Just recently, the Bookmarks sidebar quit appearing automatically when I opened Firefox. In each new window, it can be selected manually.

I posted this thread under "Privacy and Security" because other threads on the Internet (some quite old) say this issue can be fixed by changing the Browsing history settings. I tried that, but got a strange result: the Bookmarks sidebar did appear automatically, but the webpage I was on would not display any images embedded in the page. And then I wondered: why must I eliminate Browsing History just to automatically display my bookmarks?

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

when attempting to move Firefox bookmarks to my new computer, I click import data within the Firefox page. The computer asks me to select the file. I have no idea where the bookmarks reside and cannot find a file. What is the procedure to get this done?

Although listed as one of the options for default language, the current version of Firefox, which is my default browser, does not accept Brazilian Portuguese as the default language. It only accepts the Portuguese version, from Portugal which, to me, who speak Brazilian Portuguese, with all due respect, is a pain in the butt. I have tried, dozens of times, to delete the Portuguese version and set the Brazilian version as the default language. It works until I shut down the computer. The next time I turn on the computer, to my eternal dismay, Firefox cancels my previous language setting and reverts itself to the damn Portuguese version, which I dislike to the extreme.So I am, hereby, taking the issue to you with high hopes that this abdomally be straightened out once and forever. My facebook account keeps getting double logins and ip4 logins rather than ip6 addresses. I think my ex-employer has installed a certificate into firefox on my laptop. I know absolutely nothing about certificates and have never knowingly installed one into my firefox web browser. But after looking I seem to have a certificate, is this certificate something that is allowing someone else access to what I view on my browser or allowing access to my cookies? Would users normally have their own firefox user certificate installed that they are unable to remove with a year on the date? I have added 2 screenshots. I have an mp4 (h264 AAC) video of 37MB which plays acceptably from my website in Safari, Chrome and Edge, but when played in Firefox (my default browser) the sound and picture synch is significantly seperated. When the video is compressed to 26MB it suffers some expected loss of sound quality but plays with near perfect lip synch. What is the issue with playback ?

I'm on OS Windows 11 and the latest version of FF (133). I also use NordVPN; I can access the web via Edge and Chrome with VPN, but for the last month, it doesn't work with FF. What could be the problem?

The latest update caused an edit I made to my Profile's userChrome.css file to be nullified. Now there's huge bar where the tabs toolbar used to be, and apparently it's not the title bar, as when I activate the title bar in "Customize Toolbar," this huge gets replaced by the actual toolbar.

I've attached my css code below for inspection. It used to work perfectly, but after the last update (133.0) it's no longer working. What can I do to fix this and have it like I had it prior to the latest update (133.0)?

Suddenly Firefox is downloading my downloads to google drive. Why? I want them in my download directory, but changing the options in Settings/General/Download makes no difference. It is set to ask where a file should go, but does not. It is set to ask whether to open or save a file and it does not!

How can I get google drive out of this and save them to my desktop again?

I did some googling first and it seems to be an on and off issue mozilla has had with years. Anyway, whenever I play a video (be it youtube, twitter, instagram, even gifs on twitter actually) the video will often mess up and become a chaotic jumbled garbled up mess of green with junk artifacts over the video. The audio will play fine. It's like watching a scrambled TV station from a 90s bootleg cablebox, but green.

This issue doesn't exist in any of my other browsers.

I'd love to continue supporting Firefox instead of Chrome, but this is a persistent issue across the entire internet, so it's kinda obvious I need to stop using Firefox until this is patched. Thanks.

Starting this morning I am no longer able to access my banking site with Firefox. My current version of FF is 133.0.3 for 64 bit Windows 11. I could access it yesterday. Looking at the support on this, I see that this has been a problem with Firefox for quite a while. I can access my bank with Chrome (although I don't trust Chrome) so why not FF? I haven't changed any settings. What set this blockage off and how can it be eliminated. If a setting needs to be changed, please tell me what it is and how to fix it.

Chrome seamlessly harmonizes with the PowerToys FancyZones feature in Windows 11. In Chrome, I can drag a tab out of a browser window, and instantly snap it into a FancyZone. I can also quickly arrange multiple separate Chrome windows into FancyZones without issue.

Firefox's interaction with FancyZones is not good. When I drag a tab out of a window, it doesn't allow me to snap it into a FancyZone. I first need to release left click, allowing the tab's new window to appear, then I can snap that window into a FancyZone.

The biggest occurs when I have multiple Firefox windows open and snap one of them into a FancyZone. Often, one of the open Firefox windows will spontaneously shrink itself in size. When I try to manually resize the window back to normal, it shrinks further and further, until it is an invisible sliver. The only solution when this occurs is to fully restart Firefox.

It seems strange that Firefox has such poor compatibility with FancyZones, which is growing in popularity along with other productivity tools in PowerToys. Wondering if anyone else has experienced these issues, if there is any workaround, or if there is a fix being worked on.

When I open Firefox it opens a maximized window with tabs, then it opens a minimized with a single tab, then it reopens a maximized window with all session tabs. Each window displays in succession, one window at a time.

I just read a post saying this behavior was caused by the resist fingerprinting feature. Can someone explain how that causes the repeated opening of browser window 3 times. Is there a way to retain the anti-fingerprinting behavior w/o the multiple window opening behavior?

As title. Installed the latest update as soon as i came out. I get the "Welcome to Firefox" tab and the 2nd tab "Firefox Privacy Notice" opened.

The 1st "Welcome" tab, has the box and buttons asking me to import old setting and all that jazz. I have down in quiet a few times and nothing is taken root. I have went through the process of installing all my old addons and extensions, I am not sure how many times, as I use them every time I open my browser to watch Twitch or Youtube, Beyond 20, and what have you. And of course it keeps resetting my toolbar and the bookmarks and settings on my homepage.

I thought at first, it might be buggy and after a day or two it would get fixed an updated. But alas, nothing thus far and this is forcing me to use other craptastic browsers I rather not even have installed on my system.

I have refreshed Firefox a time or two, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but I am afraid to completely wipe it out, as I do not want to lose my bookmarks, passwords, and other saved information, that I probably should not have saved but I do because my memory is "teh suck".

I would appreciate any insight on how tor resolve this issue.

The past two days Firefox has not been displaying PDFs properly, turning 2 out of 14 pages sideways. I restarted my computer but no change. The PDFs display beautifully in Edge.
