The other day I updated Firefox from 58.0.2 to 59.0.2 and upon restarting my browser I discovered that most, not all, but most of my tabs wouldn't load.It was just a blank screen when I would click on one.I would right click the back and forward arrows and it would show the session history for that tab, but that's all.I couldn't go forward, or backward, or even reload. After freaking out a bit and getting frustrated over not knowing what was happening, or how to fix it, eventually I rolled back my browser to version 58.0.2.Then my tabs were working again.

I could open new tabs, but I don't want to and shouldn't have lose my current tabs with all their session histories just to update my browser.I thought I would bring that to....I don't know....someone's attention in the hopes that Mozilla will fix this because I don't know how to contact them directly.

Since updating to Firefox 58.0.2 I am constantly getting a blank website with 'we're having trouble finding that site. Going back then trying again then opens the site. Chrome and Internet Explorer open the sites first time without problem, so there is an issue with timing in Firefox, probably due to the slooooow operation of it compared to the other two sites. How can I set a timing parameter to stop Firefox from defaulting to this now annoying page straight away, without waiting for it to check itself and go to the website immediately. I am assuming that the first time something downloads but Firefox has not been setup properly to read the download within its own delayed time, and the next time the download is available so the website opens. Having to check everything twice makes browsing in Firefox an even slower experience that before. It appears each update is slower than the last! And yes, I have tried completely uninstalling all previous versions and only installing this version. Another Firefox waste of time.

Emergency

i sell on eBay and use two different laptops, both with Firefox; one is a Toshiba 64bit Win7 and the other a Lenovo T61 with XP. This morning the passwords for both accounts on both machines would not let me in noting incorrect password.

No matter what, flushing browser caches, disc cleanups, re-entering passwords, etc., nor resetting passwords with eBay support using old and new passwords - no getting in at my end. Both machines, same morning.

eBay could not see any issues at their end and i COULD get in using IE, so it must be FireFox.

I'm running the latest Firefox on a Windows 7 laptop with only a Dual Core processor & only 4 GB of RAM. The e10s multiprocessing is hogging way too much memory & is slowing Firefox down. I've been told to open up about:config & go to browser.tabs.remote.autostart & set any settings there to false. I've been doing this but it keeps resetting itself between internet sessions or when my laptop powers off & on again. I need the multiprocessing to be permanently disabled.

Firefox will not open. I just get a crash report every time I try. The article upon which I have furnished this information is: http://mzl.la/1BsPzbi

I wondered about my firewall: Comodo Internet Security. It is problematic in allowing any System 32 files to send anything to the Internet.

After upgrade to FF 59, the saved logins are missing. I create a new profile, sync, and in the session the logins are back. But, if I close the FF and open it again the logins did not reload (I´ve typed the master password). If I do the process (create a new profile and sync) they appear (in the session), but they do not reload after a close/open the FF. It occurs on my 2 computers. I have already drop all the files and reinstalled FF 59. I downgrade to the FF 58.0.2 and it works perfectly after close/open the FF. Suggestions?

When I create a message in Outlook Web Access, the backspace stops working if I add bullet points or numbering that indents. I've tried the same thing in Chrome, IE, and Edge with no problem. I am able to reproduce this problem in Firefox version 58, 58.02, 59, and 59.01

I found this bug report for version 52, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1315065 but do not see any fix I can apply to resolve this issue. I've tried this on Windows 10 64bit and Windows 7 64bit. Exchange version 15.1 build 544.27

I am unable to change the name of anyone of the files I download, there is just NO spot to change the name. That was one of the reasons I quit FireFox years ago. I have to download the file and than when it is done, go into Explorer to change the name to what I want. Usually, it is just changing the date to be behind the name but there is NO where to do that??? Also, when I to download, the box of how I want the file TO OPEN or SAVE to a folder, the box is this "to do this always" is dulled out and will NOT allow me to check it and quit get bothering for everything I download. This was also a problem years ago and was another reason I quit. I got tired of NOT being allowed to name my file and reapeating over and over what I wanted to do with the file. After four years and many updates, it is still a problem with FireFox. Google will let me do both things, Opera will let me do them, even Brave will let me do the two things but NOT FireFox, why is that???? I have tried the new FireFox out several times in the last two weeks but it looks like I will be heading back to Google or Brave if I cannot find a fix for this. I do appreciate how you were able to get it to run faster and that is very good and also it was another reason why I dumped the old version. But out of three problems, you only addressed one??? Since I know other Browsers handle this without a problem, I am left to wonder why FireFox has not dealt with it. I used you older versions for many years until it got really slow and the download problems finally got too irritating. Thanks for listening to me and I hope there is finally a fix before I go back to Google!!

Hello dears.

Starting around April 20th, I've been receiving up to eight crashes per day of Firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox at least four times, including downgrading the browser to an older version and 100% wiping ALL Firefox-related data. I do a large amount of web development work using Firefox and often have upwards of eight or nine tabs active showing different web pages or different user interfaces to aid in this work, and when Firefox crashes reloading them all takes up to ten minutes (including time to re-find and re-write what I was working on in the first place).

I am using Lubuntu 17.10 with KDE Plasma installed as the desktop environment. Currently, I am on Firefox 58.0.2, however when the crashing started I was using 59.0.2.

