Hi, how do I change the screen resolution?
I keep being told to change the screen resolution but am not sure how to do this and would appreciate some advice before I do the wrong thing.

I used to be able to click MP3 files, way back when, and Firefox would ask where I wanted to save them. Nowadays it opens a new tab with a flash player. Clicking on 'unknown' files, like .sid, .prg, .zip, .rar pops up 'This is a BIN file. [Cancel] [Save]'. It does not give me a checkbox for 'always do this'. I would like the option to edit so that some file types, such as PDF, regardless of mimetype, always get opened in a new tab if clicked. Also some file types, based on extension, always go directly to 'Where do you want to save the file?' dialog box, regardless if there's a builtin player or viewer or not. In my Firefox (41.0.1 Ubuntu 14.04LTS 32-bit) I never get the 'do this for these files always' choice anymore. Googling led me to delete my mimeTypes.rdf file, and since then even 'well known' file extensions, like .zip, are treated as BIN files and I get the Cancel-or-Save box for those, too - again without the choice to 'always save BIN files'.
I just wanted to know if the Options, of Downloading a "Fresh Copy" of FireFox was the Same as "Refresh FireFox: ??? Thxs again, Okieboy7

I am legally blind. It has become a never-ending struggle to get Firefox to display colors properly. I use the high contrast black theme. and Firefox is configured to display white text on a black background. Recently I needed to tweak the colors for unvisited links. I couldn't because the palette colors were all black. I found a fix here to toggle the state of (I think) browwser.treference.inconfig. That gave me the old options screen back and it worked. Now I can't go back because the addons screen and about:config display white text on a white background.
i would like a breakdown of what I have from mozilla firefox but either I am looking in the wrong place or I dont have a firewall?

Can't start Firefox 41.0.1 (get the crash report dialog) Crash Reason: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_EXEC I Can start in safe mode. (plugin page says Norton Tool Bar not compatible with this version of FF) I completely uninstalled Firefox and all directories associated with it. cleaned the registry and tried again.
I think the Norton extension is causing the problem, but don't know how to remove it. (there is no remove button)
Thanks

I admit it. I downloaded a free program and got hijacked by Yahoo.
I've tried many of the typical solutions found on the web and I think the evil doers at Yahoo have read them too and have written a better more obnoxious malware.
I've downloaded the new Firefox and installed it, tried refresh, and so on. I have re-set my default browser and what happens is I get two tabs upon startup, one is my default and one is the Yahoo slime.
Please help me get this disease off my browser!

Regardless if I select New Window from the file menu; do a Control-N; or select Open Link in a New Window when I right-click on a link, nothing happens. I can open a New Tab without any issues, but not a New Window. I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit.
I believe this starting happening after version 16 which was several years ago....back then, I just stop using Firefox. However, I would like to start using Firefox as my primary browser and would like to be able to open new windows instead of new tabs. Please advise.

I've been trying to figure out how to use the capture and print button, or add on or whatever you call it. I press on it and the whole page changes to a different color, then I try to clip out the section I want but I don't know how to send it to the printer. Can anyone help me with this. I'm not to savvy with tech stuff, but when I find a recipe or something else and it doesn't have an option to print out just a certain area, I can't figure out how to use it????
Thank you,

When I right click on anything for any reason my right click menu is smashed together. The options are all stacked on top of each other and can't be read. It doesn't matter if i am clicking on something or just on blank space. It happens on every website I use. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, used the "firefox tune up" tool and uninstalled all my add ons. None of this has helped.

Adobe's FlashPlayerPlugin 19 consistently causes FireFox to freeze. Waiting does not seem to result in an unfreeze. Have been using Windows Task Manager to stop the FlashPlayer process in order to unfreeze FireFox. This is awkward and time-consuming, and it's unlikely that Adobe will do anything to fix the problem. Thanks,

Bookmarks have stopped working (i.e. I can't create new ones) in Fx 41.0.1. My old bookmarks are all still there, and they still work as expected. Formerly when I created a bookmark ('Bookmarks > Bookmark this page') I'd get a dialog so I could determine whenre the bookmark was to go. Now I get nothing, and I cannot find any new bookmark.
I do not know exactly when Fx updated itself to 41.0.1, but I first noticed this problem 2-3 days ago.

I refreshed my firefox browser. When I did so it changed the settings in my application panel. Now I can not get firefox to automatically save zip, rar, package or other files that were set in the application panel before I did the refresh.
I guess I need to know what file do I copy from the Old firefox data folder, to reset these types of files to automatically save to my downloads folder.
I hope you can help me, Miriah
