Greetings all, my trusty Firefox stopped working. Error Code PR_Connect_reset_error. Other browsers work fine. I have windows 10 with the latest updates and use Kaspersky Internet Security 21.3.10.391 (m). I have paused Kaspersky, uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox 3 times. I have cleared all Firefox cookies and caches a number of times. On my 2nd Firefox reinstallation Firefox worked ok for a couple of times then stopped again with the same error code. Please note that I am not very familiar with computer stuff so any suggestions need baby steps. Many thanks.

For many years, I have been exchanging video calls on Facebook.

Recent attempts to video call the same person I've been video calling for the past 3 years result in "your browser doesn't support video calls"

Have I been "hacked"?

Please explain.

Since updating to version 135 all the tabs crash. I've uninstalled\reinstalled, deleted app data, disabled AV and created a new profile. The only time it works is in troubleshooting mode. I've looked at extensions and plugins and I'm only seeing OpenH264 video codec and Widevine content decryption. I've disabled those but still get the crashed tabs.

I'm also not generating any crash logs.

This issue just appeared. Video will not play in Firefox. Windows10 PC, up to date with latest versions, as is Firefox. There is no error message or code. Just the spinning wheel. I see other people are having the same issue but I haven't seen a solution. Any ideas or help appreciated.

When I tried to login to My Social Security it said I do not have access to that account so I contacted Social Security for help and they determined that it was the Firefox browser and asked me to open Microsoft Edge and try to login and that worked perfectly. Why is Firefox preventing me from logging into Social Security.

I have used the Firefox add-on "Evernote web clipper" for years. Several months ago, I got a new laptop, and got web clipper up and running, for a while.Then, the web clipper icon disappeared. Firefox tells me it is still active, but I am unable to use it. Also, I am unable to log onto Evernote.com via Firefox. Have to use Edge. I have submitted this request before, and got suggestions, but none solved the problem. I am willing to pay to have this problem solved. Yesterday my audio on Firefox worked, today it doesn't. I tried all the regular trouble shooting solutions. - My system volume is not 0 - My tabs aren't muted - My headphones are turned on and working fine (audio works everywhere but Firefox) - I uninstalled and reinstalled my Firefox - I uninstalled and reinstalled my headphone audio drivers - Audio also does not work in a private browser, so I know the issue it's related to extensions, cookies, etc. - I had Windows 11 do a quick diagnostic, so the issue isn't Windows 11 related

Usually when this issue occurs, it's as simple as switching from "default" to a specific speaker in volume mixer, but Firefox is not appearing in volume mixer like it did in the past, as shown in the screenshot below.

I don't know what else to do at this point. In previous documentation here, the solution for some people was to wait and it eventually fixed itself, but I'd rather not have audio for weeks to months on end, so has anyone found another solution by chance?

How do I actually install the Surfshark extension, because everywhere I go just seems to be information about the extension, but nowhere to click on to actually to install it ??

I am getting Secure Connection failed Error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR is there a way to bypass this. I tried 5 suggestions on YouTube and followed FireFox's directions for Avast, with no success.

I want to copy/clone information in my Firefox Profile (Bookmarks, Logins, ..) from one device to another. Once that was accomplished, then I would enable Firefox Sync for the two devices.

Scenario: Device “A” (Profile A): Primary/Original/Source Device “B” (Profile B): Copy/Clone/Duplicate

I understand that if I set up Firefox Sync first and then sync the two devices what I will get is a combination/fusion of the information on the 2 devices, i.e., all the “good” stuff in Profile A plus all the superfluous stuff in Profile B that I would just as soon ignore/delete – which is not what I want. This issue has been raised in a number of other posts on this forum but with no suitable resolution offered (that I could find). I’m wondering if there might be a “work-around” that would achieve the desired result.

So ... would this work?

1) Back everything up first (of course!) 2) Glean any unique information to be preserved (Logins, etc.) from Profile B and incorporate it into Profile A (Profile A now has everything essential!) 3) Purge Profile B

   a) Create a New Profile on Device B (and delete old?)
   b) Delete everything possible from the new Profile B (default bookmarks, etc.)

4) Login to Mozilla account and enable Sync

The idea is to create a “blank” Profile on Device B so that when Profile A and Profile B are Synched together (combined), Profile A remains unchanged, and Profile B is populated with everything in Profile A (a perfect copy!). The result that I want after Sync is essentially A+B=A, the solution of which is of course B=0, hence the focus on creating a "blank" Profile B.

Instead of purging Profile B as above, an alternate method might be to first “pre-load” Bookmarks in Profile B by the usual method of Backing up Profile A Bookmarks and then Restoring them to Profile B. At this point Profile A and Profile B Bookmarks would be exactly the same and Synching the two devices should make no changes to either’s Bookmarks. Logins and other information would still have to be purged, but this could at least be a head start.

Presumably this idea could be extended to more than 2 devices (but with only one being the “Primary”).

Note that I am (myself) only concerned about Bookmarks and Logins, and am thus glossing-over how other information that might be important to others (Browsing History, Tabs, etc.) might be Synched.

Could someone from Mozilla/Firefox with a knowledge of the inner workings of these features please comment as to the efficacy of this “work-around”?

My Firefox on windows 10 crashes tabs OFTEN. Mostly is seems to be Facebook and YouTube tabs, but other tabs will crash and this morning, the Firefox start page tab crashed. I've done "refreshes", I've uninstalled and deleted the folder and re-installed, I've checked the SSD for errors. Nothing appears in the event viewer. Is there some way to definitively figure what is causing this?

Why is "recently bookmarked" in the menu? I have my bookmarks in folders if I need them and don't need that cluttering my screen. Like who doesn't just leave the tab open if they're going use the page soon enough "Recently bookmarked" is needed?

I have 4 rows of shortcuts that are being changed every time I visit a new site. How can I lock them in so they won't be changed and to keep them where I arrange them?
