I'm done with Firefox. Suddenly this past few months more than once a week I'm getting the "Restart to continue using Firefox" because of updates. This is annoying and unnecessary for every update they push. It's a browser, that's all. The restarts can wait until I feel like closing or when I update Linux and restart the laptop.

Can't even open a new tab when this happens.

The updates cannot be THAT critical that work is halted.

Hi, upon seeing that Firefox 138 was available, I was surprised to see that my version of Firefox is still on 136. I'm on Kubuntu Oracular (24.10) and using the PPA at https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/mozillateam/ppa/ubuntu oracular InRelease. After checking https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/ubuntu/ppa and filtering for the different Ubuntu releases, it seems that both Noble and the newer Plucky have 138 available, but Oracular didn't even get 137.

Is there a reason for this?

My computer will likely update to 25.04 in the relatively near future (there is currently an updater bug that's delaying the rollout), but I'm still curious why this is two versions behind.

All - I was terrified to sign off my computer last nite, in the event that shutting down would make my missing bookmarks disappear into the ozone layer. But, I did so at midnite. Woke up this morning and when I logged in - BAMM - my bookmarks were all right where they should be, my recent activity history was there so I am here to announce it had to be a user error! Before I noticed the bookmarks were MIA, I had gone thru the setting and review all were as they should be but I never did a restart to make sure all the settings were applied. So when I shut down at midnight, that must have acted as a reboot.

I am getting a new memory stick to back those bookmarks up today and this is resolved!!!

_________________________________________________________________________________________________ An update was installed on April 29, and for the first time, ALL BOOKMARKS appear to be wiped. Have NEVER had this happen in 20 years so hoping it's a simple problem such as a setting change. What's the best place to start or should I just uninstall and go to the last update which was the Firefox 137.0.2 (20250414091429) Installed on: April 15, 2025 at 7:17:18 PM?

The following update from 4/29 wiped my bookmarks. WIN PC Intel 64bit 8GB UPDATE INFO: Firefox 138.0 (20250421163656) Installed on: April 29, 2025 at 5:17:56 PM Status: The Update was successfully installed.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Connie T.

Recently clicked to update to the next version of Firefox. Then I get the message "Restart to Update Firefox." I restart Firefox but the message is still there when I click Help > About Firefox. It would appear that the update did not happen for some reason. Do I need to re-install Firefox to get around this problem?

Why hasn't Firefox updated since April 15? (It's currently the 28th). Things are lagging, primarily on You Tube (for the last 4 or more days), and normally updates don't leave as much time in between updates. Anyone know what's going on? Will it ever update or do I need to leave for another browser?
