I've been searching for an answer to this for weeks to no avail. It concerns YouTube videos "autoplay"ing on YouTube. Many have asked this question and most responses state to shut off Autoplay. These are two separate issues. AotuPlay means the next video on YouTube will advnace automatically requiring no user input. If Autoplay is off, streaming stops at the end of the video. The issue I am having is when I open a YouTube video to a new tab (but do not switch to that tab), the video WILL start playing as soon as that tab is in focus. This never used to happen and indeed, on two other computers with the settings and extensions all sync'ed, this doesn't happen, except for on this one computer. Today I found someone that posted the exact same problem 5 years ago and didn't get an answer. He seems to describe it well:

1. Okay, so before, when I loaded up 100+ Youtube videos, they stayed when switching tabs - no autoplay. Suddenly they decide to autoplay when switching tabs - note, I've not done anything to my settings or plugins. Fair enough, maybe you changed something (which you often do, without informing). So I check the options. It was on "Block audio", which obviously didn't work, so I tried "Block Audio and Video" - which WORKS, but now both the video is paused (which I want) AND the audio is set to mute (which I DON'T want) - so... what does it take to have Youtube wait for a click to start playing a video loaded in a background tab, but KEEP AUDIO ACTIVE, so I don't also have to unmute the damn video?

One person posted a possible solution: Maybe check this pref on the about:config page.

   media.block-autoplay-until-in-foreground 

This setting describes the issue kind of. If you have this set to false, the moment you send a link to a new tab, YouTube starts playing in the background. Setting it to false keeps the video paused until that tab is in focus. That is how mine has always been set. What I am looking for is a setting that would say something like: "block autoplay until play is pressed"

Greetings all, my trusty Firefox stopped working. Error Code PR_Connect_reset_error. Other browsers work fine. I have windows 10 with the latest updates and use Kaspersky Internet Security 21.3.10.391 (m). I have paused Kaspersky, uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox 3 times. I have cleared all Firefox cookies and caches a number of times. On my 2nd Firefox reinstallation Firefox worked ok for a couple of times then stopped again with the same error code. Please note that I am not very familiar with computer stuff so any suggestions need baby steps. Many thanks.

Since updating to version 135 all the tabs crash. I've uninstalled\reinstalled, deleted app data, disabled AV and created a new profile. The only time it works is in troubleshooting mode. I've looked at extensions and plugins and I'm only seeing OpenH264 video codec and Widevine content decryption. I've disabled those but still get the crashed tabs.

I'm also not generating any crash logs.

While browsing youtube,i no longer find cast to tv icon in Firefox browser.Can you help me please,as after stroke my eye-sight is diminished.I was able to do it before,as i switched over Linux Mint 22 wilma,i am unable to find this cast icon.Thanks.

Mon navigateur est à jour, j'ai réinstaller plusieurs fois, mais le problème persiste.

L'extension est bien installée, mais l'icône n'apparait pas.

Long time user of Firefox and this issue of the Recaptcha Failed while never even opening the Recaptcha for selecting all the bikes, buses or whatever else it asks you to find in order to validate. This is a new install of the latest version of Firefox, I have no problem with Recaptcha using Chrome but prefer Firefox's privacy. I pay bills, work jobs from the internet which requires recaptcha to work in the browser I am using. I have not seen a answer anywhere to fix this problem which only happens in Firefox. I checked the troubleshoot and gave all the necesarry permissions on my Mac for Google Meet to use my screen (allowed audio, video and screen recording). Nevertheless, I cannot manage to share my screen on Google Meet. As shown in the screenshot, it offers the option to share my whole screen (I cannot select a window or a tab...) but for my audience neither this is working.

Could you please help me fix this?

A number of important (to me), websites (pension and wages) ask for login details, including password, pin and in some cases using 2FA, will not still allow me access. I have tried changing the passwords etc. However, this seems only to allow access one time only. I am entering the passwords correctly and other info but I can not consitantly access the web pages. I do not use google or Bing search, only Firefox and Duck Duck Go. The last time I was able to use the passwords etc freely was around mid December 2024. I have searched for probable cause and remedy but all to no avail. If I try to access on my iPhone or tablet I can access some but not all. I did have Dashlane on my PC and laptop but have since deleted it. It was not on phone or tablet.

Any advice or help please?

I have an issues sign in when I attempt to open my bookmarked tab (YouTube). When I google "YouTube" I get a youtube page however, it displays that I am not signed in. When I click on the sign in tab, I receive a troubleshoot window. I will include a screenshot here to help. I have corresponded with Youtube and they have provided me with many links to fix the problem, and nothing helped. I believe this is a FIREFOX issue. There is no option to save addresses in my Autofill settings as the help article says there should be. I have signed into my Mozilla account and no difference. Credit cards working fine. What's going on?

I know, sounds stupid, but it is what it is. It happens rarely, only with Firefox on the secondary display from my laptop, via HDMI. It starts with some random few thin horizontal bars across the window itself, and soon, it turns off my display. It seems the bigger the window is, the more severe the issues. So full screen usually, it shuts it off and keeps it off. Not black screen, no signal style. I manage to get it out by Winkey+arrow. If i then put it back same issue. If i lower the width of it, it manages to stay coherent longer, but still resets the display with a quick black screen on page reload. The lower bounds on a 1920x1080 display resolution was 1515 pixels. At 1515 pixels, it works fine, once this is triggered, it's very repeatable on 60-70% of webpages. If i drag another window on top of Firefox, the monitor comes back up.

Before anyone asks: I have tried turning off hardware acceleration. I have tried putting firefox.exe to run on the integrated video card and on the dedicated 1060 Max Q videocard. I have cleared cache and etc.

This persists on a Windows session, across multiple Firefox restarts. A computer restart technically fixes it but i have no clue what triggers it. Laptop monitor works fine.

After accidentally closing firefox I could not restore my last session after going to. history because the restotre tab was not there. Only recently closed tabs and recently closed windows and search history was there. I also had the box sent in setting to restore last session but it did not do that either. Am I missing something. Sorting through all the history would take quite a bit of time. I am on a macbook with sequoia ios.

I've used Roboform addon before. Recently i had to reinstall win 11, and therefore reinstall Firefox, plus Roboform addon. Mozilla shows addon has installed, but it is not operating like i am used to. it will not auto load username/password automatically. I've checked several times, reloaded, and still can't find why it is not working. this includes going to Add-ons manager page in Mozilla, where it says Roboform password manager enabled. doesnt seem to be working to me. see attached screen shot any suggestions most welcome.
