Hey there.

Despite having both the latest plug-in for Adobe Flash (17.0.0.169) and the latest Mozilla Firefox update (37.0.1), I seem to be unable to actually use Flash in much of anything. This is especially frustrating because even just a few hours ago I was watching a Twitch stream, closed out Mozilla, and then went to bed. I am uncertain as to what is the cause of this problem.

On Twitch, the browser will freeze for 10-20s before I see a message in the chat service "Failed to load Flash" or something along those lines. On YouTube, I get a Script Error where I'm prompted to continue running, debug, or stop a script incoming from yt.img.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled all of Adobe Flash. I have also gone into Firefox Safe Mode in which the issues persisted. Additionally, I have tried to load either site before and after clearing my cache - with no difference between tests. Furthermore, I have already tried adding yt.img to a blacklist and, while I could load the stream page or video page without trouble, I could not actually see the video. I'm using Windows 7 (64x) and have not had any similar issues with Firefox even up until last night.

For something that seems to have snuck up during the night, this issue is pretty frustrating to encounter. I'll edit this post and attach images in a moment.

EDIT: Attached images and confirmed that this problem is local to Firefox itself. Adobe Flash seems to work fine in my IE (which I only just now used to test it).

I am having a problem with Java and firefox. Any webpages that use Java either cause firefox to hangup(tabs are still clickable, and the window title changes but the page does not), or crash all together.(I can't even use the Detect Java app on their website, it just causes the hang, and never recovers)

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java and Firefox several times in different orders and nothing has corrected the problem yet. Java does not work in safe mode either. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro, Java 8, 45, and Firefox 37.0.2. I suspect that it a problem with either my computer or settings in Firefox because I am not getting any popups asking me to allow/deny pages that want to use Java like I get with IE. But Java does not work in IE either.

If there is any other info I can provide please let me know, I'm going nuts with this trying to figure out the problem and I'm stuck.

Very similar issue to this, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1056423. Am able to get to http://www.independentagent.com and then when the 'sign in' link is clicked (which redirects to https://sso.iiaba.net/login.aspx?sid=xxx) this error shows:

Secure Connection Failed

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I ran the sso.iiaba.net domain through https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=sso.iiaba.net and it reports a few warnings but gives the site an overall rating of B.

      • Fixed. As noted we were supporting old ciphers. We trimmed and resorted the cipher list and now we get an A on the ssllabs.com scan. Firefox works now, no problems. I wish the original error message was more descriptive.

Hey Team,

I am having issues setting the defaults of Firefox for all users within our Managed Desktop environment. I have read we can use a mozilla.cfg and a local-settings.js. THough it doesnt seem to be working. I also read about the grepref all.js file. But i cannot seem to see that on our install anywhere.

Can you please assist in helping us setup default preferences for all users who connect across our terminal servers. The links i have used as references are below: http://ilias.ca/blog/2005/03/locking-mozilla-firefox-settings/ http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

Any help would be great.

Is there a way to do this. Many legitimate downloads are blocked by this behaviour.

Why isn't the download stopped the moment it is initiated? (spend hours downloading legitimate files and documents only to realize firefox deletes them without any user intervention) and why is there no option to recover the download?

So far the only way to fix this issue seems to be:

a) use a different browser b) systematically lower the security settings for the browser to download a file then re-enable the options (browser.safebrowsing.enabled and browser.safebrowsing.malware.enabled)

Thank you for your time.

When I open any website with Firefox I get multiple "ads by name" popping up all over and can't even read the website. Also, when I try to open most common websites, such as hotmail, gmail or youtube I get a message saying "this connection is untrusted", and with gmail it won't even give me the option to click "I understand the risks" so I can't get on gmail at all!

I have tried all of the following: scanning computer with McAfee, Adwcleaner, Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, Bitdefender, SpyHunter, AdGuard, Avast Browser Cleanup, and Emisoft Anti-Malware. They all show my computer as being completely clean. I have checked my Add ons, plugins and extensions. I have checked control panel "add and remove programs". I have finally refreshed Firefox. When that still did not help, I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it. Still nothing has made any difference at all :(

This is not affecting any other browser (chrome or IE)

At this point I am completely unable to use Firefox at all, and it's my favorite! Please help.

Thanks

My last update was 4/21. Since then my tabs are disappearing from view when I open multiple pages. If I move my cursor to the top of the page, they reappear. I am wondering if this was part of the update? It temporarily allows you to view a bit more of the page I am viewing, but if this is supposed to be an advantage...it is NOT. I like to be able to see what tabs I have open and not have to scroll to the top of the page every time. Please help me correct or change this...thank you.

When using Firefox—and wanting to print the article, Click File, Print Preview and you'll see the HEADER and FOOTER jammed against the TOP and BOTTOM of the page. Typically these headers and footers drop off the page when printed. Using "Page Setup", I can adjust the top and bottom MARGINS, but that DOES NOT adjust where the HEADER AND FOOTER ARE PLACED! Frustrating.

SO, how do I adjust the placement of the HEADER and FOOTER? Their placement is NOT an issue on Google Chrome, so this appears to be browser related.

Thanks

I have Java 8 update 45, build (1.8.0_45-b14) installed on a Windows 8 machine. Java is showing enabled in Firefox's About:config. When I look at Java's control panel the "enabled in browser" box is checked. But when I go test on Oracle's site it says java isn't installed or enabled.

I need Java to work because it is used by Paypal international shipping to print labels.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

Recently I cannot seem to load any YouTube videos on the first try. Sometimes they will load after numerous refreshings, but for the most part they will always show the error message after loading for a while. I have tried deleting my preferences, refreshing Firefox, trying in safe mode, disabling all plug-ins, using a flash-blocking add-on, and nothing has seemed to work. YouTube also seems to work fine for Safari and Chrome.

Does anyone have any ideas?
