When I try to play video (e.g. on youtube) Firefox is crashing, freezing and I can't do anything until I kill plugin-container. What did you do with my favourite browser?! I hate Chrome... When Google create it... all the browsers are the same as Chrome now.. wtf? The old good Mozilla Firefox got the same shitty style and it's crashing all the times i start to play video.
Reinstall the flash plugin does not work. Disabling any other extensions or cleaning whatever doesn't resolving the problem at all. My CPU and RAM are jaded by Firefox, especially by the plugin container which is flooding the ram. All the other software is running perfect on this machine. Firefox 12 with official Flash version 11.2 (from Adobe), x86 Win 7, 4GB RAM, Intel Core2Duo @ 2.2 Ghz on improved HP 6710b
I have the same version of Firefox on my desktop PC (AMD X2 5600+ @ 2.81 Ghz, 4 GB RAM) and it works great!

This is what gets me. I don't have any toolbars installed- NONE. I was at the NCH website downloading a beta version of Debut and noticed in the R upper corner of the screen the number three in what appeared to be the corner of a rolled back paper page. I got curious because it looked out of place on the webpage so I clicked the numeral 3 and walla a small window appeared with the announcement that they had located three coupons I might like to look at.
There are no toolbars installed and none in the addons list. There is nothing remotely involved wit toolbars in the extension list.
Where oh where did this thing come from and where do I have go to get rid of it. This is worse than crapware this obviously has burrowed into the system settings some how. At this point I've only seen this thing once and I view it more as a nuisance than threat. But, if someone has figured out a way to bypass the areas we normally watch to prevent this nefarious kind of marketing we have a budding problem in the malware department. I hope someone has had a similar experience and can offer some guidance.

When I signed on to Firefox this morning, I received notification that an important security update should be installed. When I installed it, a window appeared showing addons that were not supported in this new version. One of them was the Norton Toolbar. I rely on the Identity Safe part of the toolbar to provide me with automatic signons to frequently visited websites. How can I get this function back?

I cannot get rid of the Yahoo Toolbar in Firefox 12. It does not show up under extensions or add-ons.
I have eliminated all Yahoo programs (Toolbar, IM, and some updating program) in the control panel Add/Remove Programs.
I have restarted the Firefox in safe mode. There are still no Yahoo Add-ons or Extensions that show up.
I then went Help | Troubleshooting Information | Show Folder
I clicked on Show Folder.
There's a folder called "Yahoo! Inc". When I open Yahoo Inc., there's another folder called ytoolbar. I have deleted Yahoo! Inc both when Firefox was open and when it was closed. As soon as I restart Firefox, the Yahoo Inc. folder is recreated.
I am unable to remove the Yahoo Inc. folder permanently.
This is one invasive program.
How do I get rid of it?

After even uninstalling the all Themes and reverting to Default, the footer continues to display that one particular theme - Celestial. Concomitantly, against that dark background whenever the mouse cursor moves over a line in Gmail, the line turns White. Unreadable and irritating. This happened before I updated to Firefox 12 and persists when I have updated to Firefox 13 today. Firefox on my other desktop with the same Theme does not have this problem. Grateful for any guidance in getting a solution.
I am trying to install a new theme but FF is preventing me from doing so even when I click 'Allow'. Might someone help? Thank you, Leeflea

I am running Firefox 15.0.1 on Windows 7 64-bit I have Java plugin version SE7 U7, which I reinstalled and confirmed is current. However, when the Java plugin (Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U7 10.7.2.11) is disabled, then I get message when checking my plugins, "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please upgrade to the latest version". When I re-enable this plugin, the error message is not present. Thus it is misleading as the correct version is installed but disabled.

Was using Firefox 14 with Flash v.11disabled all Real Player plug-ins, disabled protected mode for Flash and Youtube was working correctly. Then Firefox upgraded me to 16.0.2, and Youtube doesn't work. When I click on a Youtube video, it doesn't give me any error message, just a blank screen.
Downgraded to Flash v.10, still doesn't work. But Youtube works OK with IE and Chrome.

I upgraded to FF 4. The Norton toolbar 5.5 is incompatible. I want to know if I am still protected by Norton while browsing even though the Norton toolbar is not installed. According to the Norton settings, the web protection is on and working. If I am still protected I will wait for an updated Norton toolbar to be available, otherwise I will need to know how to uninstall FF 4 and reinstall FF3.6.

Dear All,
I cannot get Firefox 5.0 to use Adobe Flash Player. When I run http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ I always see the message "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version." The thing is, I have the latest version of Flash plugin (10.3.181.34) installed. I have tried uninstalling the Flash plugin (including using the uninstaller form Adobe's website) and installing it again (there are no errors reported during installation) without effect.
Here is some more background in case it's relevant: +Installed Firefox 5.0 after clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The computer is on a Windows domain. +I manually copied some files (bookmarks, etc.) to the newly created profile +When prompted to install Flash player I did so. The installation had no effect in that Firefox keeps asking me to install the plugin. +Other plugins work fine (I have a limited set of standard plugins). +I have tried reinstalling Firefox (even an older version 3.6.18) and the problem persists. +I manually added the entry "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll" in about:config, with no effect +There is no mention of Flash in about:plugins
I have exhausted the solutions I have seen suggested in various places on the web. I would greatly appreciate if somebody could help me sort this issue out - I love Firefox but it's impossible to switch to different browser every time I need to view Flash content.
Best, S.