The crash reports which I read regularly cite libc-2.26.so, and from hovering over the red bar under it I get "missing symbol" suggesting that the file is missing, but I have verified the file exists several times in various locations across my system. My frustration with this problem keeps growing each time it crashes because at this point I'm fairly certain I've done everything I can to fix this (except asking other people here for assistance).

Here are the five most recent crash reports:

bp-2aca1316-4fb4-413a-b503-4efa40180430
bp-c7025ada-8359-47fe-9acf-1defb0180430
bp-b3121ac1-d7a9-4ae4-9546-6865d0180430
bp-70d032ed-a1ce-4568-884d-947960180429
bp-570c3ce6-4332-4782-a9a3-53c6e0180428

They all point to the same file, though the way it gets there seems to differ.

If anyone has any recommendations or thoughts on why this is happening and what is causing it, I would be very happy to hear them. This crashing has been causing me an unreasonable amount of stress.

If you need more information about my system other than what has been provided, please ask.

Thank you. ~Xyr

The problem I have is with the order that firefox provides suggestions based on my browsing history.

At the top of the auto-fill heap as I begin typing in the Awesome Bar (where you type the target URL) comes a site I visited years ago, a maps website provided by a local government of a country I no longer live in, I use maps.google several times a day, yet even though the one I never visit is alphabetically closer to 'Z' than 'Google' it still comes first in the list. Meaning I need to type a lot more of the URL to get where I want to go rather than typing 'M' and 'Return/Enter' in a fraction of a second.

It's just a small niggling thing I've not been able to solve for years that wastes my time and annoys me just a tiny bit every day. I can't find a cookie to delete and ask here if any one knows how to delete all traces of the one I don't want.

Thank you!

As you can see from the screenshots, I wanted to open up a lot of blank gmail login tabs so that I can log in using different accounts after logging out of the first one, I needed to check something on multiple accounts in a quick manner, yes, i know I can use one tab or one window from within the gmail page and log in multiple accounts but that takes an extra step and I have the @domain already set up in the duplicated windows, so this saves time by me just going on and typing the username.. I literally wanted to set up a lot of windows right on the sign in screen but leave it empty so that I can go on the first tab, sign in to gmail account, search for what I needed to using that account, closing tab, typing in username on next tab, sign in, and repeat the process.. but this bug where if I duplicate the mail.google.com page to multiple tabs, if I sign in from the original one or any of the duplicated tabs, all of the other tabs automatically refresh themselves and sign in with the one account I used, again, as you can see from screenshots, clearly a bug, this is not normal..

I received an email from Mozilla and the very first sentence reads "Ever come across an article that would pair nicely with your morning commute? Wish you could get it on your phone without the fuss of sending yourself an email?"

I am appalled that Mozilla is recommending people be on their phones while driving. I like Mozilla, but if this is the culture they promote, I may have to be done with them.

I wanted to post this on Mozilla's page before I put it on facebook or any other social media. I want to make sure I'm not over re-acting.

Hello,

I've been using Firefox just fine for years without any issues, however recently I ran firefox as Admin mode to test something and once started I noticed that a very old extension was resinatalled and shortly after Firefox crashed... When I started Firefox again everything seemed normal, till I opened Gmail and it asked me to login..so I started to open few more websites where my sessions is saved, and they all required me to login, that's when I knew that something wrong with the cookies happened, however history/bookmarks etc seems to be there

I did open "cookies.sqlite" with a sqlite browser software and it only returned 35 lines even though the file size is 2mb

Is there anyway I can recover the cookies? this is really important to me

Crash ID: bp-f056dca8-a031-4013-a087-a4cd00200404

Using Firefox on Windows 10. Firefox is up-to-date, version 59.0.2 (64-bit). Windows 10 is up-to-date. The issue is that after a small amount of time, closing a tab in Firefox starts to lock up Firefox. I can unlock it by hitting the Windows Start key. But then, sometimes the tab closes and sometimes the tab is moved to a new window.

It seems that multiple commands are queued while it is locked. If I hit the close button multiple times and the first hit locks (and I don't realize it), then when I hit the Start button multiple tabs are closed as my mouse hits are processed (or the first tab is moved to a new window, or multiple indeterminate things happen that are hard to characterize).

Hitting close tab does not always lock up. About 80% of the time it locks up.

This happens with the mouse or with touch. I am running on a Surface Pro 2017.

I have tried resetting and reinstalling Firefox. No affect. I have tried running in Safe Mode. No affect.

No other program on my machine exhibits this behaviour.

I am posting this from a different machine, so browser data gathered with the post is invalid.

Memory spikes to 12GB in a few seconds when attempting to access this website on 19 Apr 2018, before 11:00am CDT:

https://www.theguardian.com/us

The page never loads, and I have to use the task manager to kill FF. At that same time, Chrome handled it with no problems.

Sometime after 11:00am, something changed, and the page loaded immediately, with no huge memory consumption.

Is there some way to track or log enough information to pinpoint the problem?

After two months or so with Firefox 59 I'm now experiencing frequent enough to be regularly annoying hangs and freezes. My OSs haven't changed, my browsing habits haven't changed, and Firefox has changed.

As speed goes, the improvements of Firefox 58 were nice while they lasted. I'm back to 58 now, with no automatic updates, to see how things go.

Just feedback here for any listening developers.
