Today I realized that I have installed two (2) versions of Mozilla Firefox on my Laptop PC which I rarely use.

Both editions are 64-bit type but one is version 109.0.1 (11/04/2023) in

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and the other is version 128.0.3 (28/07/2024) in C:\Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox.

I suppose it is illegal to have two versions of the same App., so the question is how can I delete the old version (109.0.1) without affecting or damaging the new version (128.0.3)?

Is Firefox now a complete tool of Google ? about:preferences#search there is no way to delete google as search engine I have startpage and duckduckgo as alternative options listed and I can remove them, but google cannot be removed as the REMOVE button is not highlighted in case of Google. Why do you hardcode Google as the default browser for the URL bar ?

From the attached image you can see that the "Remove Tab" is inactive specifically for google. I tried absolutely all advice on the net, and nothing works. Firefox now seemingly FORCES us to use google. This behavior was not present in the previous firefox version I used. It immediately happened after update to 128.0.3 (64-bit).

Is google now hardcoded into firefox ? If so it is time for a hard fork in the firefox code. Hopefully it is not needed.

So it would be better for Mozilla/Firefox to not continue the monopoly and become an enabling party in monopoly lawsuits.

On our web site we have a page that includes mp3 files, which play okay on Firefox; but on another page on the site with mp3 files, Firefox (including different versions on different computers) produces the error message, No video with supported format and MIME type found." FWIW, other browsers like Safari (Mac), Chrome (Mac and Win), and Edge (Win) all play the problematic files without a hitch.

Is there a fix for this problem that can be attempted by the non-tech types?

I get a weird green mark on the top left, which looks like some type of greenscreen cursor input thing. I have seen it on Gmail. Not sure where else. Last time was a while ago.

This is on Windows 11. Just worried if this is some type of backdoor thing.

I cannot figure out why this important site which I have used for years is suddenly being blocked. the message I'm getting says-"Firefox has detect that the server is redirection the requested address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing cookies." I don't believe I have made any changes to cookies or anything else in the past few days so I don't know what to fix.

I have been a devoted Firefox users for many years. Just in the past week or so I have started having multiple tabs crash daily and now am getting 1 or 2 blue screens a day. I run on Windows 11 Pro. What can I do to help this issue?

After your an update some weeks ago, I have not been able to access my bank account using Firefox. Got some advice from support from the bank, but since I have an US version, the labels to be accessed differed, and were not compatible with the advice. Presently using M Edge, which I of several reasons don`t want to. Any suggestions?

Is there a feature or add-on that will allow me to see all of my tabs, about 60, in a double menu instead of crammed, forcing me to use the horizontal arrows to scroll? I'd prefer to see them all at once and have them accessed immediately.

What is this tab, and why is it hidden? My usually good Google-fu didn't turn up much other than TrustArc is a cookie consent component with a terrible reputation for slowing down some sites that use it.

This morning, for the very first time in 12 years, I opened my hotmail/outlook email tab and got a completely blank white screen, and nothing more. I've restarted my laptop twice, just to see if it was a Windows glitch. Nope. I disabled ad blockers with the little shield in front of the URL--still no change.

I love Firefox and prefer to use nothing else. However, I tried to open my email with Edge and it works fine. It also works fine on my older computer that did NOT get the Firefox update, so something is amiss here. Firefox updated recently on this machine and I'm wondering if something went wrong in the update. I'm not very tech savvy, but can anyone help me?

An unwanted bookmarks toolbar appears above the URL field, as shown in the image.

After all the bookmark shortcuts it contains are closed, and FF is restarted, the marks reappear.

How can they be purged permanently?

I tried the troubleshooting mode, which turns off all the add-ons. Despite that, my Firefox still lags. For example, when I click on a new tab, it takes a couple of seconds to open. When I am typing, it takes a few seconds every now and then to catch up. Additionally, when I am scrolling, it will be unresponsive for a couple of seconds before jumping to where I supposedly scrolled to. I am using Mint Linux Firefox 128.0.3. I have used Firefox before, and I want to confirm that what i could do in the past is now no longer possible. In the screenshot, you see in the "Home" section, you are able to pick what shows for your home page and new windows. Then you see What you can choose to happen on new tabs. I have set it to pull Google's home page. You used to be able to set the new tabs to whatever you wanted as well. However, you no longer can. Is this the way it is intended to work? If so, this should be rethought. No one wants to set their browser to open a new web page whenever they want to look something up, much less just in general to get to their home page. I understand and know that you can add the home button to the toolbar, but that creates an extra step.

Now if this was intended to be this way, where may I express my dissatisfaction with this option?
