Every time I open a new site or webpage, the automatic translation window pops up. I don't need translations and I have to choose "don't translate this page" again and again. I've searched everywhere on Firefox and I can't find a way to stop this. It is extremely intrusive and annoying. I don't understand why Firefox should decide for me what I want and what I don't want. Has anybody solved this problem.

Hi Guys, I have used Firefox browser to open and use Yahoo Finance for many years without any problems. On Wednesday 16th July 2025, suddenly, I could not download any stock charts. At first I thought it was a glitch with yahoo itself. However after a lot of searching and frustrating trial and error I seem to have pinpointed the problem to my Firefox browser. These charts will open as normal in Chrome. I have refreshed, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox without success. Any ideas please?

Colin.

this is probably something basic but i'm stumped and frustrated. just now i'm trying to track a package on the post office site usps.com - each step i take firefox prevents me from moving forward - example: to track a package i insert the tracking number into the proper field and click enter. next up is a banner from firefox saying"firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". i do the steps necessary to work around and track the package but it's annoying. this is just one example - its not limited to tracking packages or inserting long numbers into boxes - it happens - not often - but on occasion at certain other sites as well. while it may be the post office is inherently evil (i am not of that belief)i long ago accepted whatever they know about me is worth what they do for me on a regular basis - overall i consider my relationship with them as a win win. how do i convince firefox of the same? MSI notebook/laptop win 11, latest firefox updates although not a new issue - just particularly annoying today

i'd love to consign this to the category of "things that i don't think about any more" and move on to what's going to drive me crazy next - thanks for your help in my journey!

[Audio Issue] Firefox Causes Background App Volume Drop on Tab Focus — All Volumes at 100%, Issue Not Present in Portable

Issue Summary: Whenever I focus a Firefox tab (even a blank or safe mode one), the audio volume of background applications (e.g., Spotify) drops or changes audibly. It’s not a ducking effect (as all ducking settings are disabled), and Windows volume mixer shows all apps still at 100%. The issue happens only while Firefox is focused — not minimized, not unfocused.

Reproduction Steps:

Play music using Spotify or another app.

Focus any Firefox window or tab.

Background audio becomes quieter or altered — then returns to normal once Firefox is unfocused. Specifically on focus it will change system volume to 58, then return to what it was previously when unfocused.

System Info:

OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)

Firefox Version: 128.0.2 (issue present since at least 127)

Audio Output: Realtek and NVIDIA High Definition Audio (same issue on both)

Spotify Version: Latest Windows Store version

Windows Sound Settings:

Communications tab: "Do nothing"

All app volumes: 100%

No enhancements or spatial effects enabled

Troubleshooting Already Tried (No Success):

Step Result ✅ Disabled audio ducking in Windows No effect ✅ Disabled audio enhancements No effect ✅ Ran Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode (Safe Mode) Issue persists ✅ Changed Firefox audio backend to winmm via about:config No improvement ✅ Fully reset Firefox profile (about:support → Refresh) Issue persists ✅ Verified with Process Explorer (audiodg.exe shows activity on tab focus) Confirms session change ✅ Ensured all apps in volume mixer show 100% No volume mismatch ✅ Rebooted and tested cleanly Still occurs ✅ Tested Firefox Portable (fresh instance) Issue does NOT occur (portable version behaves as expected)

Additional Notes:

The issue appears to be triggered by the main installed version of Firefox only.

A completely clean portable version does not cause the volume change, suggesting something related to the system-wide install, global config, or registry entries is affecting it.

Even without extensions, without playing any video/audio in Firefox, just focusing the window causes this volume behavior.

What I Plan to Try Next:

Fully uninstall Firefox (including deleting AppData and registry leftovers), then reinstall cleanly to see if that resolves it.

Possibly test Firefox ESR if needed.

Request for Help:

Has anyone experienced Firefox causing audio session or DSP changes on focus, especially with audiodg.exe activity?

Could there be a hidden system-level or registry config that ties Firefox to a shared exclusive audio session?

Any way to trace which audio sessions Firefox creates and how Windows handles them?

Let me know if you'd like logs, about:support data, Process Explorer thread captures, or a video of the issue. I’d appreciate any help from the community in narrowing this down.

Thanks! —Justin

Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to search-crown.com. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.

If you are on a corporate network or using antivirus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem.
