Default home page setting is easy enough but when clicking the "+" to open a tab I want to set the page that it defauts to. You would think that it would do the default home page but it doesn't and I cant find where to set it.

Very recently the way CSS changes are displayed changed : now I need to use "Command + Shift + R" EVERY TIME... in the past just reloading the page would show the modifications.

I've also detected that ClearCache extension doesn't work anymore, neither does CacheToggle. I suspect something has been changed in the way the cache is handled.

Any idea ? Using Command + Shift + R all the time just to see a CSS modification is a real pain in the butt and if every extension allowing me to disable caching don't work anymore I don't see any other solution.

Today I get an error that says secure connection failed. It appears to be a TLS Error but I do not know how to fix it. This is for a customer computer that I recommended Firefox to. It was working great until today. I have tried it on two different computers with Firefox installed in two different locations. The page works fine from Internet Explorer (bleck) and Google Chrome (bleck again) Please tell me what I need to do to fix it. The computers in question are running Windows XP on one and Windows 8.1 on the other.

I have tried to remove it the usual way from the browser, it gets rid of it for a little while and then it installs itself again. There is nothing in the uninstall programs and i have tried to find it in the registry with no result.

It produces popup adware on different sites. etc. eBay.....

Every time I try to log in to my bank's secure website with Firefox at https://www.huntington.com/ I get a grey triangle icon with exclamation point and the message when I hover over is "This website does not provide identity information". But when I open the same website in Internet Explorer there is no warning and it shows as being fully secured. The same thing happens intermittently when I browse to ebay's secure log in.

When I've been playing YouTube videos lately, I've noticed that a bunch of black boxes have been appearing over the player interface (The controls below the video) while the video is playing. Unfortunately, I can't provide a good screenshot, as the boxes come and go too quickly for me to get them. This issue still occurs if I restart Firefox in safe mode. I think it started happening with Firefox 37.

I have tried following the advice offered in the few different threads I have found on this but nothing fixes it. I want the cursor to be in the address bar when I open a new window and/or when firefox opens without restoring a previous session. I fixed the issue for new tabs via about:config but this doesn't work for new windows. I tried safe mode and the problem persists. In new private windows the cursor is in the address bar.

This issue involves accessing an errant Comcast email address through Comcast home page - Comcast records do not show this username exists anywhere within their system, and said it is a firefox issue. The unwanted name only appears when using firefox to access Comcast home page, and the drop sign-in window. When you click on the bad username, the message states the address is not recognized. The bad username does not show when the Comcast home page is brought up using chrome, or internet explorer. Would appreciate advice on how to delete this unwanted username that seems to be hiding somewhere within firefox system. Grateful to all who would attempt to help.

When I click on links in other programs than Firefox it opens a new window for every link. I would like it to open a new tab instead, is this possible? I got the "Open Link in New Tab" box ticked so clicking on links inside Firefox does work like I want it to.

I am running Mac OSX 106.9. (Go ahead and laugh.) Firefox 37.0.1 I recently lost on of my bookmark folders. I have no idea how it happened. I don't do back-ups. (more laughter....) And I am not "root" tech savvy. Can anyone help me? Anyone have the patience?

I clicked a button to allow the Bookmarks to open in the sidebar instead of in a tab. I didn't realize what that meant and now I can't find the way to turn that off.

Hi. I can't sync Firefox from my old Surface Pro 2 to my new Surface Pro 3. Both run windows 8.1. Firefox synced OK over a year ago to my Surface 2 OK but I lost the password.

On SP2, I updated FF, deleted the old Sync account and set up a new Sync account. On SP3, I set up the same account. When I sign in to the SP3 sync account, the message "Sync will start momentarily" displays but nothing happens.

Following your forum suggestions, I made these changes to both SP2 and SP3. 1. Disconnect and reconnect to Sync. 2. Delete the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder with Firefox closed and possibly delete the Weave folder as well. 3. Delete and re-create the FxA account. at https://accounts.firefox.com/settings

I also Reinstalled FF on SP3. Same message but won't sync. Appreciate any suggestions.

Ever since a recent update Firefox has displayed some odd behaviour surrounding gifs. Occasionally, after viewing pages with large numbers of gifs and/or several very large gifs, Firefox will do things like not animate gifs, or even not load images at all,a and won't stop until I restart Firefox. What is more concerning is that sometimes in these situations Firefox will simply hang and stop responding, forcing me to kill the process. The behaviour persists when I restart Firefox in Safe Mode.

Allianz Life says that Google Chrome Fame is going away and it is the cause of this problem. Suggestion is to get a different browser. Can't use Firefox anymore?

I'm testing a security flag in Firefox's config that will let my ignore HSTS certificate settings, but it doesn't actually seem to do that. I've triggered a certificate error from facebook.com, and attempted to set security.cert_pinning.enforcement_level to 0 as shown in the image to ignore the warning, but it won't anyway. I know that facebook.com is a protected domain (https://code.google.com/p/chromium/codesearch#chromium/src/net/http/transport_security_state_static.json), but I was hoping that the config change would override the cooked in protection. Can anyone confirm that the list can't be bypassed?

Both menu items 'Downthemall' and 'DtAOneClick' work fine, I still get a list of links and/or files on the current web page, but when I activate the download manager by clicking 'Start' or 'Add paused'. I get a totally grayed out download manager window with a blue 'info' icon and the text 'Loading...' in it. Nothing further happens. I haven't tried *all* other add-ons I have, but the ones I use most frequently, are still working fine. Short of hunting for and installing the previous version of Fx (that was working perfectly fine) any suggestions?

I have attempted to change my privacy settings for history from remember history to custom settings and it always returns to remember history. I have tried every correction including refreshing Firefox, deleting prefs.js file, checking my Norton Security Suite to be sure that Firefox Cleanup is off, sync is turned off, and all other recommendations that I can find with an online search of the problem. Other than a full Firefox removal and fresh installation is there any other recommendations that I may try to allow the change in my history setting. The reason I ask is recently my browser will not permanently store my cookies. When I try to enter a password protected websites (my bank for example) I have to answer a question prior to entering my password. I have to do this every day. Previously I was able to register the computer and it would not require the question to be answered unless I cleared my cache, history and cookies. Now it seems that the cookies seem to disappear when I shut off the computer or after some unknown period of time and I must go through the procedure to properly identify myself and my computer to the website. This is a private computer with no access by anyone else and it has become cumbersome to reenter the requested information each time I go to some of my usual websites. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate with Firefox 37.0.1 as my browser. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This question's been asked before but I didn't actually find the answer. Thing is I'd like to add icons to my bookmark as in IE. I know sites with favicons automaticly loads the icon. I have sites (my router and other stuff) with no favicons so I'll have to add those manually. Now how do I do that? (Maybe the only way is to create the bookmarks in IE and then import 'em but that would be 1 - 0 to IE :-)

When I type www.amazon.com and then sign in on my 37.01 firefox (SHA1 13fbc8686b0bc443f77297743443958e3d471d73) the following appears in the URL field with an exclamation icon in front the URL.

If I open the same web site on the same workstation using a different browser it works showing the proper https. Also if I copy the URL address to Firefox it works showing the proper URL value.
