Hey all.

I am looking to download the Firefox 52 ESR (at least I believe it's supposed to be 52, I dunno if it's 52.0 or one of the later builds) which is said to still work with Windows XP, in the hopes of getting Youtube working again as version 28 works fine on everything BUT that as mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1234282 , however I am extremely pressed for space on the Primary drive marked C:, which has me worried about downloading and installing a new version onto my primary internal hard drive. However I have two internal hard drives, C and W. Can the ESR be loaded onto a different internal drive (i.e. the W drive), and if so, will it be considered separate from version 28, which is my current version of the program, effectively allowing me to run both versions if I wish to? I know there is supposed to be a way to set up "profiles", which supposedly allow people to run multiple versions of a browser, but I'm not clear on how to do so as I am not a Tech guy. What I would need are pretty much simple, idiot proof instructions, on how to do this, so that I can either have both versions capable of being run, or at least be able to install the new browser to my second internal drive which has ample space to handle everything that the browser requires, space wise.

i want to know whre FF keeps links on the pc. I'm totally fed up with the stupid and impractical setup where I have to wade through a jungle of irrelventa junk to find the link i want - eventaully. With IE I put a shortcut to the Fafourites folder on antoehr drive so that i could access them, rename them, orangise them, FIND them. Where does FF hide the links? this is the second time i've had to type all this, your wonderful swebiste took me to a "sorry we can't dind that optuion" page and when i came Back i had to type it in all over again. so I'm not very happy with FF at the moment.

FF crashes at least once a week. For at least the past 4 weeks, when I re-open it and try to restore session, all the pages open as "blank". In History, "restore session" is grayed out. I've looked through the articles here about restore session, and looked at the suggested solutions and tried the ones that are relevant. Nothing worked. I suspect the problem lies in the profile but I can't find a step-by-step answer how to fix the profile saving the session correctly. I don't even know if this is the problem, but every other solution was wrong.

Firefox crashed this morning. Latest update was july, don't do ANY AUTO UPDATES of ANY software. I have NO BROWSER, using another computer. Safe mode didn't work, FF safe didn't work, everything gave me CRASH REPORTER. I then tried to follow support suggestion/video to create new profile, but even that crashes.

I am writing this to access internet from an old WinXP machine. The one with Firefox crashed is windows 7, (whose IE is old & I won't update it) has no browser to access internet. So your automated "guesses" about opsys are meaningless for my problem.

Therefore, I need to download an install file for firefox and take it to my computer on a *jumpdrive* to install.

Before installing, I need instructions for how to remove Firefox from all folders on hard drive - even hidden Local,Roaming directories, remove from configuration files, and from REGISTRY.

Once the clean install is done, I need to know how to swap out the "saved bookmarks" folder from prior profiles, so I can get my bookmarks back. I don't do much programming anymore, but career stretches back to pre-DOS days, so any instructions I will try.

Is Firefox-- or Waterfox-- still compatible with Windows XP past version 42? Plus multiple instances of Firefox

Hey all,

I recently acquired a windows 10 laptop (yay me!), so I finally have an up to date machine, and recently tried to update to version 43. For whatever reason, the classic theme restorer refused to install on it, so I tried the licensed Waterfox variant. That seems to work fine. However I have been very cautious about upgrading the Firefox version I have on my old XP machine as now that 10 is out, I don't know if you guys (or Waterfox) are still supporting XP at all, so I figured I would ask, as apparently some people have posted questions recently about issues with Firefox on XP. So, is it still supported on the older system? I mainly use the laptop for a mix of gaming and computing on the go, but at some point I'll be using the laptop full time when/if the desktop dies. Can anyone clarify this?

In addition, I recently asked about how to do multiple versions of Firefox on the same machine, and while I got an answer, it wasn't one I entirely understood, as I am not tech savvy, nor programming savvy or anything like that. Can I get a clear, concise and, if I'm honest, really simple and straightforward explanation on this? I do not understand a lot of the steps explained very well in the answer I did get on how to do this, so that leaves me unsure how to proceed and frustrated as all hell. I'd like to upgrade to the current edition of Firefox on the XP machine (if it's still supported) as well as keep the older version in case the new version has some kind of issue that requires a fix, and also be able to run both Firefox and Waterfox on the new machine for much the same reason, as I don't know what sites, if any, might not be compatible with the newer versions of the browsers. I realize that is an unlikely scenario, but I do recall someone mentioning in the past that they keep older instances of the browser on hand because this very situation has come up.
