Firefox takes a very long time to open the first tab. After it opens, subsequent tabs open relatively quickly. I've tried self help suggestions like clearing cookies, cache and history, updating, even removing home page content. Nothing helps. It's getting intolerable and I end up switching to other browsers rather than sit and wait. Starting to even dread using firefox. Running Sonama 14.3.1 on my iMac. What else can I do?

When editing in Gmail, holding a key down does NOT repeat the character or action. e.g. xxxxx when holding down the "x" or deleting multiple characters when holding down the <Backspace> key.

It works properly in other apps (e.g. this dialogue).

And works okay in Gmail in other browsers (e.g. Chromium or Brave).

I'm using Firefox 124 on Linux Mint 20.1.

I use Firefox in French... but lately, the contextual menu when right-clicking on a web page shows in English. The contextual menu when right-clicking on the Menu bar or Bookmarks toolbar, is partly in French, but with a section in English (the Menu bar)... sometimes, the Menu bar switches to English (I can't seem to isolate what makes it switch or switch back). Other menus show in French and setting for language is set to French.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

I have Firefox on 3 devices, I deleted several passwords from 1 device expecting this change to sync to the other 2 devices. Instead for several days the 2 devices showed the original number of passwords whilst the device I made the changes on showed the new amount. Now that device appears to have resynced the passwords I deleted. Am I supposed to delete them on each device?

I have the latest version of FF on all devices.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!

Please read my post completely before answering! Thank you!

I'm using

  • Firefox DevEd (manually installed) as my primary driver and
  • the standard Firefox (installed from the package manager) for leisure/hobby related browsing

each with its own Mozilla account and profile, on Manjaro KDE. Sadly, either Firefox sees all the profiles. They have usually different versions. If I mistakenly start one of the Foxes in the other Fox's profile, the newer version of Firefox (usually Firefox DevEd) autostarts migrating that profile. Which it renders the profile "corrupted" for its intended Firefox.

I'd like to have Firefox DevEd unable to see profiles (or anything else) intended for the standard Firefox and vice versa. Or at least unable to botch profiles. I do not want to disable migration or use no. Given that Firefox configuration location is hard-coded, I'm not having high hopes for my wish.

I'm wondering if there is a way to keep two Firefox installations completely isolated, other than running them in containers.

Thank you for your time!

Hi. I was just looking at Google Photos on both Firefox and Chrome. Chrome had a bigger picture because the window had only the tabs bar and the address bar, and Firefox has an additional title bar. I was wondering if it would be possible to remove the title bar so the picture on both browsers were the same size?

When I try to use the Criterion Channel and several other websites that use cyberlocker video services, I get an error with no code (attached screenshot). Here's what I have tried to solve it with: - VPN - Clearing cache - turning off all extensions that target ads, pop-ups, and tracking; and making sure Firefox itself isn't blocking tracking - using the user-agent switch extension to pretend I'm on a different browser The last one makes me think it might be a Windows 10 problem and not a Firefox problem, but I'm just covering my bases. Any help is appreciated!

When i click on a tab, if I am not perfectly steady at the time of the click, Firefox opens the tab in a new windows. It happens several times a day, it's quite annoying. Searching for solutions in the support page, I've found that there was an add-on to disable this function, but now it's not available anymore. Is there a solution in 2024?

Hello!

I would like to develop an application that runs continuously, say, at a panel found in a kiosk. I am considering designing it as a webpage that runs locally through the browser but I would like to prevent the users from interacting with the OS or closing the tab and the browser. Is there a way to lock Firefox in full screen and hide the exit buttons? Alternatively, do you have another recommendation for development that is more appropriate, for instance a native app?

Thank you in advance for your help.
