar and the minimize close buttons are all white. Is there code I can add to makes them black like in the image below?

Thank you.

This seems to be an issue with Windows (running 10 Pro) on my laptop, but I'm hoping someone can help. In Windows notification settings, I can select some programs/apps, for which Windows will allow notifications (see screenshot). Firefox is not listed among these, although Opera is. I've been hoping that one of the recent Firefox updates would fix this, but that hasn't happened. I do have notifications enable in Firefox, but those notifications aren't getting through to Windows.

Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks!

Quantum in its most recent versions has simply stopped prompting for new or changed passwords on Mac OS X, even though all the correct boxes are ticked or unticked. This is really annoying as my memory is failing and I count on the password manager to save and update all my passwords. The ones which were saved in past versions of Firefox are still there, but anything that is from a new website or has been changed isn't. I can mostly change the updated ones manually, but can't put in new websites and their passwords myself. What am I doing wrong?

I want to use Google as my preferred search engine. I have selected it in preferences as my search engine, and I have deleted all other search engines. However, every time I restart my browser application, Firefox re-adds Browser default" search engine (which is Yahoo!) and selects it, so that I have to go back into my preferences each time I start Firefox to reset my search engine preferences. Please tell me how to make my search engine selection "stick" so I don't have to keep changing this in preferences every time I restart my browser.

I drive a MAC iOS 10.11.6 and Firefox Quantum 64 bit.

Today I tried to restore a Firefox session after a crash and the Session Restore page came up with the restore session button greyed out and the list of tabs to restore is empty.

There is also no option to restore the previous session in the settings drop-down menu.

The next thing I did was check the Mozilla Support forums and found some helpful advice: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1204253 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1216918 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1224948

Based on this advice I went to "sessionstore-backups" in \Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ and backed up the files I found there. I even used ShadowExplorer to find some earlier copies of said files and copied those as well.

So -with Firefox closed- I copied an older recovery.jsonlz4 and replaced the new one with it.

Sadly, when I then open Firefox, the same thing happens. Recovery page with no option to recover, 0 tabs present.

Am I doing something wrong?

P.S. I should add that I simply DO NOT HAVE a restore session option in my drop-down menu. See attached images.

P.P.S. No longer having the option to get the "ask to save and quit" notification when exiting the browser is a travesty. That option should be brought back ASAP. Both for the extra warning before quitting, and to give you the ability to choose whether or not to discard certain tabs.
