I am using Firefox Borwser following are the details.

  • Extended Support Release
  • Version: 128.10.0esr (64-bit)
  • Firefox for ParrotOS
  • ParrotOS 6.2

I just got this as pre installed and it is currently up-to-date.

The issue is that on Web WhatsApp it show the wrong timestamps with messages (GMT+0) not of my Timezone that is GMT+5:00..

I tried to get some help form the this article: [web shows UTC time]

I tried these commands in Dev Tools Console Tab: -> (new Date()) -> Date Mon May 26 2025 19:16:41 GMT+0500 (Pakistan Standard Time) -> (new Date()).toString() -> "Mon May 26 2025 14:16:46 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time)" => -> According to the article it shows the same but in my case it shows GMT+0

Hope this information would be enough to get this issue.

I am on Canada. I am using a Lenovo Laptop with WIN 10 (22H2) and Firefox 138.04 64bit. When connected to a local streaming service I am refused service because I show as being out of the country. When I load Microsoft Edge and connect I am suddenly back in Canada. The steaming service does not have an answer. Any clues as to why this occurs?

Hello,

I’ve noticed that Firefox is inaccurately reporting my geolocation. I am connected through a VPN/Web3 setup that correctly places my location in Canada by a direct-routing for special sites domen address. Other browsers, such as Yandex Browser, reflect this correctly. However, Firefox seems to ignore this and reports my location as being in Russia.

I tested this side-by-side using the same website (Gemini), and the result was consistently different across browsers — Firefox being the only one that misrepresents my location.

This is concerning, especially from a privacy standpoint. It seems Firefox is using a different method to determine geolocation.

Could you please clarify how Firefox determines geolocation, and whether it’s possible to change or disable this behavior? I believe users should have full control over what location data is shared and ensure that the browser respects the actual network setup in use.

Importantly, blocking geolocation access for the site in Firefox’s settings does not solve the issue — the site still receives the incorrect (Russian) location, likely based on IP or some internal Firefox service. This suggests Firefox is using an alternative method to determine and transmit location data, possibly ignoring the active VPN setup or relying on cached/default IP-based data

Thank you.

I have had trouble for months logging in to Ticketmaster and Office Depot Canada. Now, I can't use Firefox to access Crave, which tells me that my "IP address is outside of North America." I am not using a VPN, so I don't know why Crave thinks that.

Help?

When I sign onto a certain app, it says I sign on from West, New York. I am in North Carolina, so I am wondering if my browser that I’m using which is Firefox, is routed back to like a headquarters in New York where it would show that I signed on from New York? Is that ever possible?

Thank you, Stefanie Norris
