in the last week or so anytime I click on a page a new tab will open with junk ads or a popup will come up on the screen and block content. They can be closed and deleted but it happens continually no matter what settings I have or preferences set. I have pop up blocker toggled in the settings and I have a Mozilla ad blocker but it is not working. Please help! this is really annoying!

The plugging is NOT updating and it's blocking me from watching anything on streaming. I've tried triggering the update by turning it on and off, by tugging on and off the "DRM" option in settings, by turning off the updates and then looking for updates... I went to about:config and made sure that all options were "true". What I get is an "error in downloading the update" that I can't fix.

Can someone help?

I have tried for several days to get Firefox to use this GPU; I cannot. Chrome, and Edge use this GPU without issues.

I am using Firefox 151.0 (64-bit) 20260516144017 on Windows 11 Pro 25H2, 26200.8457 Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU with latest driver: NVIDIA RTX Driver Release R595 U4 (596.36) Tue Apr 28, 2026.

Windows > System > Display > Graphics > Firefox GPU preference: High Performance (NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU)

Firefox Settings: General > Performance:

unchecked Use recommended performance settings
 checked    Use hardware acceleration when available

My latest combination of settings are:

gfx.webrender.all = true gfx.webrender.force-disabled = false

webgl.default-low-power = false webgl.disable-wgl = false webgl.disabled = false webgl.enable-prototype-webgl2 = true webgl.force-enabled = true

I have tried several combination of settings to no avail.

I always get: about:support > Graphics > Compositing: WebRender (Software).

When trying to view a Fusion 360 model or a Sketchup 3D model, I get a message that WEBGL is not supported by my device. It has always worked in the past and still works under Opera and Chrome.

With all the background auto updates, it's hard to determine what changes have been made to my PC prior to it stopped working.

After searching for solutions and going through the checklist:- 1. My video (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti) drivers are up to date, 2. "Use hardware acceleration when available" is checked in Firefox. 3. "WEBGL.disabled" is set to false.

Is there some other tweak in Firefox that I'm missing? I'm assuming it's a Firefox issue/bug as it works in other browsers... just tested Edge... worked OK.

I'm running Windows 11 on a fairly high end PC which I believe is up to date. Last checked 12 hours ago.

Any suggestions would be appreciated... however, please consider that I'm just a dumb user and not a techo.

I had security set to strict in previous version and it blocked the ads in Yahoo email. With this new version I haven't found a way to do this. Please enable the feature again or let me know if there is a workaround.

While on my bank account, I have always been able to click on see image of check. And a copy of the cashed check would be able to bee seen. For whatever reason I can no longer see a check image. Box opens, no image.

Hello, since 3 days on my windows pc I am not able to see the google login page and use gmail at all. The error message tells Javascript has to be installed. It all worked fine days ago.

The Firefox icon on the taskbar on my PC suddenly appeared to have a 'rosette' stuck to it. I didn't understand what was happening? I decided it was not relevant to me and while I was attempting to get rid of it, I unintentionally deleted my personal profile in "Profiles"! This contained many important bookmarks and the important password manager extension. I am not very technical, but please can you show me how to recover my profile? Many thanks, Norman Clarke

We thought this is simple. But it looks like we need to have words explained to us. Setting firefox to never remember history makes it produce some claims that it looks like it developers aren't really aware of the meaning of. Setting it to "Never remember history" makes it automatically check "Clear cookies and site data every time you close Firefox" and "Based on your history settings, Firefox deletes cookies and site data from your session when you close the browser.". After having done that firefox forces a restart. We use it a little bit and close it again. Then open it up and re-enable "Remember history". It will force another restart, and then suddenly remember all the things it was told not to remember. Like automatically relogging into google for you, opening tabs, and things like that.

So. Can someone explain to us the meaning of the words "forget", "never", "history", "clear", "cookies and site data", "every time", "close firefox", "deletes", "close the browser". We thought it couldn't be more obvious that what the user intends with these settings is for you to delete the user data. Like you claim you do. And then you wonder why people say firefox is bought and payed for by google. If anyone of you can find the time to take your tongues out of google long enough to define these words for us we would forever be thankful. Can please someone please teach us please english please?

Can you enable members to pin there folders and pages in the bookmark bar so that it looks neater and can fit more pages and folders etc, even multiple pages and folders together same as the tab bar,

also allow more power to open and use more tabs at the same time upto as many as will fit on page, 50?

i use manual traffic exchanges, which i have to surf and change tabs regulary and faster to surf more manual traffic exchange websites, we need this to build up free advertising credits to promote our programes and business opportunities.

Also can i add all my GMAIL, yahoo mail and notepad accounts together in 1 fixed pinned dropdown tab instead of using up multiple tabs.

The GPU isn't working properly... I've attached screenshots of the browser I have installed. If needed, I can take any logs, etc. It's very frustrating - I have a fairly old processor and its GPU isn't working properly! As of the update that happened this morning, I can no longer use arrow keys to navigate to suggested results in the search bar, nor can I use the enter key to execute the search.

I've disabled all my extensions and restarted Firefox, which didn't help. I've restarted my PC, which didn't help. My work laptop is running 150.1 (with almost all the same extensions, running under the same Mozilla account) and everything works fine.

Additionally, several dropdowns have broken, which I have attached an image of. It's making debugging this very difficult!

So, I've just went on a quest to find a solution to my pinned tabs disappearing every few days, and it seems like this can happen if I don't shut down Firefox properly. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

That's my question. The rest of this is curiosity about the issue since it's seemed to have persist for a few years:

Is this intended behavior? No other browser I use does this and judging from the hits I got here, and elsewhere, it seems undesired. Is there some security or privacy reason it's like this?

I know I can repin the tab, or take some session recovery steps, and a few other things... but IMO, those are workarounds, not solutions. Barring some technical or mission limitation, a true solution should prevent this from happening at all.

Linux. I'm trying to add speech synthesis through Piper (which has much better voices than what's installed by default). I've got it set up in speech dispatcher and can use "spd-say" on the command line without issue. But Firefox refuses to say anything through this configuration. I've configured one voice for Piper and it shows up in the voices list in FF.

FF can play other sounds just fine, such as video. FF could also play the voices from the other module that was preinstalled. So this might not be a FF issue? But as mentioned, speech dispatcher responds correctly on the command line and FF lists the voice I've configured through it.

I'm not sure where to go from here as searching has turned up a lot of dead ends. Any help would be appreciated!
