I'm using a Dell Latitude 3190 3in1 laptop with Win10Pro. My Firefox home page is my local internet provider's main page. Why do I keep getting oval popups in the lower left hand corner telling me I have people all over the internet interested in my internet service provider?

I am dealing with what appears to be a browser issue. When I try to log in to my Mint account using Firefox, it requires me to verify that I am not a robot. Then using reCAPTCHA it brings up a set of images that I click. After clicking each set it keeps bringing up new sets of images and prevents me from logging in.

When I contacted Mint they said I needed to clear cookies in Firefox. So I cleared cookies and still cannot log in. It keeps throwing new sets of images at me over and over. I have been easily able to log in to Mint using Firefox in the past, but just recently it will not allow me to log in. I do not understand why.

I chatted with Mint who told me to use Chrome. I tried using Chrome and I can log in using Chrome. Why can't I log in using Firefox?

Also, is it feasible to offer a chat window to discuss this problem?

Under EXCEPTIONS I had to ALLOW certain websites. Then I decided to experiment and see what ALLOWED for SESSION really does.

Neither the entries for websites I allowed for a session were deleted from the list of exceptions, nor the cookies saved by these websites were deleted even when I closed the browser.

I do not see the difference in terms of what happens between selecting Allow vs. Allow for session.

Could someone who knows please explain or point me to the place that explains the difference and how this works?

Thanks.

I noticed a certificate in the People tab of the Certificate Manager, and I don't know where it came from.

It says Certificate Name "SomeOrganization" "sp-control-01", email address "root@sp-control-01", Expires on "November 12, 2019".

Where could have this come from. And is it a problem? I worry that it is from some malware site which put a fake certificate on my firefox or something?

Is there a way to see when or how it was added?

Thanks!

I am looking at the information displayed under the "shield" icon for teh websites I am using and I am not sure how to read it and understand it.

I am attaching 2 screen captures. Two questions.

1. One of the screen captures shows what I see for the shield under cookies. One of the websites listed there is marked as "blocked". If other listed websites (like the 3rd party one) shown are not identified as Blocked, does that mean that they are not blocked, despite the fact that all cookies have been blocked in CUSTOM?

2. The other screen capture shows a subset of what's allowed under exceptions. The https://connect.xfinity.com website is one of them. Then is this website is an exception, why does teh shield show the cookie for their website as blocked?

Does anyone know how this works? Is this the way it is supposed to work and if so, can someone explain? Thanks.

Hi:

I set my privacy options for CUSTOM and for blocking everything under it, in all windows. I allowed some exceptions for storing cookies for some websites.

I cleared cookies and cache and after a short time, websites in the exception list saved cookies (as displayed under MANAGE).

Next day, I noticed all kinds of other cookies that I cannot relate to or from websites that should be blocked (are not exceptions).

I attached a screen capture of a subset of cookies stored since yesterday. Only connect.xfinity.com and malwarebytes.com in this subset of cookies belong to websites on the exception list.

Could someone explain why the other cookies were not been blocked? Is this how blocking is supposed to work? I looked at all the help articles on the topic I could find but I have not seen any explanation for this.

Thanks.

I have Set Foxit reader as my default app in the applications section of Firefox options. I have also set "allow" in the privacy and security section of options. When I click on a video file I received via email, a window pops up asking me "how do I want to handle this". It shows that Foxit reader is a default app and I, therefore, click on the box that says "always open files using this app". The next time I click on a different video file, doesn't automatically open. Instead, the how do you want to handle this window pops up again. Can somebody tell me how to correct this problem?

TIA James Birke.

I connected to the web interface of my printer and got a warning that it could be an unsafe site. I clicked where it said I accept the risk. Then I found out that I could install a certificate on the printer. To do that I have to click "Download." But I don't see that. First I have to remove the security exception I created. How do I do that in Firefox 83.0?

Within the last 2 weeks or so I get this error repeatedly when accessing secure sites that i used to be able to access with no issues. I use a private VPN and 2 factor authentication. Sometimes stopping the VPN momentarily fixes this, but for other sites, it's no go. This isn't an SSL or SEC error and a search on help forum didn't provide an answer.
