I use Kaltura to record lectures and post them to my course at the U of Utah on Canvas. This semester, Firefox will not allow me to open "my media" where the Kaltura recordings are posted on Canvas. I get the following message: It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party session cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies.

I copied the Kaltura web address 670542.kaf.kaltura.com that I can see in Chrome and pasted it into a Chrome browser and it goes to my recordings in Canvas when I use Chrome. The same site doesn't work in Firefox. How do I unblock Kaltura third party sessions? Thank you.

How to Enable 3rd party cookies for Kaltura Media Application in Firefox Nightly 94.0a1

I am unable to enable 3rd party session cookies, which are required for the Kaltura application, in D2L Brightspace for online education courses in Firefox Nightly 94.0a1.

I have tried Kaltura application specific, and my educational institution specific troubleshooting with no change. I have tried changing settings in Firefox Nightly's Privacy and Security Enhanced Tracking Protections and by Managing Exceptions in Cookies and Site Data with no changes.

On the webpage of my course material there is a message that reads: "It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party session cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies." under Course Tour Video

I have further troubleshot this issue by managing the same exceptions in Google Chrome where the content is working. I have retrieved the relevant content URLs from the Google Chrome browser Kaltura video and cookie info and used them in Firefox Nightly to allow all appropriate exceptions with no changes.

After all troubleshooting, I have took the step of clearing Cookies, Site Data, History and restarting Firefox Nightly with no changes on the course page and met with the same error message.

How can I resolve this, because I would like to use Firefox Nightly as my preferred browser for my course work?

I have enjoyed using Firefox for quite some time now, it is my favorite browser. However, recently, for a reason I cannot explain, I have been getting error messages on my school's online learning system that blocks me from watching any videos in the course. The error message reads as followed- "It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party session cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies." ( For reference i guess, I go to IU which uses Canvas as an online learning platform. I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue)

I was very confused seeing this, because I hadn't recently changed or messed with any settings, I haven't downloaded any new security plug ins, but I went into my settings anyway to try and unblock all cookies using a custom settings option, under "Enhanced Tracking Protection" in settings. Reload my pages, restarted my browser, and no luck either time. I'm very confused as to why I'm seeing this error message, and it is getting in the way of my schoolwork at this point. I would LOVE to not have to download Chrome, so please help me thank you

Several Firefox updates ago, I lost the ability to retain cookies in Firefox. The result is I have to keep signing into websites (e.g., Amazon, Facebook), rather than the websites "remembering" me, which is how it had been for years.

I keep trying to add these (and other) website to Cookies "Manage Exceptions" - but I'm unable to select "Allow". When I do, only "Allow for Sessions" is selected for each website. And even "Allow for Sessions" doesn't last. The websites are gone the next time I open Settings.

Ask to save logins and passwords for websites is selected. "Remember browsing history" IS selected.

Despite a number of updates, this problem has persisted. Please help.

I'm not certain if this is the appropriate forum. However, maybe someone understands header options and cookies.

If I execute the following google apps script I receive a blank dialog with a title of "demo", and a response code of 302. This dialog is attached.

If I next click on the "follow redirects" message I receive a error dialog, and this is also attached.

I'm kind of in the dark regarding authentication. Does someone know if there is a problem with the options, or if it's something else?

Thanks,

Hi,

I need to know if the steps to delete cache and cookies in Firefox 3.5 is the same as for the latest version--this is for Firefox in Mac, not PC. I understand the newest version is 74 so I imagine the process must have changed but I dont exactly know...

Also, if the process has changed, what was the old process?

Thanks :)

In Firefox "about:config" there are 2 separate entries: "network.cookie.lifetimePolicy" (which has a numerical entry) and "network.cookie.lifetimePolicyd" which has only a true/false choice.

There is only the one character difference in their names, but an obvious difference in the setting.

What is the difference between these 2 "about:config" entries? In particular, what does "network.cookie.lifetimePolicyd" do?

I have Firefox v. 73.0.1 installed on a 64 bit Win 7 Pro SP1 computer with i5 processor and 8 GB RAM.

Hi Fine People,

This longtime Firefox user has Firefox as his default browser on a Windows 10 PC and keeps it updated. Sometimes, I try to access an article in a newspaper or magazine I'm not subscribed to and cannot open it. Instead, I receive this message (and nothing else): "Private/incognito mode detected ! In order to read our site, please exit private/incognito mode or login to continue."

I've tried on many occasions and given several hours of effort to resolving this "private/incognito mode" obstruction but cannot figure out what I need to change. I changed the setting that will not allow pop ups: the browser now allows pop ups. On cookie settings, I have always used the (recommended) standard setting instead of the strict or custom settings.

I have the Microsoft browser installed for rare use. When I tried opening the newspaper link that is blocked on my Firefox browser, I don't receive the "Private/incognito mode detected . . . " notice. The article opens and displays right away.

I can't think of anything else to tell you about this issue.

If you don't mind, please reply to my private address: jiminky@windstream.net.

Thanks a million.

Sincerely, Jim

What is firefox's cookie limit and how does it handle corrupt cookies store

I've been digging into an issue about the "A web page is slowing down your browser," and it seems that the most frequent explanation for this is corrupt cookies/cache. However, the issue wasn't repeatable on my site. After some digging, I found that its possible for a corrupt `cookies.sqlite` if the max file size has been reached and a suggestion that FF automatically resets this `cookies.sqlite` store when this happens.

I suspect that this issue happened when the user maxed out their cookies, causing a corrupt `cookies.sqlite` file. Then, when they restarted FF, their store had been cleared and they had no problems.

However, I cannot find any documentation about FF behavior when in handling corrupt cookies or resetting the `cookies.sqlite` file. I'm looking for some concrete answers. What is FF's cookie store limit, and what is its behavior (if any) when the store is maxed?

Worth mentioning, this was FF on Linux. I don't know the specs beyond that.
